Just ordered from a local store a new pillow charger for just 29€, I've been wanting this forever but didn't want to spend the full price for just a charging dock. From the serial number (MLDW2ZMA) appears to be one of the older models, not the serial number currently on the Apple website. Is there any significant difference?

I think that’s my ‘neutral palette’ sorted, now to work on the other colours...

I also have the one you bought and I don’t see any different to the current one. Enjoy it!

Uhhh Apple just announced a limited edition Unity watch and watch band. Appears to be a black aluminum watch (rather than space gray) and comes in GPS and cellular flavors. The band appears to use the same “mash several colors together” technique Apple debuted with the Pride 2020 band and also features a laser engraved space black pin. Not clear if the band will be sold separately (I’m betting it will). Part of the proceeds go to support civil rights and equality around the world.

Goes on sale Feb 1. Get your wallets ready!

Well, looks like I’m buying a Series 6.

Also... the website says the sport band is $49, so it’ll be sold separately.

Judging by the picture in the press release, the Watch looks Space Gray to me, not Black.

Not sure about getting the band. It looks good/interesting with the specific watch face, but I probably wouldn‘t wear it often ...

Yeah looks like you’re right based on the Verge article. Watch is just an aluminum S6 with a different engraving on the back. The band will be sold separately all year but the watch will only be available in February.

Kind of a shame that there isn’t a more visible outward sign that the watch is limited edition. Apple already has experience with matte black aluminum finishes (iPhone 7 and 12). Having the watch be completely black rather than space gray would have made it stand out more from the regular watches.

For sure the box will look different. Maybe black like Nike boxes, but with red and green stripes or something. We’ll see when the reviews come in.
