Pass the savings on to consumers? No Fortnite currency will cost the exact same and Epic will pocket the 30%.

There will never be a discount passed along to gamers….. ever.

That's literally what Epic did though...

An Example worth sharing ? ... you decide.

Moving forward this is how I see things playing out.

For Epic & ALL third-party App Devs !

This is just one IAP Pricing example:

$3.59 / $5.99 = 40% discount when buying from a third-party website !

Epic, much like Facebook, is trying to create some sort of moral ground for their stance, but anyone with half a brain can see that its all about taking a bigger "lion's share." If epic really cared about its customers, they would put the app back in, and put the links to sign up on their website. Claiming it's until they can"passing along the savings to consumers" is pretty transparent and petty. Especially since they now have the ability to do exactly what their app was banned for.

Hey Epic, why have you intentionally punished MacOS fortnite players by making the new season and updates unavailable despite being easily able to implement your own payment method through the MacOS app which is available on your own external store?

We can forgive the absence of the iOS version given all that is happening with the dispute, but there has never been anything stopping you to continue to support willing and paying customers from playing up-to-date Fortnite on their Mac.

To add insult to injury, MacOS Fortnite players are still welcomed with a #FreeFortnite spiel upon opening the game, pleading for sympathy despite none of what is happening with the Apple dispute having to affect the MacOS version of the game in any way.

EPIC is voluntarily punishing MacOS players unnecessarily just to spite Apple, with complete disregard for player loyalty and fans of the game.

This seems more like Epic trying to use their position to force an even sweeter deal at Apple’s expense. There’s merit in arguing the 30% fee, but I don’t think the courts is the right process. Remove your apps and find a better deal, and use public opinion in your favor. That’s if they even have it, which I’m not sure they do.

With the Pandemic in 2020 Apple’s total revenue was $274.52 Billion.
Given Days divided by hours, by minutes, then seconds Apple earned
roughly $265,650 USD every 30 seconds. 😏
Wow you must be a blast at parties. So 6 million in 22min .….still peanuts.

"Fortnite will return to the iOS App Store when and where Epic can offer in-app payment in fair competition with Apple in-app payment, passing along the savings to consumers,"

So when I go to the shop to buy a pair of shoes, I should be able to buy the shoes from the shop who are stocking the item for you, giving them a cut, or buy directly from you "in fair competition", cutting the shop out, even though I bought them from that shop and that shop has paid the overheads on stocking and selling your shoes for you. And then you brand it as "passing the savings along to consumers"

This Sweeney guy is off his head.

Sweeney also knows that his claim to pass savings on to consumers is unenforceable if he reneges.
