Got a pretty awesome gift from a certain forum member ‘cross the pond recently!

Having an authentic NikeLab watch was always a sort of backburner goal, since they’re really not worth any more than a regular Nike Series 2, yet people still want top dollar for them. Amazingly, @MostlyARMless found this one and generously sent it my way! Huge thank you!

Oh, and another band crept its way into the box...
Is that a bit of flaking I see at the band connector slot?

Nice!

I can’t see in the pic, does it say “Nike Lab” on it, or what identifies the Watch? I’m not doubting it‘s genuine, I just don’t know much about them.

Decided late last night to go to Vegas. So, wore this one up and down the strip today.

Also, got to visit the Apple store (which was right across the Nike store, #athousandfits) and tried on the solo loops and braided loops. The braided loops feel way different than I thought they would feel. Solo loops feel okay. I absolutely hate how you put them on though. Getting them on and off felt so infuriating, and I swear I almost dropped their demo SE twice. I’m definitely not getting one at retail. At least I know which size to look for on eBay.

The Nike bands, though...

I couldn’t walk away empty handed.

“Infuriating“, LOL. Drama queen 😉

There’s for sure a learning curve to getting the sillycone loops on and off. For me it’s all about getting my finger under the watch’s sensor, because especially after a workout that really drags along the skin. Also helps to get the loop over the four knuckles and thumb knuckle separately.

I do think that Reddit post with the snapped band was either a lemon or a hoax, because I’ve gotten less scared over time about snapping it.

I found a way to put on the Solo Loops without pulling it over your hand/knuckles. Just attach the top part, gently clamp the watch between your arm and e.g. your thigh, slide in bottom part. To get the band off, flip the watch over so the sensor side is on top, click the connector button and gently slide the band out. All very easy and will prevent any stretching out of the Solo Loop that may (or may not) occur over time.

I definitely tried and gave up on this method for sliding it on but flipping it inside out to remove sounds much more workable.

I hope we get new Winter bands at this weeks event :)
Am I on glue or were the colors Plum and Northern Blue NOT in the color choices for watch faces prior to the last update? (Also three golds after the browns?)

44mm watch users, do any of you have experience with 40mm watches as well? Thanks to Black Friday I am now harbouring the ridiculous thought of getting a cheap 40mm watch to 40mm bands are easier to find and usually cheaper than their 44mm counterparts, for those few bands that I want but either don't want to pay the higher prices for the 44mm ones, or just can't find them easily in 44mm.

Am I crazy?
Just wanna share, i just bought the 40mm se nike last week to go with my 44mm s6ss i gotta say i think i’m liking the 40mm better as it fits in my wrist a little better. Although if you have 44mm bands already you can always put a bumper on the 40mm so it sits flush. I don’t have problems wearing 40mm bands.

i would say go get a 40mm, and no you are not crazy 🤪

That bumper idea is actually pretty cool. Never seen it before.

I bought the purple pulse. I only went to the apple store to see what it looked like in person, and yet... bought one. No self control.

Though I did see the plum in person and determine that it didn’t look as I expected it to and didn’t buy that one. :D

Plum and Northern have been there since the retail/public GM. Also cream was replaced in the top area of California late in the beta by Ivory, which at the time seemed weird until we got the Cream sport loop and it moved down into the main color wheel. Hoping for a Cream sport band/solo loop.

The three golds at the bottom join all the Titanium and Ceramic faces at the top of Cali and Typography as options that used to only be available if you bought those watches (someone with an old gold confirm?) and my guess is that Apple got sick of shipping slightly different software for those watches.
