Padded out cringe fest! Felt more like a I’ll have a go staff party than a keynote! Don’t need 40 odd people explaining things with onscreen naff eyecandy to pad it all out.

think they spent more time introducing names of staff members than on actual product.
very disappointing…

I like the 9 minute recap video. Thanks, Dan

I think a lot of users on here are going to release just how much there is in iOS 15 and MacOS Monterey, once they have digested more of the material, instead of being quick to react.
There really is an amazing level of maturity and refinement being added via core capabilities integrating across apps and platforms.

PLUS they gave me the beginnings of contact centric search I’ve been pining for. The next upgrade will probably allow 3rd party integration. 🤞

Really looking forward to some of the new features coming in iOS and Messages.

Those of you expecting hardware releases at WWDC haven’t been paying attention, it never happens.

I don't think you've been paying attention. Hardware has been announced at WWDC before, and will be again in the future. It's just never a guarantee that it will, given the nature of the event.

Love the 9 minute summary, thanks Dan!

Uhh say what? It has happened a several WWDC over the past ten years. I didn’t expect it this year but “it never happens” is just incorrect.

I was underwhelmed by most of what they showed today. The privacy enhancements and iCloud+ are all I really care about. Happy to see those changes. Tracking me across the web is going to be difficult now and I like that.

I liked the presentation. A lot was covered. The Memoji audience was...happy to be there

Live Text looks very cool.

Taking pictures then making a 3D object would be a great feature for iPhones. Use LIDAR and combine it with snapshots to make 3D objects.

More detailed maps is great.

Does the weather app make sounds? For example when there's lightning on the screen.

I laughed when the file was moved across 3 screens with Universal Control.

I, like others, was underwhelmed by the event today and disappointed in the lack of new hardware.

However, as I pondered everything and tried to think positive thoughts, I began to realize how thankful I am for the existence of MacRumors.

At the risk of sounded like a major bootlicker, in all seriousness I honestly do appreciate the fact that MacRumors gives us all a place to converse and to yes---even to vent a bit when we are disappointed. Much better than having a lot more pent-up frustration in the world.

True that if MacRumors didn't exist, another entity would likely try to take its place. However, I doubt if they could do as good of a job. I appreciate having it as my home page in my browser and basically automatically be able to keep up with all things Apple (and then some) on a daily basis every time I pop open Safari.

Big thanks to Dan and the MR staff for what probably at times seems like a thankless job.

You truly are appreciated.

All these features are just toys, and plenty of them to keep you hooked to the phone. I am 46 and I never needed any of that to have a life. Thanx God.
Most of what I saw is what makes Apple untouchable. What you find useless 100s of millions of Apple customers will love how their devices are designed to make their lives better in ways they never thought of.

The Shiftscreen app announced way more productive updates today than the entirety of iPadOS. If it weren’t for the app I would’ve considered selling my iPad Pro and have gone for a MacBook or maybe a Windows alternative.

I liked the event, and thanks for the summary. It was good to see focus on the features (even though I don't cared about some), the developers and the relationship. There has been so much bad press the last year so I think developers appreciate the focus ... and also glad there was no HW announced, that would have been a distraction ...

Not surprised. No MacBook Pro announcements until fall with a M2 chip. When released, it will be a killer. Or it could be later in 2022. No big problem, except for those needing a major upgrade. Wait to the fall.
