Yeah the 2-tone loops are certainly polarizing. The only one I like is the Alaskan Blue, and that’s mainly because it mirrors the 2-tone blue of the Solar Dial face really nicely. What has been more interesting to me about this particular season has been its staying power. To my knowledge, this is the first season that has stayed on Apple’s website (even if not always in stock) for a full year. I don’t know how much of that has to do with COVID. But it is an interesting change from the “buy it now before it sells out in a month” mentality of past releases.
As I’ve said a few times I don’t think it’s covid-related at all and just a new opinion from Apple to make the store experience better by having bands be in stock all year and not sending people to the “bad experience” of the secondary market. My bet is we see fall20 in stock through summer21

Can you post a picture of your orange stripe woven nylon? Hard to see from that picture but it looks like the stripes on your band are much more blue than the band I received last week. The stripes on my band are straight up purple.
can you tell me about the Chinese New Years nylon? when you say interesting... I've tried to find as many photos online on it to make a decision one way or the other but I've only found a few. does the gold shimmer in the light, is it more red IRL(to where the gold gets lost, or does it just look yellow when seen from afar)? its so hard to tell which way it goes from the online photos.
Here are some outside shots for both of you. Yes, my orange stripe is definitely blue, not purple. Chinese New Year does shimmer in the light. I tried making you a gif but the compression makes it almost impossible to see. IRL it’s definitely got distinct gold and red fibers, neither one really overpowers the other. From a distance it just looks like a reddish orange, but even from maybe 10 feet away you can tell it’s a Chinese New Year over, say, Spicy Orange.

Thanks! Yeah that is fairly close to mine (though I still swear the stripes on mine are more purple). I think maybe there’s just something wrong with my eyes :D

Really, I’d just like to know what camera voodoo the guy who took this picture was using. I’d buy a band with these vivid blue stripes in a heartbeat!

Here’s my best effort to convey the shimmer in a photo since gifs offer too much compression. This is just my flash, and you can see the CNY bouncing that light all over the place. Also compared it to Spicy Orange for you. Both of them have gold pins.

This band definitely screams Vegas to me.

this is perfect! thank you so much. So I have the regular orange coming in the mail, with you having both, do you wear the Chinese new year often or do you gravitate to the regular orange? Either way, I'm really now leaning towards getting it just because its so unique with its shimmer...

CNY is best reserved for special occasions. That shimmer doesn't just exist to stare at lying in bed all day.

It's all just lighting. Probably a bit of saturation boost, too.

It shimmers like crazy

I never saw this picture, this picture and @mikedop 's have sold me! thank you both...I think...

my wallet wanted to say something different but I didn't let it have the laptop. ;)

Ah, yep! Chinese New Year certainly is an interesting one. I think @athousandbands and a few others picked one up as well.

Here it is on top of my pile of woven nylons. Black stripe is in another state and I’ll go to pick that one up this weekend.View attachment 949449

I’m on track to complete the Nike series by the end of the month. After that, I think I’m only 10 or so away from having all the nylons excluding Olympics. Just passed 100 bands a week or two ago!

Oh yeah, and I got a few more watches. Love my Ceramic!

Looking good - except perhaps the storage solution. You're way ahead of me now - I think I'm up to 87 with the last batch. I guess with my wife's unique bands we're at 110-120 between us if I bring hers in also, and I'm going too do that as she has some I don't need because she has them.

More watches? Not just the S1 anymore. I'm tempted by a ceramic myself - what else you got?

I’ve wanted to do something wall mounted for a while now, but that’s $100-200 that can be spent on bands instead, so the drawer works for me.

I have a Stainless S0, the Alum S1, Ceramic S2, and a SGA S3 Nike+.

Reading your previews posts, I have a Lilac Sport Loop 42-44 mm. It's not sealed, but since I had bought it with a 44 mm Series 5 that went back to the store within 14 days to switch with a 40 mm, the band is in great conditions, just wore it for a couple of days before accepting that the 44 mm was way too big for my wrist.
How much could I ask for the band?

Im bored, so inspired by @FenC ‘s absence, here are some progress pics. Unfortunately my phone lost all its photos around February, so I have very few shots from before that.

Oh, and if you see any censored bands... those are knockoffs. They don’t count.

Earliest picture I have. Got the Watch 7 months prior, got the two extra bands in April.

I moved since July, and pretty much right after I moved I really got into collecting. My situation left me at home all day, barely ever leaving the house, so I guess I collected to just have something to do. The loops here are fake.

About 2 weeks before I found the forums. Notice how many bands I had picked up since October- only 2 or 3 new ones, including Blue G1 & Pink. I had 16 OEM at this point.

I had stalked the forums up until about here. Didn’t say anything. Man, you guys are convincing with your pics. I went from 16 OEM to 36.

Up to 41. Also picked up the breathe blanket so @BreatheNow can stare at it in all my posts. Corona was a thing about now, so I’m not allowed to leave the house even though I already didn’t. Lovely.

Finally got around to selling the Milanese. I wasn’t too big of a fan. Also picked up Midnight Turquoise & some others. Here I’m at 58...

Finally adopted the label maker. Got everything all organized. About the time I realized I’m only 6 or so away from having all the Nike bands.

Picked up almost all the Nike bands I needed. Took until this point to realize I had a problem. Just under 100 bands here at 94ish. I had a few just out of frame I forgot.

Present day. I blame all of you. 110 bands, with I think 5 on the way.

Awesome - it's the diary of an addict. This should be a lesson for anyone finding this thread because they have a few bands and are curious about more; get out while you still can...

I didn't document my entire collection in photos unfortunately, and it's getting close to a year since I made my fateful "I wonder how many bands there have been" Google search based on my 24 band collection. 87 today and my wife has 64 with around 25 being doubles between us. I have calmed a bit recently, but now I';m back posting again I doubt that will last long.

I don’t even remember what I searched to get here. My account was created on the absolute last day of 2019 (the calm before the storm) so I think it was probably a search to find some storage methods after some Christmas pickups.
