Just got my vapor pro white, using it on my iPhone 4S, got it from eBay for $80 the seller had great feedback and sold it as OEM, original new, it looks good, it came in the box with the original web site on the box and carrying case and screw driver etc, my question to other vapor pro owner is , how much play do you have between the case and the phone in corners or one corner, is the iPhone supposed to sit in this case like is glued in or do all the cases have a small tiny play that you can move if you press on the phone and hold the bumper? I did take it out and recenter it the second time and I also added some extra rubber padding that came with the phone( extra being more than the picture showed to add) after all that I can still move the phone if I hold the case a bit, it feels like its moving as much as the rubber allowed it, it won't come off or anything like that I am just not sure if it's so-pose to move at all?

More than likely you got a fake one, if you go to a fake vapor pro thread you'll read about it.

Its also possible the seller didn't know it was a fake. The real one costs $150. There is no play with the one I had. Its more than likely yours is a fake esp. if it was being sold as new.

Just got my Element Vapor COMP for Christmas. It's in black and I love it. However, it's not quite as snug a fit around the edges as I expected it to be, but I still love it.

My Vapor Pro White is very snug. There's no play to it at all.

The red COMP that I got was perfect in terms of fit. It wasn't as tight as the Pro, but there was no play either.

I don't have much play, if at all. It's just I thought it would wrap around the silver band a little closer. I can see some of the silver band around the sides of the phone.

Couple of questions for the COMP users...

1. Do the edges cover all of the antenna band? [My Vapor Pro Stealth shows some of the band.. kinda annoying really.]

2. Does the polycarbonate cap scratch up easily?

1.
For my 2+ mths old Black Comp, the antenna band could be seen around the 'ElementCase' letterings due to the cap flexing a little.

2.
I generally don't put keys or other objects together with my phone. I had dropped my phone a couple of times in my car between the seats, and floor etc. Not a single dent or scratch on both cap and Al Frame.

Haven't dropped it on concrete yet so... haha

On the other hand, I had sent it back and topped up a bit more for a Comp Stealth. ElementCase's CS rep replied to my initial warranty request within 1 business day.

After which, they took 2 business days upon receiving my return order (21 dec) to process (23 dec) which is decent, considering it's the festive period.

Just shipped the Stealth on 27 dec. :) Lastly, the miscellaneous service provided was simply awesome~

Just bought the Black Ops Vapor case from Amazon. It was from a seller for $85 and I hope to God it's not fake...

if you're spending that much and its not even directly from amazon, why not just buy it direct from element case? you'll always have that ? in the back of your head whether or not its real or an expensive fake.

Once he gets it.. he can tell, it's fairly simple to tell the difference once it's in hand.

Most likely it's a fake though, why he would even risk it is beyond me. Get your knockoffs from those aliexpress sites and get your genuine cases from authorized retailers. Simple? Yup.

Gust got my Pro Chroma in Silver

Just got my Vapro Pro Chroma in Silver, just wanted to share a few things and see if others have experienced the same issues.

I knew since this was the Chroma finish, it wouldn't be smooth, but I didn't expect it to be quite this rough. Not sure how I feel about that, but it does look like it will be durable. The silver also seems to be lighter than on the website, it's almost more white looking than a metallic silver. I plan on upgrading to a white iPhone 4S next month, so I think it will look great with white, but it's not quite what I was expecting on a black phone. Not a big deal though.

I know others have talked about being able to see small gaps between the phone and the case, and I have them too. Are people's phones getting scratched as a result? I keep my phone in my pocket a lot, so am concerned small things will get in between and scratch the phone.

The power button seems to take a little more effort than using it on a naked phone, or the power button on Apple's bumper. Not a big deal, just wondering if others have noticed the same thing. Oh, and if it's sitting on a desk and it vibrates, dang it is loud! I know the 4S has a quieter motor, but on the iPhone 4 the phone is quite loud now on a table when it vibrates.

Overall I'm really happy though-no reception issues, and it feels rock solid.

Just ordered mine from jacky Lin at aliexpress, the black ops one lets hope I don't get a loose one or have a problem with the shipper or seller

sorry but, spending $150 bucks on a case (half the cost of the phone) is like buying a peice of aluminum to stick on ur phone

Youre posting in the wrong thread. This is the REAL element thread. There is a fake one as well.

and spending $4000 in wheels is also like buying a piece of aluminum to stick on ur car? if you're going to make an analogy, at least make sure it makes sense. and by the way, time and time again, the up front subsidized cost of the phone isn't the real cost of the phone!

i dont really get people that buy fakes to be honest. if you can't afford it or don't want to spend that much money then don't get one at all. element cases are what I would consider a luxury item. When you pay the premium, your paying for not only the quality, design but the name. Sure that sounds stupid, but isn't that the same for designer clothes, bags, watches? It's like rocking a fake LV bag... just tacky as hell. Doesn't matter how nicely the replica is made... its NOT the real thing.

I'm not debating whether or not it's worth the 100+ dollars for an iphone case (in fact I recieved mine as a present... never considered buying it before) but if I were going to buy a vapor pro for my expensive *ss phone you can be sure its going to be the real thing. I'll prolly get flamed for my post but hey its just my opinion. And you gotta admit its kinda funny reading the fake vapor thread where people are complaining about their fakes having bad fit or off color  you get what you pay for :)

btw I have had my fair share of fake merchandise in the past... Not worth it IMO.

Sorry guys for asking maybe a dumb question. But I saw a listing in craiglist near where I live of a guy selling his vapor pro white for 65. He says it is the original and he paid 165 for it. Is there any question that I can ask to verify if it's original? Maybe a picture or something? I wouldn't like to pay 65 for a fake one, but also it might be a steal if it is an original. Thanks and sorry for the trouble.

I'll save you some future headaches right now by saying don't do it. In pictures it can be tricky to tell replicas from their real counterparts. Also, the seller can easily do a bait and switch. I'm not calling everyone that sells things on craigslist scammers... but it is craigslist and you have to be careful. It's up to you whether or not its worth the risk. You COULD end up with a real case for a discounted price of 165... but just as easily you can end up with a 30 dollar fake that you pay double for. And getting ripped off sucks, even when not that much damage is done to your bank.

Oh btw if you were thinking of doing a meet-up with the guy then that would be much better because you can actually check the case before you put the cash up. Do some research on the difference between real and fake from the vapor threads so you can tell before you meetup. Still be very careful when you go however... lotta sick people out there ;)
