Hey everyone,

I pre-preordered my iPhone 17 Pro Max two days ago and in the instructions it said that I should come back to the homepage yesterday when the preorders start and click on the cart icon to finish the process.

When I did that, there was a message at the top saying that I have saved an iPhone for preorder (see screenshot). I clicked on it, completed the missing steps, and it looks like the preorder process went through without issues but what's confusing me is that the message is still displayed when I click on the cart icon.

Is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Now that we’re getting closer to shipping, can anyone list he various ways to find you order on UPS before it shows up.

Shimmer and Rose Blush 😅 what did you choose?

Hope it looks good on a green phone lol
Rose blush as well and the Mocha Mousse and the pearlized white ☺️ I’m getting the silver 17 PM so I think of those 3 I will probably enjoy the rose blush best.

I think both those options will look nice with the sage green ☺️

I mean that's not shocking at all. Not everyone wants to spend $999 (or more for us in Europe) for a phone that has 1 mediocre-good camera, 1 speaker and mediocre battery life especially when last year for the same price we could get a Pro iPhone that had everything better except one thing - it had less storage.
I don’t think that’s why Air pre-orders may not have been as high as the other phones (we don’t know how many phones were manufactured for the launch date).

People who pre-order an iPhone are overwhelmingly phone nerds who tend to be persuaded by things like GPU core count and therefore gravitate to the Pro models.

The Air is aimed at normies. Rich, style-conscious, status-aware normies, but not tech geeks. Not people who can list the weight of every iPhone back to the X from memory.

The Air will live or die on longterm sales.

The Pro will disproportionately sell to early adopters.

The regular 17 will disproportionately sell for Christmas.

Etc.

That’s not to say I think the Air will be a huge success. I personally think it’s too heavy. But I suppose Apple was terrified of suffering another bendgate.

What surprises me is how few people in the thread poll have said they will get the regular 17.

Just 6.8%!

This phone is a geek’s dream, with big tech upgrades across the board: display, silicon, cameras. Huge battery life – practically the same as the heavier Pro. Nearly as light as the Air. Double the storage of the 16 for no price increase, which is very different from the Pro that got a price increase along with its storage increase. Low risk of major problems, since it’s built on an established chassis design.

Its weakness is that it looks like the old iPhone 16, so it doesn’t have much novelty value.

But I thought people here would appreciate its apparently strong function and huge value for money.

Prices are always cheaper in the US, mostly because of VAT in Europe (US prices don’t include sales tax and their sales tax – which is added at order time – is lower than European VAT). The cost of doing business in Europe is higher than the US for many reasons.

If it’s any consolation, your price in RO is a little lower than mine in NL – I guess because your VAT is a little lower (19%, like DE) versus 21% in NL.
Not anymore, regarding VAT, just got increased to 21% as well. 🤪

I know they advertise prices without VAT in the US still, without VAT is considerably more expensive here, BUTT… given the crazy times we live in, only a 40€ increase over last year (at least here) for the same phone it’s decent I’d say.

Is your order in your account? Under orders? Did you get an email confirmation?

Wish I had the will to stop my desire of having the best phone when upgrading, for someone who’s had the base iPhones in the past, this year’s iPhone 17 is the best iPhone in my opinion when you consider the price.
What you don’t get are the telephoto, 2 mics, and usb 3.0 speed, the rest are gimmicks like 120fps slo-mo.. (compared to the iPhone 17 Pro)

Good thing about Ideal of Sweden is they usually have sales at least 3-4 times a year so you could always pick one up later :D
I actually didnt order on their site. Im currently looking at their shop and there are even more cases I didnt see before.... now Im crying because there are so many cases i want. 🤣🤦‍♀️

Yeah, it shows up and I also got an email confirmation. I hope everything goes smoothly, I was just confused because it still said that I have an iPhone saved for preorder. And it was the first time that I pre-preordered an iPhone. But it looks like it's just a bug (when I click on it, I get the message that nothing is saved).

Orderd the Air which is scheduled on the 19th. Got second thoughts and ordered the 17Pro (I'm coming from a 16 PM)
And that will arrive between 29 and 5 oktober.

Got an orange Pro Max yesterday (no pre-preorder), delivery 6-13 October. Italy.
