After disappearing down an Internet rabbit hole just now I eventually stumbled on the below, which I sorta remember from back in the day. How many of these ever saw the light of day do you all think?

Seems like all of them eventually got released. They stand out to me as the various pink sand/flamingo/vintage rose/lavender bands on the left, maybe with one or two pre-production samples thrown in, with the right containing Light Pink, Lemonade, Yellow/Pollen, Orange, Red, Midnight Blue, pre-production lighter Midnight Blue, and Turquoise/Marine Green.

I mean how else will @mikedop be gifted a gold-gold S0 one day?

That photo has always seemed so awkward, she’s like the unmarried aunt who they’ve dumped the baby on. And now that I have that lid she’s holding, very out of body for me.

That’s the lid to the ten-puck charging thing and I use it for exactly that purpose every time I change bands, so I just had this little spike of recognition seeing it time traveled back to 2015 😊.

It’s also the exact shape of the iPhone so it makes a nice base for my little tv I like to watch while I play band dress-up.

And just to follow up on whoever noticed the affinity between Plum 🍷 Bordeaux (Hibiscus left):

I thought it looked like too many in the range of pink to light skin tones, but you're probably right. I do remember when I saw that photo, and also some that were on the OG MR Apple Watch Roundup page that I followed for the first months after launch, that the next batch of colours looked to be very much in the skin tone (of more than just light shades) and very different to the vibrant launch colours.

If you are right then they were releasing early prototyped colours for a long time.



I totally missed that was the lid of the box - and the attention to detail with the same proportions as the iPhone is just so Apple - though it's probably also a pleasing ratio to the eye.

Actually now you say that it does look longer like the store mat. Having literally been in an Apple store maybe five times in my life I miss this stuff.

At least athousandoutfits doesn't need to have the maiden aunt identity crisis anymore

Yeah I think it’s one and the same. It both sits up there and also slots in nicely on top of the case. And my picture has the felt side up but I now have the leather side up each night, fwiw.

I was in an Apple Store yesterday to see if they had any in stock since sometimes they’ll have bands in store that aren’t on the website (they didn’t) but the worker I spoke with said that Plum would definitely come back in stock since it was still a new band. I don’t know how fast bands sold out in the past, but she seemed confident it would be back.

Yeah, sorry; I realise you only just got it so you won’t know. I wonder if anyone else has seen that?

My heavily used band from the grey ceramic only has one shiny area, where the hole section goes through and runs behind the pin section, which is both understandable and also invisible when worn.

Anyway, that’s a decent deal for UV in usable condition, so apologies if I sounded negative - that wasn’t what I was aiming for.

All of my really used dark bands have that shiny spot either on a pin point or on the back. It does come Orr with a gentle soft toothbrush and dawn dish soap with some elbow grease. I’ll show a before and after on the delft bands I got used

Interesting - I've not seen it before. I assume it's round the hole that gets used as it's only one, but then I'd have thought if anything the pin would protect the band immediately around it from rubbing on anything.

Here’s the original...I didn’t actually lighten/decontrast/etc as much as I thought. Mostly the sun, I guess. I did kind of hastily edit it without leaving my wrist in the shade. My first Eagles game in awhile today, had to rush back. I’m still not clear on whether RAW is turning off HDR. Can’t wait to get my hands on ProRAW. Was a little too busy to fuss with the beta. And then they did a second RC so maybe it was good to stay away.
