Multiple music playlists on Apple Watch... yeah!!!! Thank you (about time). Disappointed by lack of new watch faces.
But what about Buzz Lightyear and pals?

Without permission, take your favourite movie, cut a 7 minute summary that basically gives away the best of the whole movie, the whole plot and story, etc.

Redistribute your cut for profit.

And see how long it takes you to get sued.

Fair use doesn't mean what you think it means.

But..in this case, Apple probably doesn't mind their info being distributed, and it's very likely macrumors has permission anyway.
That would be a movie synopsis not a news report, hardly the same thing.
[doublepost=1496744173][/doublepost]I noticed the new iPad Pro still has a headphone jack; just saying...

You guys got new Disney characters on the watch. A redesigned ugly control center, a $350 echo dot, and a $5000 mac computer. I mean are you not entertained!?!?!?

The echo-like functionality was a really a footnote, at the end of the announcement. Clearly, it's all about the audio quality, and it sounds like they have some pretty cool design/technology in there, so there's absolutely no point sh**ing all over it until you've heard it. It doesn't take a genius to know that building a compact, high quality speaker is no simple task. If they've managed that, then it's absolutely worth the difference in price.

You just described a movie review. Those aren't illegal.

So why would Apple mention something about which they are still keeping under wraps?

Um... what? They should have announced the new device so developers could prepare their apps for new devices. Is it really that hard, or are you just arguing like I have seen you do with almost every other post you make? This is WWDC, and most of the people here are iOS developers.

Apple haters and bashers, you now have your marching orders. Quit crying and Get out on those blogs and start trolling.

Trolling? What did I say that wasn't true? Many of us want smaller ios devices and Macs that can be upgraded. Both of these things were actively ignored by Apple. They took all the objections we had with the mac pro and made them worse by putting it in an imac. The macMini is the weakest of the line and by not updating it (again) they it leaves the lowest machine to develop for that much slower. Why develop AAA games for the mac if you know a lot of the end users wont have the power to play your software? They took the normal iPad and made it bigger. They ignored all of their mini devices. Considering this is the developer conference it really shows where Apple's priorities are. Maybe apple can stop trolling us.

The best Apple event in years. Most wishes came true which were demanded by people for years.
True, they finally got the mac machinery going..good to see, but all the good stuff
is 6 months to a year or more away. and the mac mini?
They're ceding that space to hp and others.

Great investment for film producers. :)

My first thought too, but the iMac body hurts it. I think it's a great tool for film, but a bad investment as you can't upgrade it. I bet if the components are good it will last 5 years before 8k becomes big. If you can treat it as a disposable tool it's the best one out there. I'm more excited about external GPUs for film.

That's fair, but how much better do you suspect it will be? They compared it to Sonos, which sound really good, and can be used to cover the entire house for a lot of money, and alexa that adds voice comands for 1/7th the price. I have no doubts that apple made a great speaker, but I worry this device isn't really going to be supported. Who is it going against? It needs surround sound speakers for the apple tv, weatherproof speakers that can be left outside, and in wall speakers for the bathrooms and hallways. I'd love my music to follow me, turning on and off as I move. Echo (kinda) adds siri like functionality with sonos. If apple supports their solution by increasing the variety of speakers it offers it could be a really good solution for the money.

I'm also worried that it's just siri in a beats pill, but I'll hold that back till we hear it.

$4999 for an imac pro. No thanks. Its a weird time. Most everyone is on laptops in my company I still prefer desktop though. Unless your doing video or 3d pro is unncessary

That's why there are multiple faces. I'd personally stick to the Siri Face.
I was hoping that there would be some new watch faces for adults. It seems that most people I see with the Apple Watch are over the age of 30, so why all these children's watch faces?

I sensed an overall energy of panic in their event. Too much, too intense and too eager to prove something. At what point did they loose their self confidence? Might be related to Mr. Cook making politics a new and important Business Area.

Say what? Panic? They didn't "loose" anything.
They pretty much hit it out of the park. The iMacs, MBP and MBA are refreshed. There are some nice enhancements to teach OS. There is a new iPad model with iOS enhancements specifically for the iPad. There is a new home smart speaker and it sounds like Siri is getting smarter. To be honest, I use my iPad as a virtual assistant for most of things Alexa does.
The iPhone event is yet to come.

Regarding Cook's comments about societal/political issues. Each of things he has addressed impacts Apple. He is just as free to do this as other executives do regarding "conservative" talking points. Before POtuS got into politics he also voiced opinions on social/political topics. (POtuS just wasn't/isn't that smart!)

People sure like to read in their own feelings into things.

Projection.

He says that like they're going to distribute it Worldwide and then release it on DVD for $19.99. /lmao

Did you watch WWDC? Synopsis for you: They built a similar PC and it was over $7000. Just like every PC that has similar specs to a Mac or any other Apple product.

And iPhones haven't been announced or previewed at WWDC at the very least for quite some time. Why would there be some expectation of something different?

Why would we expect something different from Apple...

Something different?

You are so right. What is wrong with me... This is no place to think different.

What an insightful reply. You must have been a master of schoolyard debates when you were in grade 2.

The post to which I responded asserted without foundation that the MacRumors video did not fall within the fair use doctrine. I happen to know that it does. You can take or leave my post, but there are those here who wanted my opinion on the issue. If you're not among that group, then just ignore it.

There was plenty of foundation in that post. If you feel the need to reply to a post without reading it, it says a great deal about you.

The picture on the Apple site under mac says it all, scroll down to 'Compare Mac Models', no mac mini anywhere.

Great investment for film producers. :)
They stuffed high-end HW in the nearest enclosure (iMac) to be found. Wauw. Thereby blurring the Consumer/Pro line again. The guy who assembled a competing $7000 PC also could have found something in the 3000-range if he was slightly more keen and ever googled "hackintosh".
External gpu is the only announcement that answers expandibility and a good sign.
[doublepost=1496819954][/doublepost]As a TouchBar developer, I am greatly disappointed.
Before the show, I was ready to support Phil in courageous action to give the TouchBar the attention and momentum needed.
Well, what a letdown !
No TouchBar seminars, no TouchBar curriculae
No TouchBar gifts (such as wipers)
No TouchBar on a new Magic Keyboard.
Not just underwhelming promotion but complete lack of strategy:
Not included across the MacBook line, a modest investment from Apples part, that would have greatly rewarded them on the longer term. Not on homepud (or whatever boombox they're after)
Apple's greatest innovation of 2016 has been marginalised within half a year and remains what it is: a row of emoji's, backed in hardware.
I will never believe Phil and his cheap promises again. I despise that kind of cheap opportunistic salesguys (now running after his boombox).
I will quit as a TB developer and demand them to return all my WWDC expenses.
