Great read on current jailbreaks

Like many, I have not had Cydia since the iPhone 4S. Looking at some new and unknown apps, I found a great read. I hope this isn't against any rules - directing to links, but check this out. very detailed with pictures. Enjoy!:apple:

There are a few already posted in this thread.

Keep in mind that installous is no longer working but you should be able to find appsync to install apps that you have in iTunes.

It was back when I had my iPad jailbroken a couple months back. It's been awhile since I last grabbed it, but I don't think it's available from the main Cydia repositories. You have to add one in manually to get it.

Okay, I found the proper source (I'm new to Cydia; I thought I was basically just an alternate App store.) But the author has two different apps. There's DOSPad and iDOS 2. Anyone with some experience know which one is better and easier for playing old DOS games?

This could be completely unrelated, but 5 minutes after running the JB, my Mac screen went black and I had to shut it down and power it back up.

This has never happened before. Anyone else see anything similar or was that just a massive coincidence?

Forces?

Last time I checked I was still able to purchased whatever product I choose to from any given company, nobody is forcing you to do anything, you freely chose iOS.

"Forces" is actually largely correct. Apple is proud of having about 50% of the smartphone market in the US, plus if you have already invested in other Apple products, not going with an iPhone makes life just a tad more difficult.

The fact that you cannot replace the primitive keyboard in (non-jailbroken) iOS is alone ridiculous.

I am still hopeful for an Apple TV 3 jailbreak, but if there isn't one, my next box will end up being something else (and with Google pushing for an open alternative to AirPlay, the little media boxes may just be what causes many to trade their iPads for Android tablets).

Just don't unlock them. The Department of Cell Phone Enforcement will come pay you a visit.

If I remember correctly, I believe that this only applies to iPhone 5 and later. It does not apply to iPhone 4s and earlier.

I am using Sprint and if come October 2013 when my contract is up and Sprint will not unlock my iPhone 4s for GSM/CDMA in the US, I am going to jailbreak my iPhone 4s so that I can unlock it. Frankly, Sprint has horrible data speeds. What's the point of having a unlimited data plan if you can't get any usable data speeds.

Tethering charges are nothing more than a lame, transparent attempt to price gouge and doublecharge us for absolutely no benefit to us. You're not "stealing" anything at all!

My old ISP back in the States tried to limit my internet connection to one MAC address; back then a big selling point of some routers was the ability to spoof a MAC address to bypass that restriction. I bought one of those routers (a Linksys, IIRC) and was able to share my internet connection between several devices (a desktop PC, laptop, and an iPaq with PCMCIA card attachment - anyone remember those?!) ... The point is, 12 years ago some ISPs only allowed a single device to access the internet, but companies like Linksys made it possible to get around that restriction and nobody cared. Why is when people try to do the same thing on their iPhones, the moral police show up in full force and talk about how bad it is? Just curious, really.

You can call it whatever you want, but there are hard working people in the world that don't violate thier contract and steal tethering. By you choosing to steal it without reservation, the implication is that the people who ARE choosing to do the right thing and abide their agreement are somehow suckers for doing so.

I wonder how many people admit to Apple they have violated their warranty when they have an issue (related or not) and they need warranty work?

I guess that's ok to steal that too?

Look, I really don't care what anyone does with their life if they don't matter to me. The world is full of hypocrites, liars, and people who steal. Whatever floats your boat...

Haha, I bet you hate net neutrality too.

So i updated to cydia. But how do i restore back to my regulor iOS?.
i did make a backup, connect to itunes and click restore backup?

this jailbreak is garbage. it goes like 50% of the way and then just freezes every time.

Tell me how is that a thief, he paid for 5 GB of Data. Thats 5GB reserved for him to use. Whats it matter what device its downloaded to, or what it is used for. He paid for 5GB. By this mentality you have if you pay for 5GB and don't use it all, then you should be refunded since you didn't utilize their network for what you paid for.

If you pay for 5GB of data ON YOUR PHONE and hack your phone to be able to share some of it with your iPad in order to circumvent the pricing scheme to charge for that option, what would you call it?

They also had this blackout during the recent football event in New Orleans.... ;)

i looked at a few videos, and people tell me to click install on for instance, ncsettings. I do that, but i get some error message... very odd..:(

The error message is because right now cydia is overloaded because everyone wants to use it today
