What is it with Apple Watch leather buckles and confusing design. Like the 4th gen classic.... I’ve always “tucked” the band through the back side of the square buckle. But I’ve seen some people do not.

Hermes buckles with the double bar, not the Apple ones.

Not for me! edit* nvm

whoaaaa $99 for braids!

They knocked $10 off the basic price here in NZ, but I hadn’t noticed the braided were more. Wasn’t excited even at NZ$79, putting a 1 in front I definitely won’t be trying one of those

On pure color novelty Ginger feels like a pass, but if I feel compelled to try one solo sport, maybe...
View attachment 953391

I have all the yellows, so Ginger is ordered to keep the full set. Not due to arrive until next week though.

Aftermarket for white ceramic s5 (and maybe black Hermes about to be crazy)

SBSS Hermes is still available, no?

My thoughts:
- I almost can’t believe the leather bubble is real
- RIP SBSS - really glad I snagged an S5 now, but chances of more black hardware bands now < 0
- Sort of intrigued to try the Solo Loop, but not pushing the button yet
- Zero interest in the Solo Braid, especially at that price
- Still no Hermes or Edition in NZ - why? Without a ceramic S6 that doesn’t hurt as much as it would have, but still...
- S6 generally: it’s a meh from me.
- “up to” 20% faster silicon - nice bump but not must have
- Blood oxygen on the wrist also nice, but not essential
- Brighter AOD, also nice, but nowhere near essential
- Nothing about longer battery life, thinner case, fast charge, improved sleep tracking sensors etc.
- S3 lives another year. Really? I was sure they’d kill the smaller screen off along with the older silicon so they could desupport it in future WatchOS versions sooner
- New OSs coming tomorrow - glad I held off going beta on my phone as I nearly did last week, though it was pretty stable from PB4 when I put my iPad on it

I’m happy to be just a Sport Band collector. Still cost a bit, but I got out the door at NZ$632 with one each of all the new SB & Nike SB colours, plus a second Cypress Green as we both have high hopes for that.

They don’t arrive until next week here in NZ, and someone will likely beat me to it, but I can do compares with most orange / pink, and any green, blue or yellow when they do.

I guess I’m in the market for a European S5 ceramic and SS Hermes if anyone wants to offload.

yeah its for photographers to find out the position of the sun. it was talked about in the keynote, i think its going to be a complication for the new watches but im not 100 percent sure.
Yeah it’s called Lumy. My bad. Third-party app.

Cypress Green will take the cake for bad hero shot if it ends up being a winner. Looks like the worst of pine and khaki...

Depends what you’re after I guess. We have both been hoping for a dark green and both Pine and Khaki missed the mark entirely. The hero shots make this look like it is the closest yet.
Yeah I’m just impossibly bitter that we didn’t get green or purple and it’s such a dark/desat green. But I got an $11 green sport band and my wallet is relieved that the sport band/solo loop colors aren’t even remotely new. Ginger is nice but I’m so recent to lemon cream and lemonade...

Yeah definitely no interest in the silicone loops and Apple priced me out of interest in the braided loops at $99. Maaaaaybe at $49 but not for the same price as a Milanese loop.

Speaking of Milanese loops, that was my only pickup today. Grabbed the now discontinued SB ML off Amazon before they disappear for good. I will wait until I can see some real-life shots of the new bands before I pull the trigger on any.

Does the fact that they state the solo loop will stretch over time imply it's not as durable as the standard sport band?
Even the two piece sport bands loosen over time. I wear a different hole on the new vs some old ones I have. I have had handmade single loop fabric bands before, they simply start to be a little bigger after sliding over your wrist and use. I ordered them slightly tight so they’d loosen to tight but not snug. But that was elastic fabric.

Not quite band related but just installed the GM of watchOS 7. You can still use the Dark Titanium, Light Titanium, Ceramic, and Gold colors on the California face. There are also a bunch of new colors available: Evergreen, Mango, Slate, Warm Gray, and Watermelon. These colors are also available on the Chronograph Pro and several of the other new faces.

Is gold not only for gold watch now? It’s definitely my favorite of the old California choices.

any possible winter colors in the normal Watch face color picker?

My sister in law just asked me this question, and I have no idea. If she trades in her watch that has a more expensive payment than the one she’s getting, is it an even trade in? Not sure what watch she has, she just said the one she wanted was $10 less per month. Any idea?
Also picked up the Spruce Aura Nike band, and the Cream sport Loop.
