I think way too many people are excited about this update but once you look at it with a clear head and fresh eyes, its utter trash.

...

WatchOS and iPadOS were non existent but well done on selling M4 iPads to fools.

...
Overall very good upgrade, some of the WatchOS updates are the most exciting.

I wonder who would, with all the words in the world, come up with a name like Apple Intelligence -So arrogant and completely lame.
Arrogant? Hardly. It was a standard marketing ploy that goes back to the beginnings of TV advertising in the mid 20th century - take something common and put a personalized spin on it to make it stand out in a sea of similar offerings.

This is the best iOS update they done in many years as it's been stagnant for so long.

I was expecting AI right from the start. They managed to last thru more than 60% without mentioning AI! 👏🏼

After hearing all those things, the markets took almost 2% off the value of Apple stock 🤦‍♂️

My biggest question in all of this is - to what extend can I disable the “AI” integration?
The only thing that seems slightly useful to me is the notification summaries. Everything else (and especially those dumb generated images that seem like the sort of thing people try for giggles and then never touch again) does not interest me in the slightest.

So, will it be possible to turn it off? Or will I just have to stay on Sonoma indefinitely?
Automatic proof-reading and correction of emails is a small but significant feature that will meaningfully improve my typo-ridden life.

Not arrogant. It denotes that the feature is Apple based. And as such, will be built and integrated specifically for Apple devices. It is no different than Ford Mustang or Chevy Cruze, BMW etc.

I think if you are going to complain, do it about something real instead of something you made up just to gripe.

It’s also a company named Apple introducing an AI initiative. It’s a pretty clear pun on the phrase “Artificial Intelligence”. Hats off to the person who convinced the suits on that name.

I wonder whether so-called Apple Intelligence will become pro-exclusive. I want Apple Intelligence on iPad mini🥺
Just guessing, but this IS something Apple would do, maybe for the next few years??
AI Exclusive to
15 Pro / Pro Max.
16 Pro / Pro Max

...MAYBE, just maybe by 2026, the 2 year old [basic] AI will hit non pro 17s? 🤷🏻‍♂️
**BUT...more advanced, new Apple Intelligence features will be exclusive to 17 Pro / Pro Max

Simply put...you want the jacked up features, you have to go pro.

Indeed - the whole thing was a bit cringe honestly
Thinking Craig knew he would be teased, meme'ed like previous years. So why not? He went all in.
Poking fun at himself with the "LIDAR Hair Dryer?" I don't know, didn't bug me.

BUT this jumping around in a stairwell..yeah I immediately though of "The Office" - classic Parkour cold open. 😆

To me this WWDC was the best one in years, with several "whoa" features I loved to see.

No, the iPad is still not a Mac replacement for everyone. No, we still don't get landscape operation for most Apple apps.

No, we did not get mention of Mac hardware...

But the ON DEVICE AI, Siri changes, and handwriting stuff was enough for me.

Looking forward to updating everything this fall.

So no AI for those with Intel?
Nope, I personally kind of feel like this guy...
One of these days...years, I'll upgrade to Apple chips on iMac, but honestly I simply don't need it right now.

Movable icons are lame and very non-Apple, instead of simplicity they are overcomplicating everything. At least it looked like that in the keynote.

I am OK with AI features that they have even personally branded, but adding GPT’s image generator was kinda controversial. People have been talking for many month already how uncanny-looking generated pictures are.

Genmoji was fun, I doubt I will ever use it but it is a fun idea and should have been available before.

It feels like they are late to the party — all these features (except AI maybe) should have been available in iOS 15, not iOS 18. Their slow pace is very triggering. I guess total iOS UI overhaul would only be in version 20
you don't have to cutomize, but being more flexible is one of the fundamental drive behind new techs

A good solid WWD 24 keynote, people forget its aimed at developers,
No one here mentions the fact that so many new API's and frameworks are going to make dev's lives a joy to explore.

Been running iOS 18 since last night. Running great so far. Love all the little changes to the UI. Feels refreshing. Just wish Apple allowed more multitasking like 2 opened apps in a split screen view.
