My only disappointments are the lack of M1 chip in the iPad Mini and limitation on storage option to 256GB. Would have loved a 512gb option.

Why are we still using lightning. Looks like they can't make up their minds. Very silly and stupid.

When we talk about not being environment friendly, it is the need to have lightning and usb-c.

As a long time Apple developer, all I want for Christmas is "focus follows mouse". I thought that after 15 years I'd get use to my windows constantly popping up and covering my other windows, but nope. And hey, Apple, give us access to the compressed video stream from the camera instead of just one decompressed frame at a time! I could list a dozen such things that we engineers that write Apple-based software want. Yes, I get that these are *software* things and this event was about hardware - but here's the thing: We care just as much about improvements behind the scenes as we do about getting a new color for our phone. And without significant software changes, all the new improvements to hardware will continue to illicit just a "meh" from me. (Oh, but huge kudos for that awesome M1 based MacBook Air I purchased earlier this year!)

The first time in about 10 years that I haven't followed the thread here or on other sites regarding the Apple product announcements.

I'm just pretty meh about technology as a whole at this point in time...........

As a "fanboy", not gonna lie. Rather underwhelming. We should have at least seen Center Stage and the power button TouchID on iPhone Pro in addition to FaceID.

Totally underwhelmed by the lack of upgrades and the disgusting colour of the new 13 pro what happened to innovation with Apple everything is boring no fast charging six times zoom Wow Same old 12 megapixel cameras I would swap to a different brand if it wasn’t for the software and the ecosystem I got a $300 real me android has 64watt of fast charging Apple sticks with its own 20watt wahoo. Okay so they got a faster chipped in other phones on the market so they say but it’s taken them all these years to get 120 Hz refresh rate useless it took them a whole year to work out about five different upgrades they should be ashamed of themselves with what they’ve released not saying it’s the best phone ever. Steve Jobs would roll over in his grave he saw what came out this year.
Well there you go that’s my opinion anyway and just a really poor effort on Apple’s part and have you seen the price of their accessories here in Australia AU$95 for a leather case you’ve gotta be kidding me right but at least I’ve got some decent colours better than the pro colours that they already had from last year.

What you should be yearning for is an iPhone keyboard with working punctuation.

I have to be honest, the impact of the M1 chip was pretty spectacular. I wasn’t expecting them to reinvent the wheel (or iPhone) this year and so whilst the iPhone and Watch are slightly underwhelming, they’re still pretty damn impressive, especially when coupled with the new OS.

And the iPad bumps are great, particularly the Mini. Haters gonna hate.

I'm still rocking an iPhone X and still not ready to upgrade. I used to upgrade every year and if there were ever a time when it feels like 'next year is probably the year' it's this one. I'm completely fine with my current phone other than the battery health being at 77% so getting that replaced this weekend and guessing I'll see some immediate improvement there. It really seems like the only improvement I would even care about vs. the X is the camera. 5G isn't a draw to me currently. Screen upgrades and processor speed increases are likely nice to haves that won't really impact my day to day. Am I missing anything?

Pretty boring event. The last two (introduction of the M1 Macs and of the redesigned iMac) were far better.

They could of just skipped this event it was a whole lot of nothing. Reality was just updates not real upgrades. The updates were just software for camera and Pro model screen for gamers (sitting on the toilet at work killing time.)

Take away the camera and camera software there really hasn't been much updated on smartphones in years.

One thing people seem to forget is that in mature product lines, especially extremely popular ones like the iPhone, refinement is better for sales than radical changes. People expect consistency and year over year improvements as they weigh whether or not they will jump in and upgrade. The kinds of changes this forum is advocating would drive customers away in masses. It took my wife 3 generations stop resisting upgrades and come to terms with not having touch-id. Now that she has face-id she loves it, but it took time to realize that it wasn't a novelty and prove it could be useful. But here I am talking about face-id nearly 4 years after its introduction because that is how long it took her to upgrade. The iPhone 12 Pro she just bought is an impressive upgrade over the iPhone 8 she had. And that is the experience for most customers. The question is not how good is this phone over last year's model, but how good is it over a model released 3 or 4 years ago. That is the experience for most people. If you have too many radical changes then there is no continuity and there is great resistance to upgrading or they will seek a familiar experience with another phone maker. Likewise, if there are too few changes, there is no benefit to giving up the older model.
Well reasoned. My wife and I are probably going to keep our iPhone Pro X max one more year, it works fine. But we do like the shiny toys!!

And to think Tim Cook received his record $750m bonus payday just a couple weeks before this complete crap-show of a Keynote with a laughable list of uninspiring and unexciting product releases. iPhone 12.5 and Watch 6.5 IMO

Apple really phoned this one in.

You and I are in the same boat. iPhone X still works great. I probably won't upgrade but maybe after the reviews come out...?
