I’m planning to buy the new iPad Air. I have sold every single iPad and MacBook I have ever owned. It’s not quite working when I only have a company supplied computer and my SE.

Explain? Even though he got last weeks invitations wrong, he got the price of the Apple Watch SE correct: he got the U1 in series 6 correct: He got the Apple Watch SE design correct: And I could go on.

Whatever...his cocky reputation is the reason why people don't like him. He's like the boy who cried wolf. Just another guy trying to make a name for himself.

Reading your post, it makes me happy you don’t work for Apple.
A press release would have been better. “ depends what you mean by better.”
so much fluff and wasted minutes. “ clearly you don’t remember the old Apple events where they would dedicate an hour and a half to iLife and iWork.”
at least change the Apple Watch bezels or something. “ yes, spend money, time, resources, and research just to change the bezels or something, all that blood oxygen monitoring doesn’t matter, change something!!!”
2 years and that’s the best they have might stick with series 4. “ good for you, that just shows how long lasting Apple devices hare, two years later and they still work and are extremely modern.”
I don’t get excited anymore for the keynotes. “Aww, want a tissue?”
it’s hard being a Apple fan now days. “Thats new?”
even the iPhone 12 pro won’t be that interesting. “Maybe not to you, but to millions it will be.”
how can a cheaper iPad have a faster cpu than the iPad Pro. “Have you benchmark them? Because the pro is still better at multi core.”
the last iPad Pro was another useless update. “I get a lot of use out of my 2020 iPad Pro, so it’s not useless to me.”
I used to always get the new products each year but lately I don’t want to. “Then don’t, no ones forcing you to.”
where is the innovation gone; they spend more time talking about the environment than give up great hardware. “ they have been talking about the environment for years. It has nothing to do with their innovation level.

Apple have a value problem coming up. Historically, there has been a strong fanbase who would update annually. There is so little in these new products that if you have an AW4 or even an AW3 there is no justification in getting the newest devices. The small bumps (even collectively) don't add up to the cost of a new watch less whatever resale you get for the old one.

These products are now only for new adopters, clumsy users who break their old ones, and that small group with more money than sense that need to have new. I was actually looking forward to an upgraded watch however it seems for $1000 I can have a watch that looks and performs pretty much the same as my current watch.

Time to find some new toys elsewhere to play with.

PS They need iPhone 12 to really sing or they will be back to sub 2T value for some time.

They’re so excited about everything at Apple. It’s as if they believe if they say that they are excited enough times it might actually turn out to be true. It isn’t. God I hope there is someone at Apple actually trying to innovate still. There sure is no compelling evidence of it.

Today was the most boringly inconsequential product announcement ever. The breathless gushing over virtually nothing of consequence was just pathetic.

Exactly I’m starting to think why am I such an Apple fan, I used to get every new product each year but not anymore the Apple Watch and iPad Pro has been horrible updates

Wall St. wasn't too impressed by the announcements. No movement in $AAPL.
Nothing much that happens there seems to be connected to what actually happens at present or indicative of much one way or another.

That was a disappointing event. I was expecting ARM MacBooks, but I guess the chipsets aren't ready to compete yet or something. I'm not going to lie, but the Microsoft Duo and Neo announcements were far more exciting. Sure, one could argue that the Duo hasn't faired well due to software, but the hardware on both the Surface Neo and Duo devices is something completely new and innovative. Only time will tell what Windows 10X on the Neo will be like, but I see more promise in the Neo with 10X.

**UNDERWHELMING**

Apple hasn't wowed me in a few years now... Still waiting for something worthwhile from Apple. Miss Steve 😥

Upgraded chips in the same form factors and new services you don't need don't wow you every year? ;) What was the last big external innovation in portable devices? Face ID 3 years ago? :(

What cracks me up is so many people crying about lack of innovation at Apple, and yet when pressed, they have not been able to articulate what that might or could be, even at the most rudimentary top level. It's just a big bowl of whine to feel better about themselves.
Custom watch faces. Blood pressure. Instant oxygen metering (or just don't do it, just useless). Better glass. Better battery life instead of "much better processor X", capable of doing exactly the same without being more power efficient at all. And put the specs back on the home page! That the 7 minutes event cut still feels like it is 5 minutes too long says it all.
And of course: iPad mini air pro max plus (aka first real revision since 8 years).

You know, nobody makes you watch these Apple events if you don't want to. If you feel it's a waste of minutes, just don't watch. I didn't watch the event, just the recap. Many people really enjoy the events, and some have entire YouTube channels that discuss the new features, and people get enjoyment out of those videos. Personally not my thing, but hey, to each their own. You're not being hurt by anything.

I am curious though: exactly what kind of innovation do you expect Apple to come out with? Changing the Apple Watch bezels is innovation? iPad Air has a faster processor than iPad Pro, but it's because it's a newer device. Should Apple put out under performing hardware just to not hurt the feelings of those who bought the iPad Pro? I have the iPad Pro 11 inch and it still runs everything like a champ. No issues at all. The stuff iPad Air gets now I've had for two years.

Few of these tech companies are innovating because there's no need to. Getting your hopes up on a keynote or what devices a company comes out with is not healthy. Go enjoy life. It's way too short to get bummed out because a tech company doesn't innovate to your satisfaction.

You are forgetting about the much better battery life, simply because the batteries in old watches are dying.

I’m so sick of seeing this. Do you know why? Cause the tech isn’t new anymore. It’s very mature. What do you want them to do? It’s just a phone or a watch. You want it to teleport you around or something
I agree with you to a degree but don't think it's true of the Apple Watch. It felt like the year it became stale and hasn't had a real update for a couple of years. There is plenty of room for improvement for the Watch:
- Needs to be significantly thinner
- Needs to have a significantly better battery (1 day vs Fitbit's 6)
- Needs to remove the black bezel from the edge of the screen

Almost all of what was announced in terms of functionality could be achieved with a software update to existing devices. The watch has not seen a serious update since Series 4.

When is the iPhone release though? Watch and iPad upgrades should be compliments.

That and with the watches some people like to match the colour of the phone. Does that mean that there for sure will be a blue phone that you can match the watch to? I'm guessing most likely but would be good to know before you buy the watch if you like being all matchy matchy.

Always on was a serious update.

I would say had they improved core features (screen, battery, weight/size), it would be OK... But if the biggest feature is a half-assed implementation of oxygen metering I seriously don't see why anyone would buy series 6.
