Today’s band — Flat Silver / Volt Nike. A solid member of the first class of Nikes.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be Surf Blue. It brings me so much joy to wear it. I even have the matching iPad case!
I have the iPad (12.9" Pro) case too. How is yours holding up? My iPad hardly leaves the house, and when it does it tends to be hand carried to and from the car, but the case is looking very second hand. Given the outrageous price I'm more than disappointed with it.

It has water rings from setting a glass on it that won't come off, the back has a two-tone effect where the part that is exposed looks totally different to the part that is covered when I use it as a stand for Sidecar display and the corners have almost all got nicks in them that show the inside and will only get worse.

The Inverness braided loop I snagged on eBay a couple of weeks back finally arrived yesterday. I’m a bit on the fence about it honestly and I am not sure why. It lives up to its reputation and is very comfortable. The texture of the threads is rougher than I was expecting when you run a finger over it. But, it disappears on my wrist. Might be because the Inverness color is very close to the Spruce Fog sport loop I already have. I also find the lack of a clasp to be a bit...boring? I don’t know, I feel like the underside of my wrist is so plain without it. The little bit of silver peeking out at the connectors and the fact that the weave doesn’t quite reach the edge of the lug channels is a bigger deal in pictures than in real life. Overall, I like the band, just not wowed by it. It’s for sure overpriced at $100. Might try to find a Charcoal at a good price and see if I like that any better.

What is this? Black lugs on an orange band but it has the size markings!? Have the fakes now started adding the markings?

I think this is a fake. The quality of the photo is poor, but you can distinguish the letters on the size stamps and artifacts around the stamp, most likely the photo was edited in a photo editor. Also the rest of the offers in the profile are solid fakes.

Further evidence: the S/M marking is off-centre. Move along folks, nothing (but knock-off product) to see here!

Newbie here (just got my first Apple Watch this past Black Friday). I totally thought I'd be fine with just the bundled black band and wow was I wrong (up to 7 already and 2 on the way... so just about a new band every 3 days. This is a normal newbie thing right? I'll slow down eventually?). And I so thought I'd be saving money by not getting a PS5 (eh it's still out of stock anyway). I'm sure it's been said already, but thank you all for posting your band collection; totally helps when choosing colors that don't translate or totally look the same (e.g. Vitamin C vs Kumquat).

Yup, you're totally spot on. I noticed the s/m size stamp is not inline with the holes.... and yes, you can see that the size stamps were pasted on. When you zoom in or enlarge the picture, you can tell there's a rectangular pixelation around the size stamp = it was a cut and paste job.

Crime solved. Great job, guys :)

Welcome.

It’s a normal newbie thing - for newbies who get involved in this thread. I’ve almost stopped buying new bands now - all it took was getting one of every Sport Band colour ever released. And Nike Sport Bands. I don’t buy Sport Loops and have little interest in trying the new styles from September, so I’m lucky.

It will slow down for you also, but how far down the rabbit hole you need to go to be satisfied will be the trick. You’ll have fun in the meantime.

this month's band of the month for me. What a beauty.

I think this was actually from the earliest generation of fakes 5+ years ago. They used to copy matching lugs and size markings, (albeit very poorly,) but stopped after they realized nobody cares and they could make even more money skipping that stage of production. There was discussion on it quite a few pages back, but I wouldn't be able to find it.

Red g3 and g1 are my thoughts still unsure..
Some closer up shots of the backs and lugs might help. But yeah, G3 and G1 look right.

It doesn't stop until you have them all. That's my current thought process anyways. I slow myself down by budgeting my collection. Don't go for Surf Blue unless its $18 or less, you don't need Hermes orange until you can find it under $50, CYR is nice but not worth over $60, Olive Flak for $25 is a good yoink, etc etc. Just limit your band spending per month to like $200 and you should be good.

The PS5 doesn't even have that big of a catalog yet anyways.

Pretty close to Baltic Blue, is it?
Probably a little more green than baltic, but I’m definitely curious about Baltic’s irl color in general. Waiting to get it cheap once Apple catches up to demand and people start unloading them. Colvert goes more teal in the sun but I like to keep the Hermes face in the darkest outdoor shade so it pops.

Amazon finally shipped my Saddle LeLi from September and my bf’s replacement Atlantic Blue (ordered 9/26, too-big size arrived 11/19) comes tmrw. So it appears Mr. has the supply chain greased again!

FWIW, Baltic looks more green/teal in real life pictures than in Apple‘s stock photo. Looking forward to the eventual Baltic/Colvert showdown in the Watch Band Buddies thread! (Maybe with Cosmos thrown in for good measure?)

Thank you for this! Yes for sure will have to set aside budget. I bought the surf blue because it was on sale ($29), but then it was a freebie from Best Buy, so I got credited for it (yay free!) What’s CYR? I just ordered Olive Flak for $19–oh and Cactus and Anchor Gray sport loop for the same price. The most I've spent so far was for Deep Navy ($42). I’ve only paid full price twice (Kumquat & Red 2020) but they’re both going back since they’re less vibrant than Vitamin C ($39.20) and Red 2018 ($29), respectively. Just picked up Ginger ($24) and now I don’t know which one is my favorite.

Starting to sound a lot like me when I started! Keep it up!
