Does the app make suggestions on what band to wear? I don’t see that in mine.

The new medium-sized widget does make a couple of suggestions based on your collection.

I don’t usually do a today’s band type photo, but I just got in from work and thought I’d share today’s celebration of the discontinued with my S5 SBSS and OG Black LeLoo. They (literally) don’t make them like that anymore.

SBSS is so nice! I told myself I had to sell mine (S4) and wait for a S5 to pop up cheap, just to have the newest SBSS without spending Hermès money...

Nice shot -- really shows the texture of the LeLoo.

And SBSS: they still do it, though only via Hermès.. which might be the way I'll go when the time comes, and then be forced to sell the Noir Swift (or gift to my dad?), since I've already got one separately. It's rather irritating that one is forced to go this way just to get a model that has been around since S0. What's worse is that the SBSS purchase cannot be paired with any other Hermès leather option. I get it - mismatched hardware and all - but geez, talk about rubbing salt in the wound in more ways than one.

Oh and here’s a pic from @jeremyfernie illustrating the different between Cyprus Loop and Band, in store lighting and after many wipedowns, similar depth departure as glimpsed in the Juan vlog:

Hmmm ... Loop looks „greener“? I‘ll have to check it out, I guess. The Sport Band was disappointingly dark/drab to my eye and went right back to Apple.

Yeah, I know they do it still in Hermes. In fact I bought it so I could decide if I wanted a Hermes in SS or SBSS. In the end I decided not to buy the S6 Hermes at all (partly because Apple still won’t sell me one in NZ so I have to pay Aus and NZ sales tax plus shipping and duty to get one).

What I do know having both to switch between is that in my personal opinion SBSS is orders of magnitude less “smart” than SS, and given the point of the Hermes Watch is the faces which are “smarter” than the Apple ones I have no intention of ever buying a Hermes SBSS personally. Doubly so when only a handful of Hermes bands have black hardware.

I really like my SBSS, but only paired with Sport Bands (especially the Nike “Dalmatian” colours) or some of my LeLoos, so for me it’s almost exclusively a casual Watch I mostly wear at the weekend. Wearing it to the office yesterday was a novelty, and I discovered when buying lunch that I haven’t set up ApplePay on it despite having bought it six or seven months ago which, while helped greatly by the effects of COVID, shows how differently I use it compared with SS.

All IMO of course.

Help guys!

Through a combination of various deals I can either pick up a BNIB midnight blue striped woven nylon for $21 or a BNIB midnight blue striped woven nylon and a spring yellow classic buckle together for $46 (the latter wouldn't be $25 on its own)

I have a space grey aluminium watch so I guess I could be just getting this deal for the sake of it and never end up using it (with the hardware clash)... but I'm wondering what the combo looks like if anyone has both?

Just do it. Resell the spring yellow later on if you don’t like it. Still a great deal either way!

Ended up with a different combination of stuff in the end, some essentials I'd have bought anyway which mean BNIB midnight blue striped woven nylon for $15. Result.

Or to put in another perspective, for less than the cost of a retail band here in China (379 RMB) I'm going to have the following delivered to my door tomorrow/Monday:
  • BNIB midnight blue striped woven nylon
  • 1 bottle shampoo
  • 2 bottles shower gel
  • pack of coin cell batteries
  • 15 bottles of iced coffee
  • 18L bottled water
  • 3 boxes cereal
  • 10m electrical tape.
From that perspective, these watch bands are an expensive hobby. And don't feed my kids (unless you're wanting fluoroelastipoops)

I bought a used blue band on eBay. It arrived today and I'm surprised to find that it has what appears to be a rose gold pin. My research tells me it's probably a midnight blue band that was bundled with a rose gold watch a few years back. Can anyone confirm this is correct? Also, is it a rare band?

Somewhat rare. You’re correct that it’s a midnight blue from a rose gold watch. Don’t think it goes for much though.

Haven’t worn it for at least a year but decided to give the SB Link some love today, on the Graphite.

I actually prefer it on the Graphite to the Space Black S3 I used to have. Felt it was a bit too dark a combo. To my eye, I prefer the slightly lighter Graphite paring with the Link. Will wear it more now for sure!

It's not very rare, what is rare is a 38mm/40mm version which only JUST came out through chargerstore
