I’ve got such a tiny wrist the black finishes just looked too overwhelming on my wrist so I’m guessing the graphite would be the same plus no diamond coating so may scratch like the gold stainless steel for some people.
Definitely looks like we might have a Gen 4 Product Red Sport Band too... looks lighter than previously, closer to gen 1. Or it could just be Apple’s hero shots!
Nope, I meant to bring that up as well. Definitely a new color.
On the „compare“ page under „finishes“ the graphite is listed as having DLC.
I don't recall seeing reports of the gold watches being susceptible to scratching.. I refuse to get a regular SS again after 5+ years and the Silver titanium is a scratch fest from last years reports.. Passing on SB titanium as mentioned before - too simlar to Space gray aluminum
Saying DLC on the Compare page... 🤷🏼♂️ Leaning towards it being PVD as that is a bit more descriptive.
Look on the bright side guys... new band styles means Apple is unlikely to change the style now?

I don’t think everyone had a problem with the gold but there were reports of people having some micro scratches, certainly not as bad as the silver stainless but of course you couldn’t buff them out on the gold like you could with the silver stainless. I didn’t get the titanium last year because of the reports of scratching but then apparently they could be buff out with those sponges with the slightly abrasive green tops on them - their name esacapes me for some reason.
I'm too stressed out. My cart comes out to $1,300. I'm just gonna sell all my bands and move on.
Ugh had to leave and go to a virtual meeting so just catching up. Quick thoughts
- Apple seems to be about done with any bands that buckle. Really disappointing for those of us who like the traditional watch look.
- The solo loop doesn’t seem particularly comfortable to put on and doesn‘t sound like it is very durable either. Hard pass.
- The woven loop sounds more interesting but I’m not sold.
- Nike bands/loops are the highlight of this release for me. The regular sport bands and loops are kind of meh.
- The Leather Link band is ugly and you’re not going to convince me otherwise.
- Sad to see Space Black go. I suspect Apple wanted a black that looked more metallic under dimmer lighting. But, the jury is now truly out on whether this finish will be as durable as the DLC Space Black. I’ll be hanging onto my S5 for another year for sure.
- Also the SB Milanese is now discontinued. Grab one from Amazon if you think you might want one.

A few observations ...
• The new Solo Loops will be a hard re-sell because you‘d need to find someone with exactly the same wrist size.
• Also, 99$ for the braided one? Seems very steep. This one would need to be insanely comfortable to justify the price.
• Also, will „liquid silicone“ be less of a lint magnet than regular silicone?
• The less said about the Leather Link bands, the better. This may be the first real warning sign that Jony Ive has left a significant taste gap.
• It bothers me a lot that there are so many great new Classic Buckle colours ... but all with an Hermès price tag.
As for the Watch itself, if I didn‘t have so many bands that only work with a silver Watch, I would totally get the Graphite Stainless. I believe it will look freakin‘ awesome.
P.S. I ordered the regular Sport Band in Cyprus Green. Ginger is calling me also, but I‘ll wait to see comparisons with other yellows we already got.

I got 1500 from the bestbuy deal, i was going to save some and put it towards the new phone when that comes out but i guess im not anymore, ill buy 3 bands with my bb giftcards so that saves some money, i honestly think im going to skip the solo loops for now...... idk what to do.
Yup. The Red braided loop looks pretty cool, but no way for $99! And considering they come in nine (!) different sizes, finding a cheap deal for the exact right size on a resale platform seems almost impossible.
I’ve just pressed the button on a 44mm Aluminium Space Grey GPS with a Black Leather Loop.
Will replace my S5 of same spec, of which my partner will adopt, to replace her S4 of same spec (Formally mine!), of which her son will adopt.
I see it is recycling and that is justification in itself... Not sure that SWMBO will see it like that, but its all i have
