Oh, come on!

Somewhere, some lawyer's phone is ringing ...

Not to worry. Concidering how organized, professional and on the ball Element has been these past few months I bet they filed their pattens ages ago.
Only a bunch of unorganized monkies would have left that little item undone
So another company could rip off their design. Ha, no worries :D

No you're wrong. Check this out. Same Address, different name. Again, Google could be wrong, too. Believe it or not, just because Google says it is, doesn't mean it is.

The liklihood of this company being very legit is still pretty low judging by the quality of their website, but the address and what Google says doesn't mean anything at all.

The cross referencing of the registrant yields more shady info.

Unfortunately, I fail to see how it's shady. It's a name, an address, and a phone number. Nothing shady about that. And there's no proof to say it's incorrect. Nothing to post a warning about until we know anything certain. ;)

EDIT: Furthermore, searching his name pulls up a web design website. Go figure.

EDIT: Even more furthermore (lol),

Who Is finds his name. Search his name + illinois and you get the name of the business. The same business name I previously posted that I discovered that differed from the pizza company. The address, phone number, and name all line up. *shrug*

EDIT: Okay, he could be the former owner of 6speedonline.com at the same address and name. That site was bought by an Internet Brands company. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

It seems like they might be based out of Georgia as well. I added a case to my cart, just for the hell of it, and when I entered my zip code for shipping charges, it also calculated sales tax (I'm in Georgia). I've now played around with zip codes from several other states, and there's no sales tax added for any other state I've tried. You only have to charge sales tax for a state that you have a physical presence in.

sooooooo..who's gonna be the guinea pig and order one? I'd like to see their signal claims as well. if this case is legit, there goes elementcase in the ******* where they should be.

If they're in Georgia, I'm really thinking seriously about it. On that other site you linked to, they mention having the product ready to go for next day shipping. But hell, if they are in Georgia with me, standard ground is next day. I'd like to get a little more info on the company, and I'd also like to wait on that green/black model they show in some of the pictures, but don't list for sale yet. But the fact that the guy from the company posting in that other forum states that they don't use ANY padding in the case sounds to me like it comes in direct contact with the antenna, which, as I know from my long departed Vapor, is a BAD thing. And yes, you're right in that this company could put Element in the ******* where they belong. If they can sell cheaper than Element...and actually deliver quickly as they say they can...Element's Vapor sales are gone I believe. Because from the looks of the insane prices people were paying for the junk Vapor cases on eBay, people will buy this style case on looks alone. But...I just have a bad vibe about it. It kinda smells fishy to me. Hell, even the company name seems to be a rip on Element....Atomic? See the connection there?

oh, no doubt..these atomic guys just kind of popped out of nowhere.. gonna keep my eye on them because as must as I love my vapor case, it is driving me insane with the signal drops when i am in low signal areas. ill probably shoot them an email to find out exactly whats up with their claims on signal strength compared to the vapor.

Like I said, I may try them and see. But I'd kinda be taking one for the team here, and just trying them out for the sake of checking out if they're legit, as I've finally found my perfect case...the Seidio Rugged. I love how it's a full on Otterbox Defender style case when needed, and when it's not, it strips down to a slider style thinner case (Seidio's Innocase) when the max protection isn't needed. And the inner case (the Innocase) never has to come off. Perfect for me. So it'd be a waste for me to get the Atomic, as I'd never use it now.

I've been eyeballing that case. It looks tougher than hell. I like how you can lock the holster. How about posting some pics somewhere so we an see it. It hasn't been reviewed on YouTube yet. I'd like it for road trips. Yeah, I'm a case whore. Lol. The prob for me is they ship with Fedex to Canada and I end up paying 50 for the case 26 bucks to ship and 50 extra for duty which is total ***************ahit. Does anyone else sell em. Not on eBay yet.

I posted my quick review of it earlier today (with pics). Here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1012039/
And you're a case whore? Ha! Join the club. Did you see the "think I have enough cases" thread? I posted a pic of 20 cases I had for the iPhone 4 about 3 weeks ago. I'm up over 30 now. At an average of $25 per case, it's absolutely sick. We have something wrong with us! But...it's fun as hell to try to find the "perfect" case. But I'm really loving the Rugged. It's everything you need. Slim case when you want it (that even accommodates front and back skins, plus the added outer layers when you want it pretty much bulletproof.

