sadly didn't get to catch the whole contest and vote counting... the finnish victory was well deserved ...
that aside i kinda liked the norway and danish entry somehow but i only remember them darkly (i was putting together some IKEA stuff simultaneously )
and another one i don't remember at all.. (because of the 2 beers i had to drink afterwards)

Well I'm about to go watch the final at a friend's place, but I must say I'm shocked Finland won. As bizarre as their act was, I didn't think it was worthy of winning.

Generally I found it quite disappointing compared to the last few years. Far too many slow, boring, "meh" songs in my opinion.
The Finnish song is actually starting to grow on me after the initial shock due to their appearance. I was a bit disappointed that Ukraine and Croatia didn't do better. The worst was easily Lithuania and I can't believe anybody voted for them!!!
Sakis and Maria lived up to Eurovision hosting standards. Maria annoyed me immensely due to her ridiculous faked accent...amazing!
I wasn't happy that they cut down the voting procedure - that's usually the most hilarious part of the night.
Even though it wasn't the best I'll still buy the CD and DVD, because I'm sad like that.

Yeah, I'll likely be getting the DVD too. I know what you mean about the voting, but the trouble with eastern Europe at the moment is that every time you wake up in the morning, another country has split into two or more pieces, so there's too many voting panels now. With the old way, we wouldn't have finished until 2am at the earliest.
I'm surprised the German song did so bad. I thought that was really catchy. C&W obviously never caught on behind the Iron Curtain.

It's quite popular in parts of the UK and they love it in Ireland.

Although both the Serbian and Latvian entries are belters too. I think it's between those three as they're all in big voting blocs.
P.S. I keep telling you. Daz is an honorary Manc. Before he did that song, County were good!!!
