Terrific there's new wallpaper and a larger LTE icon, but how about a real usability improvement, like allowing sharing an entire photos library between different appleIDs? We are forced to log into our i-devices with the same appleID to get around Apple's lack of user friendliness for this common problem among families.

Lol, if you think there’s something “common” about an 8 person family... not wanting to share a few photos, but literally wanting the EXACT same camera roll on all devices... ummm, I hate to break it to you; but the 1st thing I thought (or can imagine anyone else thinking), is “wow, that is super weird”.

Like there’s either some severe next-level co-dependency issues, deep knit into the entire family (very unhealthy), or... (probably a lot more likely), you’re an extreme control freak that imagines your family enjoys total lack of privacy, choice, & wants an identical camera roll on all 8 devices.
I can assure you... they do NOT.
If nobody has let you know that yet:
Work on communication too.
Maybe they’re scared to tell you?
There’s WAY too much to unpack in your story than to worry about iCloud storage!
I’m trying to imagine a world where an entire family has zero individual experiences & literally every single thing any of them experience is 100% communal with the entire family...
I guess cult members, living on a compound, that are disallowed communication with the outside world springs to mind... but I hardly think this could be “common”.

Fellow iPad user here. I don’t understand what you’re referring to. Could you please elaborate?

I think he means that sometimes the split-screen divider (the light grey indicator) jumps to the top of the screen. I couldn’t find what triggers it, but I can resize the windows using the indicator at its new location. It looks something like this:

it is INSANE how many things Apple has finally started to put in the iOS for their stuff after all the cool jailbreak options. Why fight a war you can't win with the jailbreak community when you can just listen to the users and give us what we want?

Sure, there are still other cool tweaks you simply can't get with a walled OS but more and more, they are bending the knee to the true winners of the war. If they just give us what we wish to see, there would be no need to jailbreak, for the most part.

I think ordinary users have never heard of jailbreak and won't even bother with it. And I think Apple has never been bothered stoping that small minority from Jailbreaking theri phones. I used to Jailbreak years ago. not anymore.

I don't know about everyone else but for me there's much less reason to jailbreak now. All the things I jailbroke for Apple eventually incorporated into iOS. When I had an iPod touch (before I had an iPhone), it was almost always jailbroken, but since moving to iPhone 6 years ago (!) there's bit little merit in having a jailbroken device.

Gotta say, I’m really loving the new CarPlay in iOS 13. So many pet peeves have been fixed. This just makes it even better.
It's pretty flawless for me - CarPlay has got 100x more useful for me in iOS 13. Having the overview display of music, maps and calendar is a godsend. Just hoping for more apps as time goes on.

CarPlay has been working nearly flawlessly on my A5 Sportback. The only issues I encountered are the occasional drop of navigation mid-route and very infrequent loss of radio volume control after receiving an incoming phone call.
In my Vauxhall (Opel) Astra, I have some issues with calls sometimes dropping as soon as I answer them, and as far as I know this is only since iOS 13. Otherwise, other than a couple of UI bugs, it's pretty sweet.
More generally, since late iOS 12 updates or iOS 13 betas, sometimes my head unit will crash out of CarPlay when connecting the phone, and you just have to wait for the iPhone to re-trigger CarPlay. Can be pretty annoying.

Without being on the beta, my guess is the divider jumps to the top when the onscreen keyboard is activated and then gets stuck.

Damn it I want the live wallpaper from iPhone X and the ability to create my own...

How's that iPad beta feeling people? I really want to try it to get the desktop browser and a few other sweet features....

Going great with me and I am on the public beta for ipad. Knock on wood, it keeps going that way.

When using two apps in split screen, you can drag the divider between them to change from 75-25 to 50-50, say. On ios13 betas, the divider stops working. When this happens, the little tab that is vertically centered in the divider shifts, usually toward the top of the screen.

When it happens to me I can’t re-size the windows with it.

The Files app is still a disaster for external drives. It has a LONG way to go to be ready in time for launch. I would not be surprised at all if external drive support isn’t punted to iOS 13.1 or iOS 13.2.

What a cluster, and we’re only around 45-50 days from iPadOS launching, and you still can’t even do basic things like copying files between drives. Wow.
Its still in beta, WOW.

I was just about to say....probably VERY religious. 99.9 percent of iOS users do not want that ability.

Also you don't have to imagine that world. Watch Handmaids Tale. :D

Some people just don’t get it.

Why would you want to share an entire photo library instead of setting up shared albums?

I mean, I live in a family, and can’t imagine I’d want my photo library cluttered with my kid’s screen shots of Kawaii fruits and vegetables, nor would my wife be interested in my screenshots of Xcode windows.

You say it’s a common problem, but I can’t imagine ANY family that would be interested in such a feature - it sounds horrifying.

Well, after working reasonably well for the first day, the email app appears to be back to its ios13 beta crappiness.

Still can't just put the desktop icons where you want them.
Still no haptic/taptic feedback in the keyboard.
Still have to slide down control center in order to see the battery percentage.
Still Notifications need a complete redesign.

This is a funny one 'cant put the desktop icons where you want them' - is your finger broken???

New Notes have extra bold and larger fonts on the very first line of text, though that feature remains extremely buggy. New feature on beta 5...?

How buggy...? If the first line of text remains empty by pressing Return, subsequent return to first line via Backspace will return the formatting similar with the rest of the text fields.

You may be too young to remember this, but at the time it first appeared, the volume HUD was considered tres magnifique and the height of fashion.
I don't remember that. But Apple's volume always bothered me like crazy.

PS I am probably older than you are ;)

I wish the volume slider was like „floating“ on the screen and you could move it anywhere. I would prefer it on the right side of the screen for example. Trying to expand my finger to reach it on the iPhone XS Max makes me almost drop my phone
