My guess is he is preparing the way for a tiered twitter account system and doesn’t want to pay Apple 30% of subscription.
Does Elon know that Google charges the same 30% fee in the Google Play Store?
Oh right... Android has sideloading and alternative app stores... even though hardly any developer uses them.
I guess it's worth it to stay in the Google Play Store and continue to pay Google's 30% fee.

My advice for Elon and Twitter... send people to their website to subscribe.
It worked for Netflix, Spotify, Amazon, etc.

We gotta crack down on big grocer they’re just fleecing anyone who walks in with what they’re charging. Curious that no supermarket dramatically lowers their prices to usher in all the customers from other greedy grocers in the area. Would think there’s a real opportunity there with as much profit fat as is on the bone that someone could charge half as much and still make it a worthwhile thing

Saying App Store Fees need to be 1.5% to 3% is just insane. First of all, CC processing fees are at least that much. Second of all, is Apple supposed to offer all the download bandwidth for free? And the provide the Store itself for free? And not making any money at all off of products sold in this store? Imagine telling that to any other company.
He also said they would never be a walled garden, but they literally lock down features like self driving that are installed no your car by making you pay $12,000 for a feature that has been delayed for years and isn't even available yet. Can I install my own self driving software from Waymo? He also said one time something about how one day Teslas will be too expensive for anyone but the rich to buy and we'll all use them as robotaxis subscriptions as a service. Don't believe for a minute that this dude wouldn't nickel and dime the living hell out of you. He's the richest man in the world (nearly double Jeff Bezos at this point) for a reason. He does not have your best interests at heart.

The "store itself" is completely unnecessary mind you
It really just benefits Apple to aggregate everything there and control what gets seen and charge people for ADs just so their own App can show up along side others bidding against them (again, all benefitting Apple)
App review is a continual hot mess, and all they are really reviewing for is "compliance with Apple business terms". All manner of scams and IP theft continue to exist and print money in the Apple iOS App Store and they never do even remotely enough about it. Hell - they have scam apps on various "top" charts!
All of this gets routinely pointed out to Apple and the scams all just continue

That is just simply not the case. If you built a software platform, I bet you would charge a fee to maintain it. This stuff isn't free, you know?

So buy a Honda or a Geo Metro. Problem solvedTesla charges a HUGE premium for a car that has worse paint than any Honda and worse build quality than a Geo Metro. Seriously, the panel gaps are horrendous and the paint generally comes from the factory orange-peeled. There are frequently missing and mis-fit trim pieces.
Yes their customers are dumb enough to accept that and defend it.
I'm sure he'll cut the premium markup on all Tesla products.
wait until Apple brings out the new Mac Pro, reckon the Tesla will look to be good value at that point… Tesla don’t charge a thousand for the wheels either…
