Protective about what? People should review their relationship with gadgets. It’s amazing for me the market of covers, protectors, shields…what’s the purpose? What’s the purpose of a case for AirPods? Why protect a tag? A disposable product, like any other thing manufactured these days.

I agree that screen protectors are nonsense these days with modern glass being super hard.

And what about when Version 2.0 of AirTags come out at a slightly different size? Did they design these to accommodate slight variants in size over time? Or are they literally disposable?

I'd also like to see an environmental report on these 3rd-party accessories. Are the materials used to create thems sourced responsibly?

Amazon actually is selling transparent plastic round circles to cover these things. It’s insane.

The Airtag accessory market is a total racket; nevertheless, I applaud those looking to offer differentiated products which appeal to various tastes. In the near future I anticipate $2 Airtag holders being strategically positioned by the chewing gum and lip ointment at Walmart.

I don’t think it’s a racket. $35 for a plastic iphone case is a racket. $6 for a key ring seems fine.

I want these things to put on heavy equipment, like tractors and trailers. I had a trailer stolen a few years ago and had thought about putting a Tile on it and never did, because I figured it would never get tracked out in a field somewhere with nobody having the Tile App. Anyhow, I would like these to lead to the meth house, so cops can get my equipment back. Hate that it would alert someone nearby, but we would get to it in time before it went off. No interest in stalking things (or people) that aren't mine--just trying to get it to work like a LoJack and recover thefts.

Awesome! But say goodbye to being able to hear the speaker lol.
Is the presumption the shell is sound proof or the speaker in the AirTag is so low in volume? Neither of those seem logical. It's a cheap plastic shell. It might muffle the sound of the speaker some, but I doubt it would completely obsure it.
I'm wondering if this would impact the U1 signal
It wouldn't seem the signal would be affected by thin plastic. A metal covering? Maybe. There'd be more interference if it was simply dropped in a purse or put in a backpack/luggage.

The looks like the holder to get if you want to put these on the collar of your animals, it should stand up to anything they put it through.

Ah yes, it was only a matter of time before someone made an impenetrable fortress out of new Apple's product. Spigen, I'll watch your career with a great interest.

no customization? shouldn’t they be paying me to advertise their company?

You mean like your....

... phone
... computer
... car or truck
... bicycle
... most running / exercise clothing
... athletic shoes
... dishwasher
... stove
... refrigerator
... clothes washer & dryer
... power tools

I'm curious how much is Apple, Samsung, Dell, Ford, Toyota, Trek, Brooks, Mizuno, Nike, Asics, GE, Frigidaire, Bosch, Maytag, etc. all paying you for the products bearing their branding?

What's different about these things from elevationlab?
