Because he's not and he doesn't. Hes not respected he's Very rich, its his money that is respected not HIM. Also his sense of Internet culture reminds me of Internet in 1999-2001, now all he does is re-use memes.

I sold my shares today. Musk is massively hypocritical and overly sensitive to people that criticize him, he's just a VERY rich child. As a person, I find him to be trash.

Can you give me an example of a platform that allows all legal speech, or that has an open record of the reasoning behind all moderation actions? If it were easy, surely someone would have done it, and had at least a moderately successful platform by now. Perhaps some of the moderation decisions involve the confidential information of the person being moderated, or violate copyright law, and can't be disclosed.

I'm not saying there can't be some innovation around giving users more control over the content they see. For example, I'd like the ability to automatically mute anyone who mentions N*F*T or cryptocurrencies in their profile.
 
Elon will bring back Trump on Twitter.

Which will help Trump win in 2024.

Trump will immediately leave NATO.

And Putin will win the game he started in 2016.

All in the name of "free speech". Brilliant.

Actually I think this is a good opportunity for Apple to make its own twitter like thing, maybe just by adding features to imessage (i.e. message ”streams” that pretty much like twitter timelines) and focus on privacy

The 1st 3 were still CONSERVATIVES. Obama and Biden didnt start wars.

Also wars are usually started by CONSERVATIVES.

I doubt it will be easy or without issues, but his proposal is badly needed. We need to give him a chance. The current one sided club, the so-called moderation, is not sustainable.

Racist and white supremacist are being using to describe literally everyone that isn't a Democrat these days. And it's embarrassing when people overuse it now. It's lost all meaning. Even people that aren't white are being labeled white supremacists. The word woke is also being overused. Both sides are full of idiots.

I mean, I just live IRL, where people don't yell at each other despite twitting many capitalized words at each other.

It's indeed cozy. Everyone can try it, just mind your own business and live IRL, that's the trick. Going to a website that generates revenue by getting people engaged (ie furious) is not the rational way to look for happiness.

No its not. You're allowed to post it, doesn't mean that they are not allowed to take it down. Free speech only applies to the government not being allowed to limit your speech. Not private industry or other people.

You can say ANYTHING YOU WANT but it does not mean others have to hear it or be allowed access to it.
