This was horribly confusing to read: "Battery level is available on the iPhone 12 and 12 models, with the exception of the 5.4-inch ‌iPhone 12‌ and iPhone 13. It is also available on the iPhone X and XS, but not the iPhone 11 or the ‌iPhone‌ XR."
iPhone 12 and 12 models? 5.4" iPhone 12 and iPhone 13? Couldn't you have just said iPhone mini 12 and 13?

Only Apple can take a feature away for a while bring it back like it's something new and have people praise them lol.

So the battery bar doesn’t drop with the percentage on, but drops when it’s off. Interesting. Maybe it’s an issue with the font and how it would transition with different backgrounds.

Some nice small quality of life updates!

Now if they could add the an option where it connects you to a public Wi-Fi and you press cancel, it allows you to go back to cellular rattler then selecting another network or connect with no internet, iOS16 will be a winner!

What’s that up in the sky? Is that a pig?

I would love it if this kind of stuff is all they did for the next two years. Every now and then you get a hint like someone at Apple is listening to the basic requests we’ve been begging for years.

They want you to upgrade. They can pound sand, and it'll just look like one more reason why the OS is becoming frayed, like Android. Do they really want to lose that leg up on the competition? Android keeps improving. IOS keeps fraying.
Fraying? Like Android 11 with 29% adoption rate and 10 with 22%?

Meanwhile iOS 15.5 (latest public) has 66.74% adoption

Tell me again about fraying 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Little irritated that you can't have percentage and see a visual indication. It looks very wrong having a filled battery with only 51% left.

Also used copy and delete for that screenshot, from my phone to the Mac.

I’ve just turned off the battery percentage because I don’t think I could cope if the level analogue indicator doesn’t change like it always has.

And I thought nurses had it bad!

How are they explaining leaving the battery percentages off of iPhone 11 and XS? It literally just sits inside the battery icon?

What exactly would that do? Not sure what the combined function does and how it would be useful.
Right now when you take a screenshot, you have two options to send/share it.

1. The share sheet
2. Save the photo, then send it through Photos app or directly from the app you want to send it in.

This new feature will allow you to "delete" the image, so it never gets saved in the Photos app, and then go into any app and paste the image there.

Ok, I gotta ask... Why are people so hung up on a numeric charge indicator? I mean, the little battery icon is probably good enough to estimate the nearest 10%, and it's not like discharge is anything like linear, so what different decisions do people make when they know it's actually at 42% rather than guessing it's 40%?

This has been such a thing, and I can't get my head around it. Most people I know ignore their analog car fuel gauge until the light comes on, but apparently knowing the all the significant figures of their battery charge is critical...
I actually don’t like it. iPhone 13 Pro Max user. I am used to visually looking to see an approximate based upon how full the battery looks. Now, it looks like it’s full. But it’s really at 63%. I would think it should appear empty with just an outline of the battery and the number inside of it. Although, over time I am sure people will get used to it, I think a lot of people will wonder why they’re getting a low-battery warning when it shows full.

All I am saying is, there’s something off about it. I would prefer it to show the volume of how full it is visually. Then, have the number show in opposite transparent to battery full then opaque to battery empty areas. For me, that would be far more visually pleasing. And, really it would only require 101 small images in coding it. So when the battery is 50% charged/dead, the 5 would be transparent in the solid side and the 0 would be opaque on the transparent/empty side of the battery icon.

It doesn’t have to be any more difficult to code than what they all ready have to code. It just needs to visually represent how full it is and state a percentage. If that’s too much to ask, allow me to select which way I want it to display. And make everyone happy.

Like clockwork. When new features that aren’t “innovative” are released, we have people mocking them for the lack of “innovation”. Meanwhile those same people would be crapping on them for adding some new never before seen feature also saying it’s useless and nobody wants it. Some people just want to complain.

Anyway, love the little new stuff. My favorite is the copy and delete for screenshots.

That's a solid QOL improvement. Kind of absurd though that it took 5 freaking years to bring that to the notch phones.

Font looks a little small, even on 13PM. Might be nice if they make a way to keep the number color black all the time. Also still no keyboard haptics. I get the haptic feedback when I toggle the haptics on and off, but not when I type.
Settings—sound and haptics—scroll to the bottom—keyboard feedback

I hope they are working on battery drain and Apple Music app/store. Searching and navigation just completely sucks now.

What exactly would that do? Not sure what the combined function does and how it would be useful.
There’s a lot of times where I would take a screenshot, edit it, then message it to someone. Now, I won’t have to save it in my photos and then delete it.

Though, when I just told my wife how excited I was about this, she said she just uses the share bottom on the top right. I guess I never noticed that before. *facepalm*

1. Do you honestly think they held back battery percentage thinking that would drive upgrades?
1a. Do you honestly think anyone would upgrade for this reason?
2. They included it on older models like the Xs and the X, so your basic argument doesn’t even make sense.
3. No seriously, do you honestly think this?
