And how many Supreme Court justices were appointed by Trump in his single 4-year term?

Three?

Also federal appointments... again in just 4 years:

That does not qualify as "packing the Supreme Court," which is defined as expanding the number of justices, which would change the rules and norms we've had in place for a century and a half. The Supreme Court has had nine justices since 1869.

All this means is that Trump and Mitch McConnell were exceptionally good at getting judges approved.

Facts matter.

I care so little about Twitter… that all of this is seen more as entertainment than anything else.
Getting the 🍿 ready! Curious to see where this ends.

What's important to realize is that tools can be used for different purposes. To some, it may just be a social network. To others, it's a way to quickly share updates to a large population. As a software and network engineer owner, I rely on Twitter to access status updates from countless companies around the world. If there's an outage, Twitter is a great place to learn about that and converse with the company.

Respecting Tim Cook?
Whaaa?

C’mon man. Plenty of others respect Tim Cook. I’ve been one of his strongest supporters of this entire site for years, and even in the midst of all of these people doubting his leadership, yet; he’s still here taking the company to new heights. Now, I understand it doesn’t make him ‘president worthy’, but he’d have my vote if he did. That’s all I’m saying.

What a sick, deranged individual you must be to think this way to not be concerned for the well being of your fellow man. This is the essence of the leftist brainwashing that is espoused by the mainstream media.
I was glad to see that the others condemning this post didn't use it to condemn everyone of a certain political view or claim it was representative of that group. Oh well.
I'm somewhere on the left half of the US political spectrum. I don't wish for the death of Republicans.

An entire party can definitely be labelled as hateful. I'm not American, I don't care about American politics, I was just explaining the example to you because you seemed to really be struggling.

Great, so the you are on record as believing that every single member of a political party is guilty of the sins of every other member of the party? Got it.

I'm not struggling at all to understand you.

EV haters welcome the Twitter purchase because they hope it will distract Musk's attention so that Tesla declines.
I don't understand hate of electric cars. No matter your views on environmentalism, they are excellent cars.
It's not like going vegan where you give up a tasty class of food. It's almost all upside with electric. Not that there aren't currently *any* downsides, but they are clearly better than ICE in many ways.

It may be that I lack social media knowledge, and that’s why I don’t get it.

Then of course we have Dorsey...who seems to have all the conviction and backbone of a wet noodle..
(and who also is a billion dollars richer as a result of this...)

I can agree to a lot of these points. Hopefully the new owners can make it work out for the better in general.

Myself I phased out of Facebook, IG, Twitter et al in general because even something as simple as a purely mathematical or even Computer Graphics related post (i.e completely apolitical) sooner or later rots to a political, religious or moral ideals (you’re wrong, I’m right) debate.

A lot of the software and game assets companies I follow happen to use Discord for support, which surprisingly people tend to be quite civil in there (maybe it’s the dark UI color scheme?), the chat is usually live, voice/video chat channels available, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I still click on a link or two that is sent my way… but I stop browsing as soon as Twitter or Instagram tells me that should sign up, login, etc “for infinite goodness”.

Just a reminder that less content moderation ≠ more free speech.

It just means that the speech of the vulnerable, the harassed, and the targets of hate speech will be silenced, or at least chilled

Elon has a long hill to climb to prove that he now cares about the fair, but perhaps not favorable, views of everyone, particularly as they relate to him and his companies personally.

The "the vulnerable, the harassed, and the targets of hate speech" retain even without aggressive moderation, the same options anyone else does: choose to respond boldly, or choose not to feed the trolls, or, although the loss of their input may be detrimental, unfollow harassers or cancel their account and avoid the forum entirely.

The same applies in a literal public square: sometimes it IS prudent to just walk away.

Apparently you missed the news... JFK is coming back to run with trump in 2024. The GQP was even waiting for him in Dallas a while back
I know you're trying to be funny but it's not working– joking about the assassination of an American president is a not laughing matter.

Very true. Nobody has to hang out in the town square if they do not like it. But everybody has a right to be there.

Not my words. Read better.

I'm not American though, and I don't really care about American politics

Given that you make blanket generalizations about an entire political party from a country you don't live in and profess not to care about the politics of I have a hard time finding any value in any of your words.

PS - keep up the laughing emoji, we all appreciate the +1s 🤣 BTW, per your buddy @turbineseaplane that is trolling

When it goes south between users, it's incredible how much "pleasure" some take in just "down voting" or "angry reacting" to anything you post. I honestly consider it a form of trolling... just a net negative for the experience here.

it's great to be able to completely ignore those types of users...but you're having to see them go "laugh" at things (to troll) and "dislike" or "frowny face" over and over and over again on everything...

My mistake... I should have done a little more research before I posted. I'm sorry.

(don't you wish most internet users would admit that?)

I'll bite...

In the spring of 2020, the areas recording the greatest numbers of deaths were much more likely to vote Democratic than Republican. But by the third wave of the pandemic, which began in fall 2020, the pattern had reversed: Counties that voted for Donald Trump over Joe Biden were suffering substantially more deaths from the coronavirus pandemic than those that voted for Biden over Trump. This reversal is likely a result of several factors including differences in mitigation efforts and vaccine uptake, demographic differences, and other differences that are correlated with partisanship at the county level....

During this third wave – which continued into early 2021 – the coronavirus death rate among the 20% of Americans living in counties that supported Trump by the highest margins in 2020 was about 170% of the death rate among the one-in-five Americans living in counties that supported Biden by the largest margins.

As vaccines became more widely available, this discrepancy between “blue” and “red” counties became even larger as the virulent delta strain of the pandemic spread across the country during the summer and fall of 2021, even as the totalnumber of deaths fell somewhat from its third wave peak.
I like how this proves that Democratic areas recorded the greatest numbers of deaths in the early stages of pandemic. Cuomo and other Democratic governors forcing Covid patients into nursing homes is one reason. Continued lockdowns were another, which forced large families to quarantine together and thus contract the virus.

Not taking the vaccine was the choice of those living in a free country.

Either way, this post doesn't justify the hate of the OP's comment.
