And what if that tweet contains personal information (doxing) or infringes copyright? That can’t be the case. He is proposing using open source AI first, and a backup of humans. All moderation decisions publicly available as a record of the tweet. If he was treated differently, it would be part of the record.
Ah, but what are mistruths? How does one determine them without being all knowing? How do we know the arbiter of “truth” doesn’t have an agenda?I wouldn't have thought anyone was afraid to hear what others have to say. It is a worry when lies and mistruths and hatred are prevalent, however, when the constant repeating of them has a propound negative impact upon many millions of people.
Terms of service rules maybe. And what if that tweet contains personal information (doxing) or infringes copyright?
What if a Tweet is removed for reasons besides the content of the tweet? (like one person controlling several accounts). Revealing the info used to decide that could be a privacy violation. Or, if the algorithm for automatically removing posts like that is public, spammers can specifically tailor their tweets to avoid moderation.
And what the heck is open source AI?
If you want a low moderation service without liberals, you can just join Gab.I was so hoping this would happen. Looking forward to the great migration of the woke who are fleeing their (hopefully) upturned echo chamber. Having all voices be heard, regardless of how mean they may sound to you, is the definition of inclusion you pedants.
Very fair point.Who’s laws though? twitter has a global audience.
Has that happened on Gab? Have the best ideas found their way to the top?Ah, but what are mistruths? How does one determine them without being all knowing? How do we know the arbiter of “truth” doesn’t have an agenda?
Best to allow all ideas and speech, given it be lawful. The best ideas will find their way to the top.
Elon stated, laws for the country in with the content is seen. You have to think outside the box to counter the EM.Who’s laws though? twitter has a global audience.
One can easily block people who harass.Tell that to some of the women who've been run right off the platform by endless armies of disgusting behavior..
(among many examples)
If anything, what I see is folks not understanding just how freaking awful Twitter was at one point for many people and how much better it got over the last few years.
Reverting on any of that (if that's part of any plan here) is ... awful
I don't know what you mean by "Terms of service rules"
No idea, I don’t use it. I suspect it’s an echo chamber give that they haven’t attracted all viewpoints.Has that happened on Gab? Have the best ideas found their way to the top?

You’ll have to take that up with the man. He stated that it would be open source. Let’s hold him to the fire.I don't know what you mean by "Terms of service rules"
Yes, I know what open source is. But AI is trained on massive data sets of human generated content, and the reasons behind decisions AI makes can be indecipherable to humans. And if it is decipherable, it can be easier to game the system if you know the algorithms.
Too many voices have been erroneously and thoughtlessly censored.
musk's version of "two weeks."He also has plans to have fully self driving cars by then end of this year*
*"this year" being the year that you ask him when it'll happen.
And why do you think they haven’t been able to attract all viewpoints? No idea, I don’t use it. I suspect it’s an echo chamber give that they haven’t attracted all viewpoints.
Because they aren’t Twitter, the defacto town square. Next. And why do you think they haven’t been able to attract all viewpoints?
That's exactly the point. People were censored for spouting "misinformation" ... and several months later it turns out it wasn't disinformation. Twitter is specifically targeting those that don't agree with their ideologies, even if it turns out what was originally the supposed "truth" was actually false. And yet nothing is done about that when it's found out. Such as all the lies that Facebook was peddling ... and when they had to backtrack because it turned out the narrative they were pushing was indeed false, nothing was really done about it. Just them saying oops. And because of this ever-changing "information", people cannot be shunned for having differing viewpoints. How can anyone expect to have any sort of intelligent debate anymore if one side is entirely cut off from expressing their side? And even worse, people are afraid to speak up about very basic things in fear of being "canceled", so instead of having their own opinions and spines, they just go along whatever the current narrative or "truth is" ... and it stifles any and all chances at discussion. People that are in favor of all this excessive cancel culture need to go move to a country where they actually have no freedoms ... then come back and kiss the floor because they didn't realize they had it so good. It's disgusting and terrifying what's going right now. And anyone in support of this needs to really take a look at the bigger picture of what's going on. Those in power are able to gain more power by dividing and conquering people ... and setting them against one another. This Democrat vs Republican thing is absolutely asinine ... especially all of Biden's supposed desire to "make peace" ... and yet he's never stopped calling half the country racists, white supremacists, and terrorists. Even if millions of people don't agree with what the extreme right are doing, they still all get lumped into the same crowd. This Biden "unity" was nothing more than a talking point. The world is becoming absolute bananas.Ah, but what are mistruths? How does one determine them without being all knowing? How do we know the arbiter of “truth” doesn’t have an agenda?
Best to allow all ideas and speech, given it be lawful. The best ideas will find their way to the top.
Twitter certainly doesn't, so what point are you trying to make? Twitter is currently an echo chamber. That needs to change. You can't have a social platform where only certain ideas and viewpoints are allowed. Period. I think Trump is an absolute moron, but censoring a sitting President is tyrannical ... and puts the power of social media above all others. It's terrifying and you should be terrified.Does Gab have a wider array of voices? Does the speech on Gab more accurately represent the beliefs of humans?
Oh, I’m not speculating. Any platform can be abused. If a person can be harassed in real life then they can be harassed digitally as well. It’s unfortunate but it happens (to everybody, BTW, not just those you mentioned). Not when they come at you in unbelievable numbers
Again, don't speculate - there's no need - ask some women (or gays or any minority, etc) who've been on the other side of this.
Please do your own research. Please back that up with some sourcing.
Who has been censored?
About what? Where? When?
Twitter has terms of service - if you violate that, you are going to be reprimanded.
Other social media platforms have come and gone. But my point has more to do with the diversity of viewpoints, rather than the size of the platform.Because they aren’t Twitter, the defacto town square. Next.
This is why it's so important for things to change with Twitter. Because Twitter is the biggest ... and there aren't really any competing platforms. There probably won't ever be. It's too big. Change needs to happen at the top.Other social media platforms have come and gone. But my point has more to do with the diversity of viewpoints, rather than the size of the platform.
