Ok, I gotta ask... Why are people so hung up on a numeric charge indicator? I mean, the little battery icon is probably good enough to estimate the nearest 10%, and it's not like discharge is anything like linear, so what different decisions do people make when they know it's actually at 42% rather than guessing it's 40%?

This has been such a thing, and I can't get my head around it. Most people I know ignore their analog car fuel gauge until the light comes on, but apparently knowing the all the significant figures of their battery charge is critical...

Just a little update re the battery indicator and when it changes.

It stays showing ‘full’ visually until it gets to critical points. So as per my screen shots below, shows full when at 21%, then when hitting 20, changes to its normal red then shows as it did before with the number now inside the battery. Mine changes to battery save mode due to a ‘Shortcut’ so ignore the orange at 19.

I assume it will act as it did before as it decreases showing the battery getting visually lower just with the number inside also now.

As before, you can see the battery level at any point and the number percentage in Control Centre.

Just letting everyone know that the section about the battery percentage is wrong. Every model with the notch get this feature except for the XR, 11, 12 mini and the 13 mini.

So your 11 Pro Maxs and 11 Pros will have this feature.

i get the minis, the display is probably so small that the text size would break some readibility rules set by apple, but why not 11? display is bigger than X/Xs... probably same reason, they have worse DPI than all the other notch models

It’s amazing to me how much people cry and whine about the most insignificant things. So they implemented a battery percentage but people are upset that the visual indicator doesn’t drop down also? LOL, if you have the battery percentage in front of you, it’s pretty easy to visualize, what the battery looks like inside.

Love the battery percentage and the Copy and Delete option for screenshots. The mini visualizer on the lock screen looks nice too.

Only Apple can take a feature away for a while bring it back like it's something new and have people praise them lol.

It’s not the same as before. There wasn’t room for the old version. Also, when did Apple bring this back “like it’s something new”?

There’s a lot of times where I would take a screenshot, edit it, then message it to someone. Now, I won’t have to save it in my photos and then delete it.

You don’t have to. Just send the picture using the share sheet and then press delete when it asks afterwards. That’s what I always do.

So the battery bar doesn’t drop with the percentage on, but drops when it’s off. Interesting. Maybe it’s an issue with the font and how it would transition with different backgrounds.

Yeah I just noticed this. You’d think a graphic could do both, count down with the indicator as well as number- isn’t that what it used to do? Now it’s just either numerical or pictorial countdown, but not both?

I don't hate it.. but I mean, I don't see what problem it solves.

It's not synchronised to the actual sounds being played and I can already tell if music is playing due to the pause icon being shown. So....?

That probably has to do with the 11 and XR having an LCD instead of OLED. I’m glad my X is getting it in addition to my 12 Pro.
