firing on all cylinders? I can think of one cylinder that Apple chose not to mention today.

There's always some dummy who isn't happy. No freakin MBAir, iPod, mini or whatever! Please, those products are duds, like the plastic MB that everyone cried over. If they were so good Apple would be updating them. Move on. Bring your crap to a landfill and move on!

First time I saw Apple ask the audience if they were excited about the new updates...most of the audience seemed bored out of their minds .

Apple pretty much showed they are THE only option where it comes to computers and technology.
I know a lot of the tech blogs hate to say it, some are still clinging to the mess that is Android and MS. But everything here just screams best tech you can buy.
What on earth does that even mean, you mind putting in an argument or two for that?

I think this has been the first time since Steve's passing that an Apple keynote has actually excited me.
  • Loving the new 27-inch 5K iMacs with both USB-A and USB-C (Thunderbolt 3), plus it still has a real headphone jack and a SD card slot! They just need to fix the MacBook Pros now.
  • The new 21.5-inch 4K iMacs are actually worth buying now.
  • It looks like they stealthily released a small processor update to the MacBook Airs too.
  • I like the even cheaper 13-inch MacBook Pro option too, for those that don't need much storage.
  • Some minor price cuts across the board, despite all the updates (at least here in Australia).
  • That new iMac Pro too. Dayum!
Some faith in Apple has been restored.

You guys got new Disney characters on the watch. A redesigned ugly control center, a $350 echo dot, and a $5000 mac computer. I mean are you not entertained!?!?!?

5000 for a new macpro( ... I will be keeping my 5.1 for sure a while longer

It's not a Mac Pro. It's an iMac. They said they're working on a new Mac Pro ('cause the trash can didn't go over so well) but it won't be ready until next year at least.

I have so much hope with Apple after this launch, Apple is Indeed in very capable hands of Tim Cook. Truly the Best Presentation ever under Mr. Cook. He is listening and just gave the products of our dreams. Something that we kept asking Apple for years, but Apple just out did itself this time. I am absolutely blown away, impressed and in awe from the generous iMac Pro offering by Apple. In some sense, Tim Cook outdid Steve in many ways for that matter. Thankyou Tim.

I sensed an overall energy of panic in their event. Too much, too intense and too eager to prove something. At what point did they loose their self confidence? Might be related to Mr. Cook making politics a new and important Business Area.

Me too.
People sure like to read in their own feelings into things.

I hope the HomePod gets the old Time Capsule functionality built in for future generations.

I agree with this. They should have gone all in and given it storage and networking functions. But Apple are never ones to let everything out of the bag at once. We might see this over time, heck, it could even be an Apple TV too at some point.

I thought today's keynote was great and one of the better WWDC events in a while. Lots of surprises and a good step forward for a bunch of stuff in their line. The MAC lineup in particular feels more cohesive now. The iMac Pro really surprised me. Just killer to see the iMac line get a model that powerful.

This has to be sarcastic...

This was a great keynote. The hardware announcements showed they are listening to customers and willing to correct the course on things. It really has helped to restore my faith in the guidance of the company.

Software wise I like that the new MacOS is "Snow Leopard" type release. I think it is a smart move to do every other year. Especially considering it transitions the file system. The update to Photos looks great and am happy that faces now syncs across devices.

The watchOS stuff was pretty lackluster. Whenever they bring that guy on stage I just can't help but think that he was the bozo who argued for Flash after Steve Jobs penned his letter on Flash. The new watch faces are not for me. The Siri face is interesting but I had hoped very much to see smart complications across the board on all faces. Let me designate a complication that changes based on my location, time of day, or activity. I also am not a fan of the dock on the watch. I think the Watch just need to anticipate what I want to do or what is active on my phone. Playing a podcast then I expect the Now playing app or the Music/Podcast app to be one swipe away. Hopefully that comes next year.

iOS looks great especially on the iPad. Glad they are starting to move the iPad forward and not be bound by the iPhone features. Drag & drop looks awesome. The new multitasking looks awesome. The iPad is slowly becoming a viable platform to work on. Now they just need to try and address some key markets. Do a rountable with some web developers and see what they would need to work primarily from an iPad and then make it happen.

The updates to Camera.app look awesome. They need to continue to double down on that stuff. The effects are great. The long exposure stuff so great.

App Store redesign is much welcome. For a long time I felt they should split games out into their own store. This is more or less the same thing and should give more visibility to apps.

The speaker looks good. I dislike the name. Interesting that they marketed it mostly as a speaker rather than a voice assistant. Perhaps that will change before release if maybe Siri is getting an update later in the year when the new iPhone comes.

Things I want that were missing in action:

- Break iTunes apart
- Rule syncing for Mail.app
- Dark mode on iOS
- New App Store app on Mac

Did I miss something...this might seem like a minor point but did Apple forget to supply a back case for the new iPad Pros?

I went to Apple's website and they have the Smart Cover and Smart Keyboard but no back case like for the older 9.7" and 12.9". I thought the 10.5" had slight larger dimensions.

I know there are now "sleeves" but we don't even know if an iPad can fit in it with a Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard attached...besides having to take it out of a sleeve all the time instead of flipping a cover is a little annoying.

The Smart Keyboard I purchased from Apple for my 9.7 iPad doesn't cover the back.

New iMac Pro and the brain trust still can't figure out how to make the screen adjustable.
Yes I am very impressed with all the fancy shmancy hardware but nothing is really innovative.
It's a dark grey iMac that we have to wait 6 months for and shell out way north of 5 grand if you want to have serious power.

:apple: nailed it, my faith is back. i'm again ready to throw my money at you, apple.

high sierra will be the best OS of all time, cant wait to try this one out.:)
they realized whats the most important: stable fluid workflow all over the place.

now what could be improved?

- new mac pro (already in the pipes)
- switch to Nvidia
- a quad mac mini
- wired capability backlit touchbar keyboard
- wired capability magic mouse with force touch
- surface studio sized iOS device !?

They updated the Mac Pro two months ago and also told us that they are working on an overhaul that will happen next year.
