Thank Jobs above I bought a blue 12 pro. These colors are disappointing to say the least… especially for the price

People smarter than I deemed it prudent to name it 13, though it seems everything a 12S would be.

It does appear apple’s focus on things other than tech development is starting to show. People keep mentioning Samsung, but Huawei is the one that will take down apple at the current pace. Especially when they have their own chip making capabilities

The 13 Pro is enough of a bump in performance that I'll be getting one, and giving my 11 Pro to my wife. Hoping the larger sensor and better lenses are worth it.

I was on a work conference today, so I missed the Apple event.

Not going to replace my 12 Pro Max but I am interested in Apple Watch and AirPods. Screen size increase and faster charging is good but I didn't see any health related benefits from upgrades. I didn't even see anything about AirPods, not sure if i missed it or not. Not overly impressed. Good improvements but not enough to make me want to drop hundreds of dollars.
You haven't missed anything. All products announced are suitable either for people that don't have an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, or have very old hardware ie iPhone 8 or earlier, Apple Watch Series 1 or 2, 6-7 years old iPad, etc. For everyone else, it just does not worth the money to update. Small improvements and updates here and there but nothing that would significantly benefit the vast majority of users in terms of usefulness, capabilities, etc.

The best joke is that they now compare performance with the unnamed competition instead of the previous model. 😂
Our new A15 bionic is 3,25% faster that A14 bionic...please give us another 1,200$ for the brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max. 😅 It is obvious that the target of the keynote were Android users and Apple wants switchers.

The ‘Apple negativity’ we see yearly is typical on discussion forums like this.
This hits the nail on the head. Forums like this and the myriad other like minded forums serve as an echo chamber for brand loyalists and the hyper aware - ie. not your everyday consumer. All the naysayers and doomslingers come out at this time of year.
For those who were wanting to upgrade one of the previous Apple Watch models, probably isn’t a target demographic for the Series 7. But for those who own an Apple Watch Series 3 or older, definitely would appreciate the upgrade.
I found the the upgrades and keynote to be a bit 'meh' but that's because I'm running a 12Pro Max and an Apple Watch Series 5. However, my wife who is on a iPhone XS is super keen on what she's seen as she's a lot further into her device lifecycle.

I'll probably still upgrade as Sierra Blue looks interesting and I'm just a sucker for new tech anyway. Plus my telco makes it almost too easy to upgrade.

It is funny to see how unknown low-profile Product Managers from Apple are presenting the new Apple products.
The cynic in me wants to say that they hit some diversity metric that can be marketed positively for Apple. But what would I know...

I quite enjoyed the keynote personally though it did seem a bit lower energy than usual, i think a couple of the presenters were a bit awkward, its not the easiest thing presenting especially if its not your main job. Will hopefully be getting the new iPhone mini in blue soon...

Sorry if this has already been discussed somewhere else, but has anyone else noticed the apparent subtle cues to new mac hardware that were placed throughout the keynote. For instance, I am not aware of a small macbook-like device with such a large screen-to-body ratio as depicted in the screenshot below. Also look at the dimensions of the keyboard compared to the rest of the lower case that appears to be stretching almost edge to edge. This doesn’t look like the current 16 inch MPB. There were other examples, IIRC during some lab shots. Is this a deliberate glimpse to the future (read anticipated October event) by Apple or am I completely mistaken about that?

Apple September 14 event - "We sell you the same product you already have, but with a marginaly better camera, chip, and battery life, with exclusive features that could as easily have just been a software update".

This event served to prove, again, how wrong these leakers are. Including the much praised Prosser Koh and Gruber. Not a single one got the Apple Watch right. Nor the launch date for the iPad Mini 6, just like they all got the new MacBook Pro launch dates wrong.
So I actually now question that idea of the iPhone 14 design Prosser made... because he was totally wrong with his Apple Watch renders even last week!
Think I'll look at the iPhone 13, it's new cameras look incredible, and the new iPad Mini.

I don't get the complaints about an "unexciting" update.. The fact the the iPhone AND Apple Watch are mature enough products to not need drastic changes is GOOD. They were selling well before, they'll continue to sell well now. Innovation isn't inherently valuable if you're approaching a functional ideal.

Is anyone genuinely unhappy with their iphone 12s and 12Pros? I'm not. :)

We don't need to be persuaded to swap our phones out every year.. It's a perfectly good update for people on a 2+ year cycle though.

And that iPad mini is lovely, and overdue.

Next up... Wait for the October event.

I’m not going to lie. I really missed Craig Federighi and Phil Schiller. I’m pretty sure they were being missed by many others.
As in: they waren’t there? True, doubt their keynote would have made more impact. Was happy with fresh faces, disappointed with their message. It is getting boring; bigger screen, smaller notch, more environmentfriendly because of small piece of bottlecap plastic.
Apple is getting way behind on the competition and cannot hide it anymore with slick marketing..

Disappointed with the 13 Pro colour choices. Midnight Green and then Ocean Blue we’re both seriously cool. This year the special colour is a pastel blue…😳

Very good event, nice upgrades… hope apple will deliver iphone withoutt oled soon, if no pwm displays are not possible, at least give us miniked with very high pwm freq, pleaase
