Do playlists sorted in ‘title’ order on iPhone, show in title order on CarPlay? Currently CarPlay shows songs in ‘playlist’ order despite the sort order being by title on the phone. It’s really annoying me as you can’t change it within CarPlay itself - at least I don’t know how to do it if there is.

the UX for the UI is the worst ever now. multiple taps within apps etc. its super confusing and a huge step backwards. did they have real humans agree to these changes from iOS18?

Real humans, that are apparently really poorly trained in UI and UX.

It's really disheartening that they think this is "good".
Regarding Tahoe: I expect a mess like this from Microsoft. I expect it when I meddle with Linux without understanding. It feels like one of those fancy new Linux distros that come out from time to time to be better than any other distro. It feels so not like Apple. Everything feels not right. Like: ChatGPT, I want to make MacOS glassy. Let's go!

Regarding iOS: I could accept some parts of it but oh my dear there are so many bugs. And dumb design choices. Why can't I click on the name of a person to call back? I have to move my thumb up up up to the small circle? What?
It is so... let's add some extra steps so people can spend more time on the phone? I don't get it.

Agree totally. Tahoe screenshots, to me, look like a Linux theme that's trying to be like macOS.

The thing that annoys me the most is that media is playing it all down. Like: People also were upset by former major design changes. But it's not the case. In the past I liked some of their changes more, some less. But no matter what they changed, it still felt like iOS and MacOS. But this abomination feels like constantly playing Bejeweled. In my Mail.app. In my notes app. In my browser.

How about you push 26.0.1 to fix the fact that CarPlay is entirely useless and disconnects frequently for a ton of users!!

Was hoping for an option to reduce the radius of the HUGE rounded corners and the spindly lines - but not yet. Best option for apple would be to just comment out the spindlyLine method and adjust UIWindowCornerRaduis to half what it is. What were they thinking - its bad enough that if I want a side by side I have to do at least three steps when it was just once - OG and the gaps when side by side so you see all the junk behind. And on Tahoe it looks even more clunky and superfluous

They want the corners of windows, pop-ups and content to have the same radius as the corners of the display. This fails to acknowledge that everything having the same radius just does not look good - to say nothing of the space that gets wasted by such a large radius.

Increased Contrast looked AMAZING up until the .1 beta. Now, instead of outlined icons and buttons, we have a smudgy darker version of the liquid glass. The result - folders are once again lost to wallpapers as they were in iOS 7.

The point is that it’s meant to IMPROVE visual legibility, not make it worse. Who the hell is signing off in this garbage?

I still really like the original iOS, but you could easily say the same thing about iOS 1-6 if it were introduced after a decade of ios7.

Critics would be all “felttablegate”.
Some users refer to the 6-7 transition.

Sure, many things were different, however, it wasn’t a trip into fuzzy icons, fuzzy frosting, etc.

Yesterday, I read on another platform that this is purposeful, to focus the user on what an app is doing, and to turn the interface itself into art.

I switch apps many, many times each hour. If the in-app experience is richer at the expense of overall navigation, I don’t consider that a win.

I run 26 on my test iPad and am keeping it off every other device in my household until it matures—maybe by .4

(You assume that detractors are ignorant.)
Since the other user admitted to being on 18.7, which is not possible to downgrade to, they haven't used it so yes they're ignorant.

26) made the whole UI look ugly, clunky and like a kids toy
As someone else mentioned, this would not be a 26.1 change. Nonetheless, I disagree. I quite like this new design a lot. It was overwhelming at first, yes, but as I've been on it since June 9 I've grown very used to it. I think it looks fantastic. Granted, I loved iOS 6 and earlier as well as iOS 7 - 14. Around iOS 15 was when the design started to stale for me, personally.

I downgraded my 13 mini to 18.6.2 and applied the 18.7 fix. All but one of my household’s i-devices are 18.7. Is that so difficult?
