New vs. old RED Braided Solo (not my picture):

Are last year's colours of Braided Solo Loop now discontinued?

I got the new Abyss Blue at the weekend and love it so much I want to get the Charcoal. But most sizes are showing as out of stock in all the stores near me.

Look what made the press release today…probably trying to unload the last pallet and wash their hands of the Jony excess forever!

Also the midnight aluminum is a weird match for the black band but I guess it’s better than alienating the SE and SGA owners with a more navy default. And the blue tint will probably be more stealth in most lighting conditions.

Has there ever been a 2nd gen space black link bracelet? Amazon oddly sells two (space black 1 and space black 2), with the first one looking darker and $100 more expensive than the second one.

At launch in 2015, the price was $549 and then Apple cut it to $449 around a year or so later, but don't recall the DLC coating color changing.

I have an Apple 42mm Space Black Link Bracelet and it is pretty dark and matches my SB SS S4 quite well.

I have an open box SBLB from when Best Buy slashed the price dramatically and it looks darker than my lightly used and heavily used SBLBs, one from a random eBay seller and one from a non-Charger charger-alike seller. But not dark enough to show up in a photo or make me confident it isn’t just that it’s unused.

The Best Buy’s box does seem like it’s the $450 era not $550.

So I did some more research and when the Apple Watch Series 0 launched, I believe that the stainless steel link bands were only available when purchased with the watch (I wanted the Space Grey Stainless Steel model with the link bracelet, but it was $1099 so I "settled" for the Silver Stainless with the Milanese Loop at "only" $699).

With the Series 2, Apple did offer the Stainless Steel watches with the link bracelet, but by March they evidently stopped selling this configuration and the Link Bracelet just became an optional band starting at $549 and then dropping to $449 not long after.

I think just like how they axed the silver and space grey aluminium colours, they also axed the white and black sport bands and now only offer starlight and midnight sport bands as the closest colours. I’m pretty sure they were still selling the white and black sport bands before tonight’s Series 7 launch. A bit surprised since both white and black are like the most basic and the longest running in the sport band family, ever since the Apple Watch launched in 2015.