Well I am still waiting for my case to arrive. I am a patient man but who knows where's my limit. I feel like I am coming to an end!
Anyway I have been reading about this Atomic case. I also read those forum posts from that Atomic dude, very smart of him. He confronts the users and costumers and helps out. I wish ElementCase did that too, here on MacRumors.
I would like to see an Atomic case, I'd like to try it out! Are those renders or photos on their site? I can't tell... ANyway, if someone from here on that iPhone4forum gets a case I will too order one. Maybe because of ElementCase I don't wanna order one, I don't believe those Atomic guys just like I didn't believe in ElementCase but who knows, maybe I'll end up using that Atomic case eventually :D

Fedex is pretty good about brokerage fees, when I got my white back cover from china via fedex I paid no duties/brokerage etc. The package came from china via the states. its UPS that bum rapes you all the time

Didn't know if this had been posted here yet but atomiciphonecase.com
Is an exact replica of the Element for only 69.99.

This case design is such a ripoff of the vapor case. Even the name, the text font. The changes are so minor they are hard to see. To me the manufacturer has no integrity. Its like a fake Rollex or a car that resembles a Porsche.

the company can offer lower prices and faster turn around because they didn't need research and development time.

We all did the testing for them. They knew the complaints ahead of time. Element had to try design changes to satisfy our issues.

Their solution to the antenna problem is to separate the case but not with rubber or plastic. What do they use? A force field.

Don't buy the Atomic case!!!!!!

Yeah I'd be pretty skeptical of this blatant Vapor rip-off.

Guys, it's the American way. It's called competition.
Microsoft blatantly rips off apple.
Any Japanese car company ripping off any American car company and improving at a lower cost. Not saying I would buy either one but that's the industry.

Thanks for the review Chris. It's a sweet looking case as far as hugh chunks of rubber go lol. It looks bullet proof. I've been using their holsters for years and have yet to seen anything better in build quality. I haven't tried any of their cases, this could be my first one. I have a SGP carbon skin on the back of my phone and lucky labs spectra wrap for the sides. Any chance you think it will fit in the case without me tearing stuff off? Thanks again. Great review.

Now in my case I got the shaft 6 times ordering stuff from Innocase. Each order came with an extra 30-50 charge from the Canadian government. It's kinda like paying blackmail money. " We saw you buying things from the States, got ya! now pay up!" Maybe Innocase use to use UPS I'm not sure. I know last week my mic arrived for my canon camcorder and I paid those effing leaches $30.06 extra
I never pay extra with USPS though.
I took those pics for ya I just need somewhere to send em.

I think it might. I have an SGP matte protector on the back of mine, and crystal protector on the front, and there's no trouble at all with the Innocase (the interior slider case) fitting. I have a SGP carbon skin on wax paper around here somewhere, I'll try it for you in just a bit and let you know. The only thing I don't know about is the side protectors (Lucky Labs) fitting...I've never tried it with any shields on the antenna.

Added: That didn't take long to find! Just installed the SGP Carbon, and the Innocase slides on fine with it. This is with my crystal front screen protector still on. Just be sure to start sliding the top part of the case down on the phone slowly, just to be sure it doesn't snag the edge of the skin. Slide it up slowly and it's all good. Snug fit, but not too snug that it's hard to slide the case back off. Seidio really built these Innocase sliders with a LOT of play, which I actually like, because it allows me to still use my SGP matte back skin, one of my Unique Skins vinyls, or now, the SGP Carbon back skin.

Several participants of this thread a while back determined that the elements of the Vapor Cases were in need of being insulated from one another. I had a bit of free time yesterday and came-up with these modifications to my Vapor 4 Case to achieve this. Insulation between the cap, frame & four allen-head screws of the Vapor 4 as follows. Previous modification posts were… #879 and #1125.

  • Firsts up the addition of 1/16" Shrink-Wrap on the allen-head screws, with the help of my heat gun & X-Acto knife. Promoting insulation between the cap and the frame its being connected to.
  • Second removal of my previous added lucky-labs wrap (silver). Followed by slicing a new set of the silver lucky-labs wraps in width with an X-Acto knife & straight edge. This adding an additional 3/32" as needed in width to cover the critical edges of the antenna by placing the cut lucky-labs stripes over the antenna edges.
  • Third using the supplied Apple logo with the lucky-labs wrap, using this DIY insulation on the Vapor cap achieving insulation between the cap & frame.
