sooooooo..who's gonna be the guinea pig and order one? I'd like to see their signal claims as well. if this case is legit, there goes elementcase in the ******* where they should be.

I was thinking the same thing. Anyone willing to take one for the team?

What I DO like about the Atomic Case is that the hole for the dock connector looks bigger than the Vapor's hole.

What I DON'T like is that the corners look like they have a sharper curve than the Vapor so the corner shows a little. I'm not sure if this picture was just a render or not. The actual case might not be that way.

As soon as my cases arrive, I will take one for the team! :)
Just I gotta find all I need, so what do I need?!? :D
Anyway, about that Atomic Case, maybe the connection port opening looks bigger/wider because of the speaker holes. The Vapor opening is equal everywhere, while the Atomic case is narrowed down at the speaker holes.
I think the depth is the same as the Vapor's. We need to see some HQ pics people and I feel the same about the corners, I don't want a brick lookalike I want the original design of my iPhone 4! :)
Maybe the design look curvier/sharper because the sides of the case ( not upper and lower sides but the left and right ) and slimmer/thinner than the Vapor's. It looks so to me.

Those of you who have no reduction of bars when using the Vapor -- have you run Speed test to test data transmission rates? I say this because with my naked iPhone if I touch the dreaded death grip spot I don't lose any bars at all but my data transmission goes from 2mbps to Zero.

I post this just to remind folks like bars do not tell the full story. You can have bars galore and still have significant signal reduction -- especially for data.

BTW still no refund from Element -- a month at least now, after Amex chargeback, and no word from Element. This is after three emails, a Paypal dispute, and a chargeback. Mind you, Amex refuns immediately, but the dispute itself is still not resolved. All this for a product that I cancelled -- it was never shipped.

Those of you who haven't yet ordered -- these guys are not reputable, period.

Speedtest is really not an accurate reflection of signal strength. I am with Rogers in Canada and my downloads can be anywhere between 1 mb/sec all the way up to 3 mb/sec. I can see 3 mb/sec when the phone is indicating 3 bars and I can see 1 mb/sec when the phone is indicating 4 bars. The variable is how heavily utilised the particular tower I am connecting to is.

Now in my case I got the shaft 6 times ordering stuff from Innocase. Each order came with an extra 30-50 charge from the Canadian government. It's kinda like paying blackmail money. " We saw you buying things from the States, got ya! now pay up!" Maybe Innocase use to use UPS I'm not sure. I know last week my mic arrived for my canon camcorder and I paid those effing leaches $30.06 extra
I never pay extra with USPS though.
I took those pics for ya I just need somewhere to send em.

It's trade protectionism. if they tariff imported products people buy products made at home that provide people with jobs. Maybe we need more of that in the U.S.

But I'm sure you know that and we don't need politics in this forum.

Sorry I brought it up.

I just tested with speedtest.net with the case, no added insulation or tape. Results 4018 kbps download 1275 kbps upload first try on a Saturday afternoon with probably a lot of traffic. With WiFi off.

Today I tested my signal strength up against my wife's in field test mode.

I had -76 and my wife had -72. I had the vapor. Hers was naked.

I use a lucky labs decal. This was everyday use in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nothing special.

I have NO idea why people have bad signal. I've seen a minimal loss.

Yes, you should be. The real name for it is Bul*******it. Free trade only seems to play when it's screwing us over. Many Canadians buy from the US and get effed because we have the nerve to want something that's not available
in our own Country. I could understand if we all had the same options but chose to buy elsewhere because of price. I don't mine paying a bit more to buy from a Canadian seller. In the end it only hurts us Canadian saps, I doubt there is a throng of US buyers ordering things from Canada that you can't get in the US...........Well maybe good beer :D
If you get a white envelope in the mail from Canada with a white powdery substance on it don't pay the duty fees.
Just joking, can't help myself some days.

Hey Random, Have you been on vacation or something haha
I've had no difference with or without the case when it comes to bars, speed tests and Db test. That's with a non modified case, just luck labs spectra wrap on my phone. It all comes down to how strong your signal is. I've proven that by switching cellular companies. Rogers wireless, 3 bars to 0 Bell Mobility 4 bars to 4 bars. Crazy no?

I wouldn't buy more from them until I see a hugh increase in customer service and meeting demand without waiting 2 months for orders.

Wow i'm glad they don't post addresses. Just Joking.

While this didn't offend me, it's probably not the most tasteful joke to make today of all days. Take a look at the calendar. Nine years to the day since 9/11.

Just saying.

If they're in Georgia, I'm really thinking seriously about it. On that other site you linked to, they mention having the product ready to go for next day shipping. But hell, if they are in Georgia with me, standard ground is next day. I'd like to get a little more info on the company, and I'd also like to wait on that green/black model they show in some of the pictures, but don't list for sale yet. But the fact that the guy from the company posting in that other forum states that they don't use ANY padding in the case sounds to me like it comes in direct contact with the antenna, which, as I know from my long departed Vapor, is a BAD thing. And yes, you're right in that this company could put Element in the ******* where they belong. If they can sell cheaper than Element...and actually deliver quickly as they say they can...Element's Vapor sales are gone I believe. Because from the looks of the insane prices people were paying for the junk Vapor cases on eBay, people will buy this style case on looks alone. But...I just have a bad vibe about it. It kinda smells fishy to me. Hell, even the company name seems to be a rip on Element....Atomic? See the connection there?

Hmm weird,I did the same thing you did and it didn't charge me tax either (NC).

Here's my case, I like it a lot. It's really good!
I haven't noticed signal decrease/loss and I live in a pretty bad signal area.
I thought I was gonna have that problem for sure but now that I don't have it I am so relieved. You can expect a huge and detailed review. Please give me any ideas and feel free to ask questions. Here are the pics:

I tried NC as well (my father lives there...used his zip code), and no tax was added. The only state I've found that it adds tax for is GA, which signals to me that they are based here. That's the only legit reason to charge sales tax for GA residents.

It lOOks as their still using version1 in some instances . But what a sharp color combo, with good signal strength taboot.

Did all your mods help with even more with your reception zornet? If so I'll try them as well.

8 day turn around.

Follow up to my earlier post.

Ordered on September 3rd. Got delivery notice on the 9th and my case was delivered yesterday.

I can't fault the service when it comes to delivery time. Now I'll have to see how it performs on the phone.

I have a Atomic case on the way right now! I will take some pictures when it shows up and let you all know how it performs. I have been in contact with the company and they are not a fake, they are a real legit company with excellent customer service from what I have seen so far. They actually answer emails in a timely manner and stand behind their cases. I will let you guys know how the case performs when it gets here. I will also post pics. Don't judge the company off their name or the way the case looks, I mean how many ways can a aluminum case actually look? I mean you have to get it on the phone somehow! It pretty much has to look the way it does in order for it to fit the phone. It also does not have any patting because it rests between the antenna and front of the screen. The case never touches the antenna, it sits on the side of the phone between the antenna and the front of the screen. Like I said, give me a few days and I will report back with pics and results. In the mean time, give the guys the benefit of the doubt.

Are you kidding me? Did you actually take the time the time to read this thread or at least part of it? Element hasn't earned a darn thing after this debacle. I owned the case for less than a day and knew that this case wouldn't work for me.

Gonz I'm feeling the insulation with the Shrink-Wrap was probably a bit of a overkill. But in slicing the lucky-labs wrap in width with an X-Acto knife & straight edge to fully cover antenna edges is IMO the way to do it. Along with the full interior of the Vapor insulated with your choice of 3M tape :).

I was not talking about element, I was talking about Atomic! I could care less about element.
