A Lamborghini. What's the fastest way to get one of the M2 Airs? Preorder, or show up to an Apple store before opening on July 15?
Pre-order right when it starts. Some people receive them earlyWhat's the fastest way to get one of the M2 Airs? Preorder, or show up to an Apple store before opening on July 15?
Yeah, midnight seems more of a Pro color. I wish the MBA had come in all the bright colors we were expecting. Although, without the upgraded speakers, microphones, and screen, the MBP is barely a Pro.If that M2 MBP came in midnight, I’d have one on order already… 🤷
Decent point. I'm going with 2TB for one reason only, photos. Yes, I use iCloud Photos, but I always keep a copy of the originals local just in case. The risk is too great. For those who say the 256GB SSD is too small to be useful, do you use any online storage? I used to love huge drives, but these days I use Macs with small drives for the OS, and then external and cloud for large files and backup. I don’t actually understand why someone would pay what they do for large Apple drives, when there are so many options for <2 oz NVMe drives or cloud storage.
I also have a time machine backup and Crashplan.Decent point. I'm going with 2TB for one reason only, photos. Yes, I use iCloud Photos, but I always keep a copy of the originals local just in case. The risk is too great.
That’s me. I’ve had iCloud for 10 years. I’ve been buying the lowest capacity ssd macs in that time. For me personally, the cloud is way better of a place to spend that money. It syncs all my macs, phone, iPads, etc, and I save hundreds on each device. For those who say the 256GB SSD is too small to be useful, do you use any online storage? The new MacBook Air was announced and previewed during WWDC earlier this month, with Apple stating availability will begin in July. The MacBook Air features a redesigned body that is thinner and lighter than the previous model. Thanks to the M2 chip, the MacBook Air features up to 18 hours of battery life, according to Apple. With a launch planned for July 15, pre-orders can be expected to go live on Friday, July 8.
The new MacBook Air starts at $1199, with the highest configuration costing $2499. The previous M1-powered MacBook Air remains in Apple's lineup for $999 for customers looking for a cheaper option.

Not only that, but given how the SSD is now an inseparable part of the SoC, it is for all practicality impossible to salvage the data from it if it, or something else on the SoC, dies. I keep OS and Apps on the internal SSD of my mini, everything else goes on at least two of either external, network and cloud. For those who say the 256GB SSD is too small to be useful, do you use any online storage? 100%. I wouldn’t even consider it otherwise, but it’s so cool I’m honestly looking for excuses to buy one. Of course, Apple is looking for excuses for me to NOT buy one with the 256GB SSD vs 2x128GB differences, lol.The midnight blue is going to sell the most, Imo. When was the last time there was a very dark colored laptop? Was it the polycarbonate MacBook offered in black near the end of its run?
Agree that you can't go wrong with silver. That said, after having had the same silver MBP for 13 years, I am ready for something different, and think I've settled on the Starlight. I like that it appears to be only very slightly gold - almost like a white gold, or a warmer take on silver. Plus, most of the furniture my wife and I have bought for our living room in the past few years has warm metal accents, so maybe it'll fit the décor a bit better. (Not really a reason to choose this color, but can't hurt, either.)still think they will look best in silver... midnight is a fingerprint magnet, and too new and pc looking (dark) IMO
