Underwhelming and boring. The affected, over the top and saccharin fanboy/girl cheerleading throughout was embarrassing. They would have been better off holding it in private or even just canceling it.

"Universal Control" there's actually a program called Synergy that's been doing this for decades. At my first job, my main dev machine was Linux, but they asked me to work on some Mac stuff since I knew both. I setup up an iMac next to me and used Synergy to move my mouse and keyboard back and forth between them. Now THAT was magic

Yes, they do.

The presentation was about software. It was downright foolish for people to get wrapped up in forum hype and hardware release rumors from leakers looking to be popular.

Without a live in person “conference” why would people expect new hardware? Or even an in depth roadmap. Nobody is there for handson or an actual conference.

What they need is to bring back MacWorld Expo for an in person experience with M2 macs as soon as it’s feasible.

They’ve been introducing products for a year now without having a physical conference.

that was a pretty low featured keynote due to COVID-19 i guess

The iPad new multitasking looks great, way way better, the iPhone new notifications redesign is nice... all the other feature are like stability and groundwork, that is a good thing (like the health app that's keeps getting better and better) but it doesn't have the wow effect.

personally, i just wanted those 3D big Sur icons and depth and shadows on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS... had enough with that flat design.

Due to covid? They had more than 40 to announce stuff more than you can have at a funeral in the Uk…
It felt like I been invited to a staff party, I honestly think Tim asked around to see what staff member wanted a day out at the apple doughnut after a year stuck indoors with covid.

As disappointed as I am in this year's showing, I think it's also worth appreciating that they developed multiple completely secret new OS versions for each of their platforms in the middle of a pandemic, which is no easy task. Hopefully a return to working in person will allow Apple to ramp up development and get some more impressive features next year.

What a let down. MR foretold surprises and there were none.

Did they are was it the analysts and rumor starters? Certainly MR was guilty of over emphasizing the same rumors with multiple articles leading to this big gasp of OMG no announcements.

It is a Developer focused meeting. That is why there were no consumer toys released. You were mislead by stupid leaks and hype on here.

Apple often announces hardware at WWDC when it would appeal to developers. 2 years ago it was the Mac Pro. The new MBPs would have been a good fit this year but, with all of the component shortages, the release schedule is chaotic and didn’t align with WWDC.
