There so much Apple Music could do with this. It's a pity that they are focusing on established artists as opposed to new and fresh, something which the Apple Music Service said it was going to promote and encourage. Just another two days of new artists would help - especially as there are so few venues in and around London now.
Yeah, I kind of agree with this. I remember the first Apple festival I watched on AppleTV had a somewhat lesser known act open up for the established artist. They were both pretty much the same genre, so it was a great way to discover acts similar to those that you already knew about.
Who knows though--maybe they'll do the same this year and they're just trotting out the recognizable names to garner attention? We'll see....
Is it just me, or does it seem like Apple is single handedly driving the popularity of The Weeknd? Before he screwed up the lyrics to his own song at WWDC, I had no idea who he was, and now he is literally everywhere...
Enh, he was well on his way to stardom before WWDC. He was graduating from smaller venues to stadiums prior to getting the Apple spotlight shown on him. That said, having the Apple machine behind him is certainly not hurting.
I hate to have to agree. The list seems stale, and I don't get the constant worship they have of Pharrell Williams. He's got some catchy tunes, I'll give him that, but I'm flat out tired of hearing him. The same could be said for Mumford and Sons (whom I think lost their direction after their first album). Why not some rock, or someone new and fresh that's not a big thing yet?
I'm kind of tired of Pharrell's singing too. But he is a legend of modern, popular music. Granted, that status mostly is what it is because of his production skills. But go back and see the ridiculous number of hits his name is attached to. It's pretty crazy when you step back and think about how long he's been doing his thing (along with Chad from The Neptunes).
