As stated yesterday my silver/silver was to be delivered by the PO, which it was yesterday :D. The workmanship on this case is superb. It was worth the wait ✓. I did feel that is wouldn't hurt in adding a bit more insulation, which I did minutes ago. From other DIY projects I have a role of "3M VHB Heavy Duty Mounting Tape". This has a very close lOOk and consistently of EC's mystery material used. The only difference I could see would be that my tape is tacky on both sides where EC's is not. My workaround was to keep the red backing on the side that would be exposed to the iPhone.

The Griffin PowerJolt car charger has been modified with the help of my belt sander and wet-dry sandpaper (500 grit). I've done this with other close fitting accessories. Easily done.

Also shown is the Maxpedition holster that's been in use for my iPhone 4 with another brand bumper, working GREAT with the Vapor 4. Enjoy.

Mind posting some full shots of the phone with the case on? I haven't seen any pics of silver/silver, but from what I can see it looks sexy.

Thanks for the update asleep! We should keep your link post handy and just keep posting it so people don't keep asking for pics. Hahaha.

I see a big future ahead of you at Element. :D. Right now they are slapping their heads saying " Now why didn't we think of that "

Looks very good but I still don't think it's worth the price. I don't see how it can protect against drops.

Huhwhat!?

And that's a drop test only with a bumper. Yes, this case will be plenty of drop protection.

Not only that, but cases that cover only the corners protect exceptionally well. In fact, a lot of cases that cover the entire phone can actually damage your iPhone.

Another bumper-type protector:

I expect the Vapor case to protect a lot better than most.

My Black/Red

Stats:
W/O Case:
-57dB Edge
-81db 3G
-62db WIFI

W/ Case:
-75dB Edge
-113dB 3G
-103dB 3G
-107dB 3G
-98dB 3G
-89dB 3G
-65dB WIFI

GPS was indeed less accurate, but it bounced around from grossly inaccurate to *very* accurate, whereas without the case it was pretty much solidy accurate non-stop.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not to keep it. I'll "wear" it for a day or two and decide. My freebie Incase Snap has grown on me, despite the probability that it doesn't protect as well as the Bumper or Vapor.

Does it seems like it makes the screen look smallish to anybody else?

Nice pictures and having a jailbroken phone enables you to get a proper handle on signal strength. I can understand why you would think that the screen looks smaller. Having the "finger grip" on the right adds to the size of the border and a larger border surrounding the phone (like a TV with a large frame) will give the impression of the screen being smaller.

From an aesthetical point of view, I really think they should have dropped that "finger grip" as the asymmetry detracts from the case.

Wow, thanks for the pics zornet! Silver/silver does looks sleek! I like it now :D
ender, nice pics too! Do you have a screen protector? I like the HQ pics :)
Shows the true red color!

You'd think the aluminum will be soft enough to absorb the damage.

I don't think that aluminum is going to be better than say rubber. In motor racing, they replaced a lot of armco with rubber tyre barriers :)

Dropping the phone is going to damage the case clearly and it would really be nice of Element Case if they offered - one time only - a special deal whereby you could get at a nicely discounted price, either one or two sides when these get damaged.

Because of the patently obvious signal issues, I would not buy this but I must say it is a very attractive case.

Which is why there's foam inside to absorb the shock. Just like that car, you have a hard outside and a soft inside for absorbing shock.

You mean those 4 small pieces of foam? If you are talking about shock absorption, a rubber case has a hell of a lot more area to absorb shock than that. You cannot compare.

As I thought, silver is too light for my taste. I'm either gonna go with gunmetal/gunmetal or gunmetal/black.

I'm gonna pull the trigger on this. Been waiting to see when the aluminum dust settles.

Where did you see the gunmetal option?? was it emailed to preorder customers??

If it is not an option by the time your order, you have to email element to change your order color to gunmetal. Just make sure you order something whatever color it is.

So you've drop tested the Vapor case then? ;) Shock absorption is not the be-all end-all. Yes, you need it, but you need more than just shock absorption. The best cases are hybrid. Soft on the inside, tough on the outside. Is that not what the Vapor case is?

I am glad I am not the only one who has GPS problems with that case.. this make me want to sell it on ebay or send it back for refund.. I do like the look of the case.. BUT I am not sure if I can deal with GPS multifunctions.. without the case GPS works 99% time perfect.. with the case ON.. GPS simply sucks.. I was driving my car and after stop on intersection and then driving.. GPS on iPhone with case on stayed in the same spot (intersection) for few miles, till it jump from nowhere to current position.. simply GPS doesnt work!!! I do not think I can take it with $100 spent for case.. if this cost me like $30 I could maybe deal with it.. but for $100 I simply can not.. right now I am deciding what to do next..
