Apple today held its annual iPhone-centric event, which saw the debut of the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 5, and 10.2-inch iPad, along with new details on Apple Arcade and Apple TV+.

It took Apple just under two hours to introduce all of the new devices, but we've recapped the entire event in just seven minutes for our readers who want a no-frills but thorough overview of all of the announcements.

The new iPhone 11 ($699), which is the successor to the iPhone XR is Apple's new lower-cost flagship device, while the iPhone 11 Pro ($999) and the iPhone 11 Pro Max ($1099) are aimed at people who want the most pro features for their iPhones.

Apple added dual cameras to the iPhone 11, triple cameras to the 11 Pro, and all the new iPhones have a better TrueDepth camera system, a faster A13 chip, and tons more. The Apple Watch Series 5, meanwhile, has a new always-on display.

We've rounded up all of our coverage of today's event below, so make sure to check out everything so you don't miss any of the updates.

Aside from lower price points with smart phones, what else are consumers ‘asking’ for that you’re inferring should be innovative?
A phone without bump, which has a grip, even without case.
A phone that fits in your pocket and is cheap, aka a successor to the SE, something like a scaled down XR.
A watch that only needs to be recharged every other day. And/or a watch that's significantly thinner.

By innovation only?

I think they forgot the innovation part. New/more camera sensors aren't exactly what consumers are asking for...

So what are consumers asking for? Or better yet, what are YOU asking for?

Let's not forget all of the internal improvements. New SoC that enables features like the dual and triple cameras to perform even better, Night Mode, telephoto mode... these are all improvements that do not exist in the previous generation phones.

So what are you waiting for that's "innovative"? A phone that sings and dances for you?

8 Plus is still satisfying me plentifully. I still love the button and the lack of face ID. I’m not tempted for those new phones, but the matte glass definitely is a interesting feat. Holds better, doesn’t leave fingerprints all while a first possible scratch won’t ruin that pristine look. Heck, I might wish an 8 Plus with an aftermarket matte back!

They could deliver a "humpless" phone, but the phone would need to be thicker, or the photo quality would need to be lower. The hump works with light physics to enable the camera to perform as it does. The depth serves a purpose. If they made this change, there would still be complainers.

I agree that a smaller-form phone needs to return to the lineup.

I only charge my Apple Watch every other day. The thickness has not been a concern. Keep in mind that reducing the thickness makes the battery smaller, so you'd get even less battery life. Pick your battles.

I enjoyed the event... I just wish there was that "one more thing" moment where Apple announced the AR Glasses or the Tile competitor.

The marketplace, particularly online, is so crowded and noisy now. So much news, so much information being thrown at consumers nowadays. I think they made a choice to focus on key releases, and not talk about any other stuff like macOS, which they have in the past. They seemed to want to keep the talk laser-focused.

Looks like another skip year for me. Don't see anything better than what I have now.

Look again.
  • Node Mode.
  • WiFi 6.
  • Better battery life.
  • Better CPU + GPU that enable a new range of apps.
That's just 4 things you don't have now. But if what you have now serves your needs, that's great. But we shouldn't downplay the new release as having "nothing new", because that's false.

I wasn’t expecting very much but I like that they are hearing consumers complaints about prices. Good to see a wider price range. I also liked that Apple+ is only $5. I also thought it was very cool of them to add a free year for people who buy new products.

Yup, they really put a strong focus on price, for sure. Something for everyone, affordable even for low-income families.

I bet the $4.99 price for Apple TV+ is that low because the selection will also be low. We know that Netflix already has a bad rap for having a poor selection in certain regions. The US Netflix has way more content than the Canadian Netflix, for example, yet we pay the same price.

I was really hoping for the item tracker that has been rumored since before WWDC. I was thinking they would be announced today given all the references in iOS 13 betas. Also surprised iOS 13 won't be out on the 17th, and that iPadOS will not be out at the same time.

The phones look solid. Some nice improvements in the camera department, more processing power. Next year is going to be interesting. Will they still offer a phone with an LCD display? Let's hope so. USB-C? They kinda have to. Including the 18W charger with the 11 Pro is great, but still shipping the 5W with the 11 is sort of inexcusable.

It's going to be really interesting to see how the watch OLED displays are going to hold up with always being on. As for the compass, I have wished that my S4 had a compass on several occasions. Glad to see that it's finally added. I wish they would bring the woven nylon bands back at some point, or something similar.

A watch that only needs to be recharged every other day. And/or a watch that's significantly thinner.

I only charge my Apple Watch S4 every other day. Would prefer once a week.
