Epic is just being dumb. Twitch has the same deal with Apple. If you purchase Cheer Bits through the Twitch app, you will pay a lot more because the of the fee to Apple. If you log into your Twitch account using your browser and buy Cheer Bits, you will avoid the fee. It's the exact same thing with Fortnite. If you buy your V-bucks using the app, you'll pay the Apple fee. If you log in to your account using your web browser and buy your V-bucks, you will avoid the Apple fee.

I wonder how much money Epic has lost? Why wouldn't they just do the 30% and get back in the store? It's the cost of doing business with Apple users. Raise the price 30% and put your stuff back in the store. Apple has had this in place for a long time.
This is purely anecdotal evidence but now and then I hear my kids talk about games with each other or their friends. This used to be about Fortnite quite often. I haven't heard them talk about it in months ...

Unless he is summoned via a subpoena.... neither Epic nor Apple can force Mr. Forstall to testify.

How the hell is Epic going to "entice" Forstall to testify anyways?

EPIC: "Hey Scott, uhh.... we pay you $200,000 and you testify favorably for us, mkay? Say bad things about Tim, mkay?"

NOPE! Doing that would be akin to bribing a witness, most likely illegal, and would invalidate Epic's case.

Hehehe. This looks like mafia stuff. Sorry “We don’t have the phone number of our previous VIP that worked with the Jobs teams since 1992? No one knows him here, no friends, nothing ... He left and no one talks with him now, so we can’t find him even though is producing broadway shows?” What’s next? “A run to the Caribbean?”.

Probably a lot. When the shareholders find out about the hole this litigation leaves in the accounts, this lawsuit will be dropped. It is a questions of waiting for the next quarter' earnings call or the financial year results.

So if court documents show that Apple was originally supposed to handle the logistics of depositions is the implication they are now refusing to do so?

Epic Games could always hire a detective instead of asking Apple about the contact details of a vice president that left the company more than 10 years ago. He left the company as millionaire. He can be anywhere.

What I find truly surprising is that most people commenting on any article related to the Epic case don't seem to be aware that the trial hasn't started yet. It won't start until May.

Epic Games and the Search for Scott Forstall. Good movie.

I don't think Epic is going to get what they're claiming they're looking for by trying to 'locate' Forstall. It's all a big publicity stunt and they think that if one of the men behind iOS and Apple's success with it trashes the company publicly it'll tarnish Apple's reputation. I hope they don't find him, no need for him to testify. It'd be a waste of his and everyone else's time at this point. How Epic went from the company behind Gears of War to this baby-in-crib tantrum I have no idea. They're pure crap now.

It's Apple and Tim Cook fault for not improving the policy of app store. That's why Apple board of directors needs to rehire Scott Forstall which knows how to repair the problem.

Tim Cook is a bean counter and his leadership skill doesn't include new product innovation.

Since he isn’t a party and isn’t an employee of a party, the point is epic will subpoena him. If he refuses to comply, a court will decide.
