I don't know whether if, in your ramblings through battered texts of ancient legends you ever came across the story, a tragic tale, of King Midas. There is such a thing as too much gold, you know...

Just a warning I do not recommend anyone open the chest the treasure was in. I REALLY had to go and it seem like a good location.

A whole new dynamically radical interpretation of the legend of King Midas, one that the soi-disant socialists among us can take some heart from.

But, a question occurs: Does gold become ordure, or ordure gold? How can we tell the dancer from the dance? We're back to black and white and the zebra crossing......such philosophical questions tantalise and tease the mind.

What a splendid metaphor, for which I must thank you, Rodimus.

Bad guys done.

Time to make your moves!

can you please update the map when you get a chance?

we are in the 2G hall, so pretty much the only move we have next is going to the 2F hall, then we can decide to go in 2P and down the stairs to 1D or 2B->2A and down the stairs to 2A, depending on which side of the house we want to end up in.

Do you think Jav and SS might have sneaked some goons in the rooms explored by Moyank? is it worth for her to do a "grand tour" (rooms 2B, 2K, 2M,N,O,P and 2T/U, to double check?

I've thought about this, but all that does is delay the inevitable and give us more chance to level up and collect things. The longer this drags on, the more powerful we get, so what's the incentive for avoiding us?

I'm in favor of 2F --> 2P and down.

Am I the only one still curious and a little confused by the 2U inside of 2T? I'm just wondering if something is in 2U.

as with all the rooms we have not directly visited, that is my interpretation of moyank's narration and extrapolation from what is known from the available official maps.
i don't know how accurate it is, maybe it is misleading to treat them as two separate rooms.
I can eliminate "2U" and depict it as a single room, with a wall in the middle

That includes my Don's work schedules, our original Enforcer going MIA, personal & work related 'stuff' for me....and that is only on our side.

Nevertheless, a warm welcome awaits our uninvited intruders.......

Sorry everyone, it's been a heck of a day.

Round 8
- Turn 1: Exit current room and enter the hallway 2F
- Turn 2: Exit hallway 2F and enter room 2P (the one with stairs going down)

"Shouldn't we try the key on those doors?"

"Screw that, it won't work, anyway," the bombs guy said as he walked back down the hallway towards the door at the end.

As the others followed, Don't panic hung back and tried the key on the door nearest him, opposite the room with the safe.

The key turned.

"Hey--"

But everyone else has already left the hallway. Don't panic had no choice but to follow. When he went through the door, the last of his companions are entering another door to his right. He had no choice but to follow.

BAD GUYS' TURN!

Do we think there's anything to the narrative about the key working on a door? Is that worth considering or does everyone just want to go downstairs?

i thouht the narrative were only for entertainment, but thinking ove it might be infotainment: for example raven did mention that the home had undergone modifications and the first floor map was correct, while the second floor was completely wrong
i suppose we should always test any locked door with the key(s) available and probably moyank should check into any adjacent open room for goons (even if we had explored it earlier

plus if the key we do have can open other doors, there are others we did not try

I can. I did. And the room is empty.

very well then
what do you think? go down or back to check all the locked doors?
it's also possible that unlocking the door is chance-based, although the narration is not very conducive to that (key did't fit)
how many/which doors did we check with the key?

we really shoul have thought about 'officially' testing the key those two weeks we spent in that hall

We're going to feel really stupid if we end up going downstairs and we could have unlocked one of the doors upstairs. Conversely, if we stay and try every door and fail, we're going to feel really stupid as well.

In closing, I'm no help at all. :D

Yeah, I'm not sure if Ravenvii is giving us direction or just being colorful with the narrative. But, putting that in there about the key working is pretty specific and serves no purpose if it's just color commentary.

True, I'm starting to think we should just finish searching upstairs. Then if we don't find anything, we can head back down. Rather than going down, looking, and then having to come back up once again.
