I think I’ve missed some posts since I was last here, deciding if I was on a break or left for good. Due to encouragement not least from @mikedop I decided to post again - so blame him.

I think my wife and I probably picked up around 30-35 bands since my last post, but most were just making their way down here after being ordered months ago. I did have a bit of a win at the weekend however, which is really why I’m posting right now.

I scored an almost pristine S2 Hermes 44mm with a Fauve Barenia, Feu Epsom, (another) Hermes Orange SB, black Classic Buckle, Midnight Blue Nylon Buckle, silver Milanese Loop and 4 sport loops (plus 4 third party bands, but let’s not mention those). Not as big a bargain as some of you US peeps can score, but NZ$850 (about US$565) for the lot. Most look literally unworn and it dovetails nicely with my previous bands with only the Hermes SB as a double. I’ll sell that, likely with the watch.

So my questions are; I think the Milanese is genuine as it looks the same my wife’s 38mm one. Any confirming factor to check with? How do peeps clean them as it looks a bit dull. We have an ultrasonic jewellery cleaner somewhere I could try.

Also as some of you know I’ve been zero on sport loops until now. What are the ones I have, other than Electric Pink?

Can't tell for sure, is that Midnight Blue?

HUGE welcome back! We’ve missed ya!
Also, hate to say it, but the sport loops might be fake. There’s no badge on the second one from the top.

Oh, I also need to post this as I promised @toxtrepla I would. Terrible photo, but where I mounted them (temporarily until building work is finished in my proper house) is a bit of a poorly lit and narrow corridor. And I know the bottom row isn’t quite level...

amazing visual. How close are you to having all the sport bands? You only seem to be a few away!

Thanks - that was quick!

I think the midnight blue (looks right to me checking Bandbreite's chart) might ba fake as well as being 38mm now I check (odd). I don't mind as I'm not about to get into loops - I have been half heartedly looking for a cheap one to try for sleeping and 3 will be plenty. The others have the size on them.

There are a few sport bands missing. If I added my wife's collection then we'd be missing 13, though that includes generation differences of Red, Stone and Pink Sand, and special with watch only bands that look like some we already have - perhaps 8 or 9 truly missing colours between us.

Yea the midnight blue is fake, I had received one just like that it even had a size marker on it. You can tell by the loose lug.

Excellent Hermes starter pack, welcome back! Just in time for high season

Thanks and yes, it’s the first on the most expensive month of the year today.

I’m really pleased to get the Feu Epsom. It was the one I’d have bought a Hermes Watch with until they dropped it.
Yeah they’ve completely scrubbed it from the Apple site these last few weeks as @toxtrepla noticed...last time they did that we got rose jaipur epsom and bleu agate epsom, so I’m VERY excited.

Do you have your eye on any Swift bands from the archive? Good to have all the leather materials, just to be safe.

Try to push the center lug in order to see some laser etched numbers

Check to make sure the lugs are plastic and not some painted metal. We’ve found some convincing fakes since your last visit!

OK - they seem to be plastic

I have the Indigo/Craie/Orange Swift - and the original Noir Rallye with silver hardware which is Gala, so I'm covering the leather types OK :)

To be honest I don't have anything I'm especially looking for. I'd like to get my wife any / all of the tri-colour Rose range of Swifts in single tour. She has the Bleu Lin/Craie/Bleu Du Nord Swift and Noir/Brique/Etain Swift in double tour - and Fauve Barenia now I think of it, but her only single tour so far is Eperon d'Or.

I actually wouldn't mind the Noir/Brique/Etain myself. I'm unsold on the Noir/Blanc/Gold (really because it's so similar to the one I already have, which doesn't stop me usually), and also haven't seen the Beton style IRL though that might work in Brique or Encre - less keen on Etain. The Hermes I most want is the Equateur Tatouage that I think you got a while back and the Indigo/Rouge Rallye.

Either I'm not understanding or I don't see them. Should they be in the hole in the lug that the loop passes through? It's very hard to see, especially as it's been raining here all day and it's already feeling like its' getting dark now and I don't have a great artificial light where I am right now

It’s hard to explain so I really don’t blame you. Hopefully these pics help.

Ooh thanks for the thorough rundown. Good to know you’re as deep in as some of my other forum pals.

I just got my first beton (etain) and the Della Cavalleria (I call it horsey ropes) design is more pleasing in person. The concrete (beton) is warm and the etching is very sharp, in both senses of the word. I will post a pic as soon as I make a matching face for it. I would say go for the brique/beton just because there are so many other other dark blue options (just got bleu saphir and lost all lust for encre).

I wonder how many 42mm tatouage are even out there, being a non-Apple Store band and perhaps more of a style popular with 38mm folks.

I’m DYING for that indigo/rouge rallye. Tox got one and the rouge accent peeking out of the rallye holes is to die for in his pics. But like you I have the gala rallye with silver hardware and its close enough.

Yeah I have the noir/blanc/gold and bleu lin and therefore the indigo/blanc doesn’t call out to me. Indigo is just too dark compared to the lovely navy/“marine” eperon.

And I hear you on the rose sakura swift...that’s the one I feel will truly never pop up for a reasonable price. It’s the only light pink they’ve done.

What do you think of the allover Della Cavalleria double tour for her? The gold accents are so tasteful to my eye...

I’m not getting into Hermès unless I get one for free. Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen, but I just really don’t want to get into Hermès.

They help immensely - if only in that I was using the wrong band - I thought we were talking about the sport loop. So,you think the Midnight Nylon Buckle is fake? I’ll check later. It wasn’t even in the auction photos so it was a total bonus and it looks OK at casual glance. My wife has it in 38mm and it came sealed in its box so I have a real one to compare with also.

Not being able to see them in person doesn’t help with the Hermes stuff. I’m really hoping Apple may sell the S6 Hermes and Edition here again now we have an LTE carrier for a new model launch so at least I can order them from Apple and return them easily if I don’t like them. They have to come from Hermes in Aus currently, though at least they forget to charge the sales tax which saves 15%. We got the original gold Edition and the full range until the S3 launched when anything higher end than Alu went LTE we stopped getting them and only the SS launched in December when we finally got LTE.

I don’t expect to ever find a Tatouage, but I guess you never know. I’m pretty much buying up the very occasional Hermes stuff that comes up in NZ and then selling the watch and sport band on. Someone had a SBSS listed last week that was an unwanted gift. I made a cheeky offer, but someone paid the reserve and it was a bit too high for an S5 this close to S6, especially bought in Monaco who knows how long ago with the warranty ticking down.

Otherwise I keep an eye on Hermes Aus, they occasionally come up,with some old stock - like most national Hermes stores seem to.

I think she’s got enough double tours - her words not mine - she says they are not super comfortable for all day at work, and we just don’t do enough Hermes style evening events to make more worthwhile for that. The instruction is single tour next, anyway.

I’m not getting into Hermès unless I get one for free. Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen, but I just really don’t want to get into Hermès.

You actually might if you manage to buy one as part of some kind of lot. I’m pretty sure I could sell the stuff I just bought for a fair bit more than I pad and quite possibly be able to get. Knew back and keep a Hermes. Not doing that though.

How is your collection coming? You were getting interesting stuff when I last posted.

He thinks going Apple and Nike band complete will be enough. There is no such thing as enough. I guarantee it. 👍🏽

Sadly that’s true.
