I'm so fscking sick of hearing about this girl. Really, she's nobody. She's very plain and boring and it's just sad that socially retarded, internet-obsessed shut-ins and horny teenage boys have clung to her for reasons intelligent people can't lower themselves to understand.

Fame is fleeting, everyone.

What is UP with people nowadays on MacRumors???

I quit posting for a few weeks, and when I come back its nothing but a bunch of angry jerk-offs who insist on saying they are sick oh hearing this and that.

Its a FORUM. You are going to hear nothing BUT 'this and that.'

If you are tired of Ellen Feiss, then dont click the post that says "Ellen Feiss Interviewed"

Are you a dumb-ass or WHAT? Jesus!

----------

Anyway, I got to read the article, and maybe ellen does have half a brain. It was late, after schol, no makeup, and on benadryl. Excuses enough for me.

She's my hero

Man, that chick rules. I've seen that commercial like 20 times and everytime she's says, "And I was like... buh..." I still laugh. She deserves all the fame she gets!!

I'm less interested in Ellen and more interested (morbidly so, I think) in all the crap that has generated from the ad. Its pretty sad, actually - but it was good reading about the interview, especially her comment about all the idiots who need to get a life.

Like Aaron says - Fame is fleeting. This will all pass away and we'll have something else to talk about in a year or so.

Silliness, all of it.

Hm....doesn't take a psychologist to notice that Aaron seems to maybe have a teensy-weensy bit of jealousy in this post? Maybe because his commercial isn't airing anymore? Or maybe because the macrumors welcome wagon when he came aboard has dwindled and begun posting in the official poop thread or this one?

Could he be projecting a lil' bit? I don't mean to be rude to the switch star... but man is that a caustic post. "really, she's nobody." is a little harsh. She's captured some folks' imagination, whether they're internet shut ins or not, and what's so wrong with that?

She's a dorky girl who's getting some attention. better her than, say Christina Aquilera or Britney or some other manufactured pop-star.

And Aaron, let me say from experience-- I think we're ALL a bit socially retarded, and it seems to me that your post exhibits that, yes, you're "socially retarded" as well.

Sheesh.

Maybe he just wants some socially retarded, internet-obsessed shut-ins and horny teenage girls to create a website dedicated to him.

Ellen's okay, but I like Janie Porsche better.

I agree. Janie has some joie de vivre. Very light-hearted and bright. Very cool. Something about that mega-watt smile.... :)

There was one ad... what was his name? Adam Aarons? I don't remember much. It was very dull and boring. Flat as a pre-teen girl. Just lacked any charisma and personality. He was plain and boring. I think it's more likely that the teenage girls might be more inclined to do as the boys do--make sites about Ellen Feiss. But i digress.

Ok. ok, duke. I just feel like it's pretty lame when someone attacks people who don't have the voice to speak up for themselves. I mean, i know it's a public forum. but still. The only line is the post that made sense was the whole fame is fleeting bit.

And, unfortunately, I'm brutally honest....

I knew someone would say this. It's simply not the case. I have no desire to be on MTV. I don't like Farelli Brotehrs movies. I have nothing to say to any late night talk show host.

I care about Apple. I want them to be successful. I want this ad campaign to do good things for a company I believe makes great computers. I don't want this entire campaign to be characterized by an underage girl doped up on Benadryl when so many other switchers have substanitive things to say.

Maybe because his commercial isn't airing anymore? Or maybe because the macrumors welcome wagon when he came aboard has dwindled and begun posting in the official poop thread or this one?

I got my 13 weeks of commercial time just like anyone else. And believe me, the welcome wagon is still out in full force.

Yes, its caustic because of the reasons I explained above.

And Aaron, let me say from experience-- I think we're ALL a bit socially retarded, and it seems to me that your post exhibits that, yes, you're "socially retarded" as well.

Sheesh.

I disagree.

agreed. considering ellen didn't bring the fame upon herself really. and yet she's being attacked and called a "nobody"...

sure, she doesnt' "deserve" a web page (or several) dedicated to her. but who does?

no need to go on a rant about how worthless she is... if anything. talk about how worthless the web site makers are.

but yeah, her ad is probably the most memorable, and that can create some jealousy i'm sure...

not sure what point the first paragraph had other than that she has talked to mtv. so? she's 15. you're how old? not exactly a direct comparison to be made there. as for caring about apple... all publicity is good for them. and clearly she's bringing about the most of any of the switch ads... sure, the network and unix guys are better to actually listen to their reasons. but there have to be some more consumer level commercials too. and this one clearly grabs attention...

I got my 13 weeks of commercial time just like anyone else. And believe me, the welcome wagon is still out in full force.

welcome! you rule! i'm going to make a t shirt with you on it.

don't want to get too big for your britches.

You're right, I'm not a star, nor do I pretend to be. I don't have an agent. I'm not in talks with MTV.

Some people disagree with your assesment of my performance, however.

I actually figured she was 13 or 14. I don't think she looks older. I'm only 24 but for some reason, anything under 20 seems like "just a kid".

Sh*t, i'm getting old, ahhhhhhh :(

I know how you feel, I just turned 25 a few months ago.

I know some "kids" her age, and she seems a lot like them. Of course, most of them ARE stoners. That's one of the things people like about her (not the stoner thing, the realism. Not that the Pot rumors didn't have something do with her popularity). Unlike Britney or Christina (have you seen them lately!?! Don't they realize people like my little 8 year old niece are watching them?) she seems like a real person. And unlike some people, seems kinda nice to boot (sure she insulted the Dell guy, but he deserves it. Plus it's probably in her contract to put him down publicly).

She's cute, but a little too young for me.

Like any of us ever had a chance (haven't built a web site to her, but I don't have a life). Hamilton you luck SOB. ;)

but see, you're not the only person in the demographic. Apple wants those underage teenage boys and girls to buy macs too. they either have the disposable income or the chutzpah to get mom and dad to buy them Macs. They're just as important as those with "substanitive" things to say.

And, from the sounds of it, the girl had no clue she'd be on TV. Maybe if she did, she wouldn't have planned to be doped on benadryl. And maybe she would have had a spot earlier in the day. There's too much we don't know to make assumptions about her being "doped" up and "how she has nothing substanitive" to say. This interview might be fake too. I mean, this is the internet.

Good for you. Let Ellen have her thirteen weeks of fame too. And if her's is more public than yours, realize that, in the end, y'all are just cogs in the Apple marketing machine's wheel. You served a purpose. Just as much as Ellen did and Janie did.

And I think you're reasons are a tad bit elitist and a tad bit shortsighted. Believe me, I'm a marketing guy. I know what demographics and cross-sections are. We need the ellen's of the world as much as the aaron's. Remember? We have 5% , now we're going after the other 95% thing? Come on aaron.

ok. yet you point out a webpage to show how great you are too.... thus only furthering the comparison of you to her....

sarcasm's fun... though it does seem you should take mike up on his offer for the brew...

girls tend to get more attention, that's how marketing goes. no need to take it so personally.

not worth the time brah

Cool. Though I still think you came down a bit too hard on poor ol' Ellen. It's not like she did this to herself.... You know?
