Are you experiencing this issue?

The dates have soon gone out on the delivery/collection.

I'm happy sitting tight for 2/3 weeks and seeing what happens with reviews and feedback etc.

First time I've preordered an iPhone since this all started in 2017 - iPhone Pro 1 TB. Figured I've saved so much money on iPhones the last 8 years I might as well go for the big one.

I also have issues with Apple LCD phones/iPads on newer iOS versions (temporal dithering? Something else?) but I'm hoping this isn't an issue on OLEDs.

Similar too, IOS17 on Iphone 11 dithering hurt me so I rolled back to IOS16.

I have never experienced dithering on OLED as it also came with PWM too.

Does anyone know when the reviews will come out? I am really waiting for Nick to review the PWM and TD on all devices. And other reviews for the battery of the AIR

How does he test for TD? Is it purely an observation up close or is there something he can measure it with?

Likewise, having waited this long for a flagship phone I can use, another couple of weeks won’t matter. Hopefully will be able to pop in store and try out for myself too.

Abiyork - Do you have issues with computer operating systems as well? I get the same symptoms from Windows 11 and later updates of Windows 10. As well many Android LCD phones on later Android versions. There must be something in screen rendering techniques that everyone started using a few years ago (I'm not sure it's purely temporal dithering?). Seems like I can use most anything prior to 2018-2021 and then gradually it gets bad.

I am fine with windows on my work laptop but get a bit of grief from my Macbook M1, although its nearly always linked up to a decent monitor.

Pre-ordered 17 ProMax 256 in Silver, as with the poster above, this has been a long time coming. My iPhone 11 has been showing its age for the past two years and I assume would only get worse on iOS 26. I literally cannot fathom what this phone is going to feel like with 12 GB of RAM and an A19 Pro vs the A13 with 4 GM of RAM, then don't even get me started on the updated camera system. Next Friday cannot get here soon enough!!!

Such amazing news for us that Apple has finally implemented a way to combat PWM! So happy to finally be able to move on from my iPhone 11 as well! I love the iPhone 11 but I'm glad I can get a new phone that is not going to be vintage next year and will still offer repairs and software updates! Really hope this new toggle works and it will fix the problem, will wait for some reviews and then decide between the normal 17 and Pro, and 256 or 512 - will likely get the silver. Still somewhat sceptical it will work but I got high hopes 😁

There are Android phones (Motorola Edge) that state the phone has DC dimming. Users have reported that the flicker is reduced but still somewhat noticeable and others say they can get used to it. Definitely an improvement.
So the setting on iPhone 17 says "Turn off PWM" but it may just be doing what the Android phones do, quasi DC dimming.
Crossing fingers.

Reading this news about the ability to disable PWM coming to the new iPhones is like finding a sweet chilled oasis of fresh water in the desert after many moons of thirst.

I am fully piqued, if this works I am going to frame my iPhone 11 and order a 17 Pro Max.

I wonder if this setting is tied to hardware. I know it’s said to be a Pro only setting. However, if it not tied to hardware, I would love it to land on the IPP as well.

The new iOS version comes out on Monday right, guess we’ll find out in a couple days.

I’m on the 16 plus iOS 26 release candidate (final version). The setting is not available. I think it’s tied to hardware in the 17 series. Display controller likely needs to support dc dimming and pwm.

I ordered the 17 blue. But I’m still doubting about the air

- the 17 has everything you need for a very good price
- the air is so nice. But I’m afraid it has to many flaws.
- the pro doesn’t look worth the extra price. And it doesn’t look premium to me.

I just can wait till the real reviews come out. And of course the reviews of disabling pwm on al 3 devices

The article notes it's coming to the standard 17, 17 Pro, and Pro Max - Air confirmation was outstanding.

It’s only going to start to feel real around launch day that this may be the year when we can finally upgrade again to a real flagship iPhone……..

I am curious if we would know by Monday or next Friday (?)
I’m just reminding myself now that I experience zero migraines with iPhone SE and my head/eye can throb thousands of times per day with an OLED iPhone typically, so I would have to go off of my own response to it which is hopefully zero headaches. I.e. .75% modulations and a higher or more consistent rate may sound good but I really have to try it for 24-48 hours to know.

I think DJs including Monday because iOS 26 comes out Monday and it might have the feature on older devices
it will not be available on the older models. So it must be a hardware thing. Or Apple just being Apple again.

I mean when will the iphones be shown at apple stores display and when is the lift of the reviews embargo ?
I thought Wednesday reviews. I went to Apple Store and they said no demos until Friday.

Also I can’t remember if I posted this here but no PWM options on 15PM.
