Today - Black / Volt. One of the original Nikes, and still a favourite, even if has lost some of its “black with a big popping accent” lustre to Lime Blast.

Solo Loop. Sorry, was going to specify it but I figured it was clear in the second pic.
I should have noticed the lack of a pin! What’s your opinion on the solo loop compared to the sport loop? I’ve been curious about the solo loop after hearing they are so comfortable. I’m just having a hard time believing silicone will hold up better than the fluoroelastomer of the sport bands. How have you liked yours?

They’re comfortable, of course, they hang just off the wrist, so light too.

The colors seem deeper, as well, and the UV coating has a shimmer. I bought an extremely used Deep Navy on Mercari and it definitely has the coating worn off half the band and looks just as bad as the shiniest sport band color, but I will need to start working out during the day again or wait until it’s warm at night to really sweat one of the solo loops myself. So far the black one I use every night looks great.

But most importantly they’re all the same softness. I’m guessing it’s not like the sport bands where the ingredients are all different based on the color. They all just feel soft and amazing whereas it seems a few of the fall20 sport bands have a hardness out of the box still (plum, pred4, maybe cyprus).

If you have AirPods Pro it’s almost like those eartips, not quite as sticky though, I guess because of the UV coat.

There’s definitely moments where I look at my inner wrist and the lack of pin feels dumb, but I think it’s worth not having that part also sticking to the wrist and mismatching non-silver watches.

I don’t like wearing my sport loops loose so these solve that problem where the sport loops still get a little itchy from staying in place so firmly.

Obligatory “Plum is beautiful” post! My Plum sport band didn’t arrive until late last night (that poor UPS guy must have had a long day). So I am just now getting to try it on. It’s a dark rainy morning here in Austin and I am having to settle for it in indoor lighting right now. But it is definitely a keeper (even if I am late to the party haha)! The color is a bit more purple than I was expecting. Pictures don’t quite do it justice, as they make the band look more maroon.

I do agree with whomever made the observation about this color being stiff. This is certainly the stiffest, least supple sport band I have owned since the Midnight Blue I got with my S2 (and possibly ever since I don’t have that band to compare to any longer). It’s not terrible but it does have me seriously considering giving the solo loop a try. Definitely want to own some version of this color!

Thanks as always for such a thoughtful post. Yeah the fact that it is possible to get a solo loop so visibly used within 3 months or less definitely gives me pause. I was watching a “1 month later” video on YouTube yesterday and the guy’s band already looked not great. Seemed like it was his only band and he wore it to the gym regularly. But, that still doesn’t bode well for how it will look after a year (or even 6 months). I am still intrigued and may still give one a try. They sound quite comfortable and the lack of mismatched hardware is a nice plus too (though this bothers me less on the sport bands since the pin is so small).

How has the band done as far as collecting lint goes? That has always been a gripe of mine with silicone phone cases. The traditional sport bands are champs in that department.

They don’t really collect lint but that worn down Deep Navy was collecting more than my new ones, especially as I was trying to deep clean and then wipe down with a cloth.

Yesterday my Plum was collecting a little bit but I was also wearing a brand new hoodie that I feel was giving off a lot of lint? It’s def worth the trade-off to just get every band feeling soft to the touch.

Also, folks, where is @mikedop

Got it! I finally found (and bought) the Dark Gray Sport Band from the Apple Watch Edition Titanium in new and unused condition for a reasonable price. Really happy about, sometimes it's worth it to be a little bit patient.

Fog, Concrete, Titanium (Light Gray), Gray/Black (Ediiton), Gray, Cocoa, Titanium (Dark Gray), Black (2nd)
(Fog —and the second photo— seems to be a little too light. Sorry about.)
I need to work on my neutrals. I have quite a few colors, but my whites and grays and beiges are lacking.

First time seeing the Braided solo loop live.
(We don’t have Apple Store in Czech Republic)
I thought it would be much softer material.

Right? I was expecting a softer nylon when I tried them on at the store, but no they’re pretty stiff. I still like them, but with the gap and sizing I still don’t think I would pay more than mikedop pricing for one.

Ive been doing other things outside of the forums lately, so hadn’t had much time to spam posts like I usually do. Also haven’t been picking up anything worth sharing lately, so I’ve been lacking in photos. Might post some obligatory catch up shots later.

So, I randomly bid on a 2109 pride band nylon sport loop on eBay a week ago, $5.00 has all the appropriate labels and things and I was checking the tracking information of another band I ordered and found that I had won that band too... less than $10 with the shipping... score!
