the UX for the UI is the worst ever now. multiple taps within apps etc. its super confusing and a huge step backwards. did they have real humans agree to these changes from iOS18?

Regarding Tahoe: I expect a mess like this from Microsoft. I expect it when I meddle with Linux without understanding. It feels like one of those fancy new Linux distros that come out from time to time to be better than any other distro. It feels so not like Apple. Everything feels not right. Like: ChatGPT, I want to make MacOS glassy. Let's go!Real humans, that are apparently really poorly trained in UI and UX.
It's really disheartening that they think this is "good".

Regarding iOS: I could accept some parts of it but oh my dear there are so many bugs. And dumb design choices. Why can't I click on the name of a person to call back? I have to move my thumb up up up to the small circle? What?
It is so... let's add some extra steps so people can spend more time on the phone? I don't get it.
Was hoping for an option to reduce the radius of the HUGE rounded corners and the spindly lines - but not yet. Best option for apple would be to just comment out the spindlyLine method and adjust UIWindowCornerRaduis to half what it is. What were they thinking - its bad enough that if I want a side by side I have to do at least three steps when it was just once - OG and the gaps when side by side so you see all the junk behind. And on Tahoe it looks even more clunky and superfluous
They want the corners of windows, pop-ups and content to have the same radius as the corners of the display. This fails to acknowledge that everything having the same radius just does not look good - to say nothing of the space that gets wasted by such a large radius.
I run 26 on my test iPad and am keeping it off every other device in my household until it matures—maybe by .4Says the person who doesn’t use it.
Some users refer to the 6-7 transition.I still really like the original iOS, but you could easily say the same thing about iOS 1-6 if it were introduced after a decade of ios7.
Critics would be all “felttablegate”.
Since the other user admitted to being on 18.7, which is not possible to downgrade to, they haven't used it so yes they're ignorant.I run 26 on my test iPad and am keeping it off every other device in my household until it matures—maybe by .4
(You assume that detractors are ignorant.)
As someone else mentioned, this would not be a 26.1 change. Nonetheless, I disagree. I quite like this new design a lot. It was overwhelming at first, yes, but as I've been on it since June 9 I've grown very used to it. I think it looks fantastic. Granted, I loved iOS 6 and earlier as well as iOS 7 - 14. Around iOS 15 was when the design started to stale for me, personally.26) made the whole UI look ugly, clunky and like a kids toy
I downgraded my 13 mini to 18.6.2 and applied the 18.7 fix. All but one of my household’s i-devices are 18.7. Is that so difficult?Since the other user admitted to being on 18.7, which is not possible to downgrade to, they haven't used it so yes they're ignorant.
Always one in the bunch. EnjoyNope. Not for me, I’m staying 18.7. iOS, Mac OS, etc 26 has been an absolute ball drop and Tim Cook/software won’t own up to it.
I’m on it and have been. It’s working great for meI regret updating to iOS 26 with every cell of my body.
My iPhone is a tool and not some glossy accessory on a body strap slopping around.
Did anyone install it in here? Did they fix an issue contacts not showing up in Spotlight Search?
Well if you’re gonna use a flat black background, that’s kinda what I expectedHow is this even acceptable?
Do you buy cars after January?Guys it is called ios26 for a reason. Just install the latest iOS in.... 2026, when it is 26.3.1 or something.
Perfect amount of snarky in that comment!! BravoAh yeah, I always base my opinions on other people’s anecdotes. I’m going to keep driving my Honda because some stranger told me his Porsche got a flat tire once. I also still run OS X 10.7.5 because minor UI changes absolute ruin how I use my computer.
As an old guy, I’m not having issues. Sorry you arethe UX for the UI is the worst ever now. multiple taps within apps etc. its super confusing and a huge step backwards. did they have real humans agree to these changes from iOS18?
What bothers me about this discourse is that the people who don't like Liquid Glass can easily disable it through accessibility options. Plenty of people like it and the whole contrast argument is genuinely a non-issue for them.Yes. Even those who designed it dislike it.
