that combination looks awesome

you must never get tired of all the options you got

I think youre the biggest Apple Watch fan of anyone in the world
☺️
It’s retail therapy and color education and being an unpaid Nike model all in one. I blame @toxtrepla and @FenC for incepting me with the idea that having more or less every sport band is healthy behavior.

Yeah it does almost look like a navy blue in some pictures (which I like). I have an Inverness Green on the way already after an eBay coupon got the price down to $60. Maybe I’ll see if I like the band style (and if I got my size right) before looking around for a charcoal. Definitely hard to find them below retail right now with the long shipping delays from Apple.
Yeah there was a gold rush during ”regret” season and it’s calmed down. One seller in San Diego and one in Montreal had a bunch for very cheap with no box but mostly mint, I guess go-backs to premium resellers. Surely Christmas will bring new waves of unwanted pack-in bands and mis-sized Solo Loops to eBay. Very curious if the winter colors will show up or if I was wise to just grab kumquat and northern at the lesser employee discount ($42) versus the full 25% I got to use for plum.

Got this genuine 42mm Ultra Violet band for $30; talk about a steal!

Cornflower Sport Band I received in an awesome shipment from JuneJune! It’s a hazy day here, so the photo might not do it justice. It’s beautiful though! Also received Papaya SB, Nectarine SB, Vitamin C SB, and some other beautiful ones. Husband gave me the side eye. lol

The Covid/Christmas unreliability of the Royal Mail has meant that a few eBay bargains from the last week and a half have all turned up today. Makes it harder to hide the scale of my 'problem' from my wife...

First off, Cali Poppy Leather Link. New and sealed for 25% under retail. On the ceramic, it gives me strong Space:1999 vibes, but that probably won't mean a lot to many people here!

View attachment 1691871

Next, Charcoal Braided. A month old, almost half off retail. Starting to think I have quite small wrists, as not many people were bidding.

View attachment 1691872

New Soft White Ceramic for £30? That'll do nicely thanks. Only need the S2 Cloud for the full set of Ceramic bands.

View attachment 1691876

Finally, two that came part of a bundle, so were essentially £10 each. Obsidian/Black - I only wanted one with a bit less shine that my existing set, but this turned out to be brand new with plastic on. And Blue Orbit/Gamma. M/L only, but I now have an S/M piece in the post...

Space:1999... hop in an Eagle and make the trip before the moon gets blown outta Earth’s orbit!!!!

Was it that one on Mercari that I returned?
Not sure honestly. Btw, seeing your name here made me realize I just bought a Lavender Gray band from you on Mercari not long ago. I used to buy bands on Aliexpress, but now I've gone full genuine and selling the generic ones after seeing the difference in quality.

That is ok. I almost passed it over thinking the same thing while searching for ultraviolet. I went did a double take and when she offered to send more photos. I clicked the buy button... that was one of your good price finds I am sure...
That was a real steal. I needed 42mm, and while it certainly wasn't a yoink it was a fair price for a boxed, very hard to find band.

I'm not sure whether to feel honoured or ashamed at the name check... or if I should just apologise.

What's with this "more or less" thing though? To paraphrase Yoda "All or not all; there is no 'more or less'" :D

Honored! I love having every sport band (save Denim, Vintage Rose, Dark Gray, Apricot, Nectarine, Marine Green, Red2, Blue Cobalt). They’re all worthy, unique snowflakes that each serve a different mood and watch case material. I will be powerless to go all in on More if they pop up for irresistible rates...I mean I have to give USPS something to do until March.

Yeah, it's the same Ultraviolet I purchased for $49 that the seller advertised as "like new." I posted about this earlier: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread....2219462/page-102?post=29104048#post-29104048

I got Mercari involved and got a refund. The seller then relisted it in "good" condition. The $30 you paid is fair. $49 was not! Congrats: it's a great color.

After disappearing down an Internet rabbit hole just now I eventually stumbled on the below, which I sorta remember from back in the day. How many of these ever saw the light of day do you all think?

Looks like the fall 2015 line with spring 2016’s OG yellow in the mix. Everything close to her looks like the buddies for the new gold aluminum watches for fall plus V Rose. I do love all these high fashion gobbets from this time period. Lagerfeld’s un-paired watch, Kanye whining and then subsequently receiving the gold link model. Christy Turlington-Burns running marathons in a steel model.

I think the apple blogoscenti generally looks at the 18k watch and the fashion world promos as kind of a misstep and a regret, and perhaps it was something they never wanted to do except to appease Jony, but I still love that it happened. I mean how else will @mikedop be gifted a gold-gold S0 one day?

Maybe my next avatar will be that Siberian Husky with an 18k on each of his forelegs.

That photo has always seemed so awkward, she’s like the unmarried aunt who they’ve dumped the baby on. And now that I have that lid she’s holding, very out of body for me.

Oh yeah that's the one. $49 was not fair honestly. I ended up giving it a good/deep cleaning which removed most of the scratches and it looks really better now compared to before

How did it get that weird circle around the middle hole? Admittedly I don’t have one band I’ve worn every day since I bought it years ago, but none of even my 2015 launch colours has wear anywhere near like that. Nor does the Grey / Black that came with my used S3 grey ceramic that I suspect was worn every day by its first owner.

Marine Green on SS is a personal fave that will look awesome on white ceramic also, and Dark Grey on SBSS is way better to my taste than either generation Black on SBSS. You need those 2.

Denim is different enough from the siblings of family Blue that it’s definitely worth owning in its own right, rather than just to achieve SpBaC status.

Blue Cobalt is a weird one. I bought it when it launched and while I wear it relatively often it always somehow disappoints me when it’s the ‘right’ blue for the outfit. Possibly just because it was easy come and some of the blues I have had to buy after they were current are more exciting to use.

Red2 - the best PRed IMO, but could I really tell it from the others if not side by side? Probs not.

The others are part of my wife’s side of the collection and I don’t know their subtleties.

I have no clue. This is a band I just bought on Mercari that was in an okay condition (see kryptticAZ's post), and I cleaned it in order for it to have a better look like in my pictures. For the weird circle thing, I can't comment much on that since I have been band collecting for only 2-3 weeks now and do not have much experience with those type of things.

Yeah, sorry; I realise you only just got it so you won’t know. I wonder if anyone else has seen that?

My heavily used band from the grey ceramic only has one shiny area, where the hole section goes through and runs behind the pin section, which is both understandable and also invisible when worn.

Anyway, that’s a decent deal for UV in usable condition, so apologies if I sounded negative - that wasn’t what I was aiming for.

It's all good! I just assumed it was because it was previously worn, but I didn't question myself more than that 😂

Yeah, the only reason I paid $49 for it is because it was listed as like new with no defects or scratches. That clearly wasn't the case, so I sent it back. The seller was not happy, but I guess they decided that listing as "like new" again wasn't a good idea. Hence the "Good" and accepting a much lower price.

Clearly it wasn't "like new". I would've done the same thing you did if I was in your place. Sellers need to be honest about the condition of what they're selling
