Nope. Not for me, I’m staying 18.7. iOS, Mac OS, etc 26 has been an absolute ball drop and Tim Cook/software won’t own up to it.

Says the person who doesn’t use it.
“Says the person who doesn’t use it.” Smart person! Maybe delsoul’s decision to stay put was based on the many negative OS 26 experiences reported on this forum. Having ignored them, delsoul would have been stuck in the glass as of today at the point of no return.

Ah yeah, I always base my opinions on other people’s anecdotes. I’m going to keep driving my Honda because some stranger told me his Porsche got a flat tire once. I also still run OS X 10.7.5 because minor UI changes absolute ruin how I use my computer.

Maybe I'm lucky because I can use the betas on the 11 Pro (my secondary phone) and only update the 15 Pro (my primary phone) when I'm sure and happy with it. In any case, without any major changes, I've always been happy with iOS 26. I've also been using Android since its inception, and even now (I have a third phone for work, unfortunately), and I also modify it as a root user, so I think I can say that iOS is also an interesting system, including iOS 26. Android and iOS are systems for phones, and phones are just phones!
It goes without saying that I use both MacOS and W11, both for work and out of curiosity. But since I work on my MacBook, I haven't updated yet.
In short, maybe I'm too relaxed (maybe I'm too old, 59 years), but I don't mind iOS 26.1 either, and I'm now certain that it will still take some time to mature and become effective. Sorry for the long message :)

I was running the 26 RC beta right before launch. I didn’t want to jump into the beta pool to early because if my experiences with the 17 beta.

I’m running the 26.1 beta now. I have no issues with it. I like the new UI. It could use some refinement here and there but overall I’m pleased with it. The system runs smoothly on my 16PM and all my apps work. I’ve had no issues with it.

As well as with Tahoe on my MBP. The new Spotlight features are nice. Not too happy about the changes to Launchpad. They should have left that alone.

I will admit I harbor a certain affinity for Apple products. I’ve been an Apple user since my IIe days with a brief defection to Windows in the 90’s when my mom bought a HP desktop and I was in college which extended to early adulthood until the Intel Core Duo days. I’ve had nothing but Apple/Mac since.

So if I think it stinks, I’ll say it stinks. And Apple has had some stinkers in my time, and we all know it. They’ve hit a lot of home runs too. I don’t think 26 is either. There’s a lot to like about it. A lot of things people are not going to like but that’s to be expected when you make big changes. If I were to call it anything I would say it was a solid ground rule double. With the potential to steal 3rd if they listen to feedback and address some of the issues certain users have with it.

I think how Apple responds to the feedback will be more important than any actual changes they make. It’s and opportunity to show they value the input of the user base and are responsive to customer requests/demands.

I know a lot of people here don’t like 26. But so far I do. I’m not a “fan” but I’m not a hater either.

The only tweak I made on my iPhone 13 Pro was turn on "Increase Contrast", which makes the edges sharp, not blurry.
This setting really helped me, thanks! Spotlight finds it when you search for ’contrast’.

The resulting UI-look may make the transition from former iOS versions easier for a lot of users.

I regret updating to iOS 26 with every cell of my body.
My iPhone is a tool and not some glossy accessory on a body strap slopping around.

Did anyone install it in here? Did they fix an issue contacts not showing up in Spotlight Search?
I have been on it since Dev Beta 1 and it is much better. And yea confirm I can search contacts in Spotlight.

The new Beta Dev seems to work even better and now the animation feels a little bit slower but snappier, and not broken like before on 26 Stable

I don’t know about everything new…

1) App Library now has updated Liquid Glass with specular highlights
2) Fixed animation when the AirPlay view is invoked from Now Playing in Apple Music, Live Activities on the Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, or other similar source
3) Phone app keypad now uses Liquid Glass
4) When expanding a platter in the Control Center, the content inside of the platter (ie. Brightness or volume progress, Wifi/Cellular/Airplane Mode buttons) now animate properly where before there were minor visual issues
5) Apple Intelligence and Live Translation expand
6) You can now slide on the current song in the Tab Bar or full screen player views in Apple Music to change the song
7) For a song or album, Go to… actions have been condensed down into “Go To ->” that opens a sub menu
8) When viewing a contact in Phone or FaceTime, “Details” and “Voicemail” now use a proper slider. This change is not reflected everywhere (ie. Messages does not adapt this) for some reason
9) In Messages, the "+" button no longer expands out and up, rather it now expands just outward.
10) In Calendar, the "Calendars" dismiss view button now uses an "X" in the top leading as opposed to a checkmark in the top trailing edge
11) Photos Filter and View Options button now uses an ellipsis icon, rather than the filter icon
12) "Show Map" option in the menu with Filter and View Options
13) "Use as Ringtone" is no longer an option when sharing a photo using the Share Sheet
14) In Notes, the keyboard toolbar can be scrolled even when there's nothing else
15) In Games, the "Invite Friends" button no longer uses a green plus
16) In Maps, the Recents, Find Nearby, and other similar list views use a darker gray (almost certainly a bug)
17) In Settings, some toggles that would not use Liquid Glass now do
18) Home app uses Liquid Glass and light SF Symbol colors more liberally
19) Podcasts gets updated splash screen
20) Apple Books tab bar no longer shrinks when scrolled
21) Apple Vision Pro app now uses a 3D visual render of the device that animates as you scroll under the "Vision Pro" tab
22) Apple Vision Pro app now lets you configure AirPlay Receiver options in the "Vision Pro" tab
23) Under Tips in the Apple Vision Pro app, there's a new "What's new?" section that replaces "Essentials"
24) In jiggle mode, "-" buttons are significantly more blurred than before
25) Apps such as Health and Wallet now let you configure their widgets from the long press quick actions platter where they did not before

I'm certain there's more, but I didn't do a very deep dive as I'm short on time.

There is no lag/hesitation anymore when swiping on the homescreen to the app library (at least, on the M1 iPad Pro 11).

Small changes. Swiping to change songs in Apple Music might be useful. Have to try it out. The change to calendar will also be beneficial.

swiping to to switch songs is cool, but please apple, eventually add a real parametric EQ (no old Ipod presets) that works system wide and can remember individual settings for each Bluetooth or other audio device you connect to.
Yes! But until they save your balance settings in the Mac MIDI app, at least for AirPods, EQ on iPhone will only remain a dream.

Only reason I’m hoping on the beta train again right now would be IF the Safari micro stutters are fixed.
I can’t do this for another month my gawd

Increase Contrast in Accessibility is much better. Previous iOS 26 had it outline everything. Now it is more like it used to be and doesn’t outline everything. Just makes it darker and easier to see.

Hopefully as this version progresses through beta we’ll see lots of UI animation improvements.

There’s a lot of choppiness on my phone seemingly caused by the Liquid Glass elements working out what colour they should show as they go through their animation sequence over different parts of the content background

Same for me. Sometimes it also seems to not adapting to the background. Most visible for me in the photos app. Good to see that 26.1 already brings an improvement in this regard.

Was hoping for an option to reduce the radius of the HUGE rounded corners and the spindly lines - but not yet. Best option for apple would be to just comment out the spindlyLine method and adjust UIWindowCornerRaduis to half what it is. What were they thinking - its bad enough that if I want a side by side I have to do at least three steps when it was just once - OG and the gaps when side by side so you see all the junk behind. And on Tahoe it looks even more clunky and superfluous

26) made the whole UI look ugly, clunky and like a kids toy

Is it correct to title this “everything new…”? Do you know 100% this is everything that’s new or is it everything you believe to be new, or have discovered thus far?
