are people only posting areas of where the UX has updated to be more opaque and calling that reversal? the beta 3 looks the same almost everywhere else

This is very disheartening to see. Liquid Glass was so mesmerizing. It was cutting edge. I wanted to lick my screen after seeing it live on Betas 1 & 2. Apple Inc should build an accessibility toggle for users that liked Liquid Glass to still use it as it was demoed in June. This is garbage now. I am not a happy camper at all. I like Apple because they think outside the box with good styles.

there is barely any areas where the adjust has been made. the most hyperbolic comments I have ever seen for a beta. i almost chocked on my toast at the comments here lol

Good to see some of the legibility stuff is getting fixed. It's weird how inconsistent everything looks between all the screenshots now, but I'll take being able to read text over consistency any day.

My guess is that they are playing with the settings/options and this is basically a reduced transparency option. Figure they are going to go to more of a scale or have more than the on/off they have had in the past.

If they wanna fix something in settings then they should fix the bug in phone app where the option to silence unknown numbers/calls is gone. Silence unknown calls isnt working on ios 26 beta 2 and now 3. The option that says send unknown calls to voicemail that option isnt even showing up in settings>apps>phone>scroll to unknown calls. It should be above where it says send unkown calls to unknown caller list. Some are also saying that all their calls go straight to voicemail because of this bug. They think it might be a esim issue Im not sure. Its def a bug in the phone app.

And just like that… Liquid Ass is almost gone 👀
Thankfully, smell-o-vision has not yet come to the iPhone.

I wish they'd just give up on the redesign and continue with minor tweaks to the current iOS 18 interface.

Seriously, who asked for this? iOS looks fine as it is today.
I just keep hearing people say they're bored with new product announcements because "not new enough". Or whatever.

I have pictures in my head of Apple devs putting their gear on to brace for another phase of tough beta testing.
Jedi outfits? Or Mando armor?

And the worst part about this mess is that if you want a new phone, you’re gonna get stuck with this ugly redesign since you can’t install an old iOS on a brand new device. If they don’t make some serious changes, this will be the first year. I don’t get a new phone.
You get a new phone every year? You must be made of money!

As someone who is using iOS 26 and *like* Liquid Glass's transparency in most regards, they really should be setting the opaqueness as an option in Accessibility. Being able to see through stuff is nice in many occasions.
I agree.

Include a transparency slider in Settings and this is never discussed again.
Yeah, some other guy said the same thing!

firstly apple ruined the new Siri and AI with not being ready, and now the whole change of iOS 26 liquid glass has been backtracked, just like the photos app they ruined, what can they actually do thats right now days. its annoying me now days. liquid glass was the main selling point and they have backtracked on that, iOS 26 is now iOS 18.7
Did they advertise the glass anywhere? They aren't backtracking to the public, just developers who aren't the main consumers. Never did they pitch the glass to anyone for sales (aka selling point).
