Well, Nokia and Sony Ericsson were once huge, but they failed to align with the changing market. However, Apple and other companies might face similar problem sooner or later as demand for smartphones cripples or some sort of “next big thing” comes out, either AI based or not.
I think there is a huge potential for Europe’s tech revival, which could happen if Apple raises prices once again or Europe is hit with some sorts of tariffs by Trump administration for whatever reason they choose. I think first option is more likely since Apple is already preparing customers for global price hikes with current iPhone lineup, and 2026 lineup will be even pricier, and Europe unfortunately will feel it at most due to Apple’s weird pricing policy (how can smartphone made in China/India/Vietnam cost 500$ more than in US, taxes? How come if they enter the market straight from said countries. I don’t see any reason except that Apple wants to earn more money
