Ever get that thing where you miss the buzz of bidding on eBay Watch Bands, so you put bids in on things you don’t really want? But every now and then you actually win some of them?
I’m now the proud owner of a bundle of three Sport Loops. I don’t even collect Sport Loops, but despite that I already have one of them!
Is there much of a market for 44mm Gen 1 Red Sport Loops? I may have to sit on the 2019 Pride Loop for a bit. And as for Pink Sand... What was I thinking??
Yep, that's the one. I'm really sorry - it looks like my idle fingers ruined a bargain for you. I sincerely apologise. The charging stand will be going to the charity shop, but the Pride Loop will be available soon...Was this the auction with the pink charging stand and charger?I stuck a cheeky £35 bid on it mainly for the Pride loop, but think you got a very good deal for only a little bit over that!!
Don't worry, all's fair in love, war, and eBay watch band auctions...Yep, that's the one. I'm really sorry - it looks like my idle fingers ruined a bargain for you. I sincerely apologise. The charging stand will be going to the charity shop, but the Pride Loop will be available soon...
I'm not sure you're allowed to say that here...so didn't need any more!
Does anybody know when Apple stopped selling their leather loops in those thick plastic boxes? Was it only the first season they were used?

My friend had this exact issue with his first Gen black was brand new in box. Seems it was a defect on some of the black bands. My first gen black sport bands top coat started “peeling” after two days of wear.. I googled it and it seems a few people mentioned this problem in 2015![]()
When they got rid of the plastic case for the watch, the band cases went too. So yeah, after series 0.Yea I think that was 1st Gen only. My 1st Gen Leather Loop came with that box. They cut cost down after that, realizing maybe that was overkill on their part.
series 0*When they got rid of the plastic case for the watch, the band cases went two. So yeah, after series 1.
I just find it a bit funny that the most expensive band Apple sells (non-inclusive of Hermes) comes in the same packaging as the cheapest, a $400 price jump. At least they still give you the tiny microfiber pouch, though!Yea I think that was 1st Gen only. My 1st Gen Leather Loop came with that box. They cut cost down after that, realizing maybe that was overkill on their part.
Right, forgot that the second Gen was actually series 1. Classic Apple.series 0*
My S1 came in a box, no plastic case. So, yeah, they axed them after the first gen was replaced with the S1 & S2 in late 2016, coincidentally right around the time this thread was created.
what if... hear me out.... what if Apple actually does care for the environment???I recall Apple making a big deal about more eco-friendly packaging on all products a few years ago. And we all know "eco-friendly" translates to "higher profit margins" in Wall Street Speak.
I'm sure they do. Tim Cook is very active in environmental causes. But he's also not immune to the whispers of Apple's investment bankers. This move is definitely a "two birds, one stone" situation. But having worked on Wall Street for several decades I'm prone to following the money.what if... hear me out.... what if Apple actually does care for the environment???
And not that it isn’t also a money thing, smaller boxes make insane crazy launch shipments go betterI'm sure they do. Tim Cook is very active in environmental causes. It’s no coincidence that these “sustainability” measures are also cost-cutting measures. You don’t hear about what these companies are doing about planned obsolescence of their products. Thankfully Watch Bands won’t be obsolete...unless Apple changes the connector.Oh, it's a win-win-win situation for sure. But publicly traded companies never ignore the money angle. They can't. They are legally bound to operate in the best interests of shareholders. They have some leeway in deciding what is in the best interest of shareholders, long term vs short term decisions, etc. But even at Apple, the world's first trillion dollar company, maximizing profit margins is an imperative.
Royal pulse sport band is kind of like Surf Blue’s cool older cousin who smokes cigarettes in hs and never takes his toque off (don’t call it a beanie)
Like Apple has never changed a connector. 😀It’s no coincidence that these “sustainability” measures are also cost-cutting measures.
