I went to the MacTruths website, and they said that you could unlock the device if you just put a quarter in it, like those fortune telling machine that used to be on boardwalks. Tim Cook Certified it.

The notch has never bothered me and I’m fine with my iPhone 12 but if Apple can produce a phone with both Face ID and Touch ID under the display I’d upgrade. Other than those two features there isn’t much I’ve heard about the 14 or 15 that would compel me to upgrade. The bill credits for the iPhone 12 upgrade I’m getting from AT&T will end next year and the phone will be paid off at that point so upgrading to the 15 or 16 if they push those back a release would be around the time I’d normally upgrade anyway. Here’s to hoping the 15 or 16 has both features. I used to upgrade almost every year, then it became once a series 5/5s, 6/6s, skipped the 7 but got the X, etc) but we’re near peak smart phone in terms of killer new features and I wouldn’t have upgraded to the 12 if not for 5G plus bill credits for two years that basically costs me less than $10 bucks a month to own the 12. 3 - 4 years is likely to be the new cycle for me.

Rumors getting to be nothing more than rumors. Where did they get this info???
Sit tight for the real info from credible leakers

We'll have an iPhone without a notch in 2023 but will have an in-screen charging port instead.

A pill is shaped like a battery. I would design the battery icon as a contour of the pill. It would be like an oversized icon in the top bar.

Where are the rumors about Touch ID? I'll take it in any form, under the screen or in the power button or even in a home button. I've recently upgraded from 6s to 13 mini and the fact that FaceID doesn't work with masks is driving me crazy. It's been obvious for a long time that we'll have to deal with masks for a long time. What's Apple's answer to this? They had time to address it but didn't with iphone13. what about iphone1 4? Not doing anything about FaceID and masks will be even more inexcusable if they don't address it in iphone 14. And will the reviewers hold Apple to account if they don't? Last time around none of them did.

Don’t get your hopes up. With Face ID being 2 x as accurate as Touch ID it’s not coming back soon. If it does make a comeback it’ll likely need to work with Face ID for even more security.

To be clear I am not advocating removal of Face ID. IPhone should have both Touch ID and Face ID. Not for extra security (both are plenty secure already) but as complimentary means of passwordless authentication. Or maybe they can make FaceID work with masks. If that's possible I'll take it. But one way or the other the issue of passwordless authentication being broken needs to be addressed asap.

Right…..that’s why the site is called Mac rumors. I mean, it’s literally 90% of what they base their news articles on. It’s not like rumors have validation just because they’re posted. You’ve been here long enough to know that.

Where did they get this info???
So you didn’t read the article then. I just can never understand why people comment like yourself, but they don’t read the article.

So to help you out, the article literally states, ‘Industry consultant Ross Young’ is the one making the statements about the future iPhone changes. It’s literally in the third paragraph down in the article.

If 14 Pro is having pill shaped cut out, then I think Apple will retain the new design for at least one more year. Under screen Face ID may come out only by 2024

Came wait! Apple heads might love the notch but the vast majority of the general public don’t, it’s so outdated and unacceptable in 2022.
"the vast majority of the general public don’t care about it"
Fixed that for you

Well... the outcry usually doesn't come form the general public but rather from people who (based on sneaky rumors) decided against buying a 13/13Pro and find themselves now, mid-cycle, confronted with the possibility that those rumors might not turn out true :)

‘Industry consultant’ according to who ?? Where’s his track record
More important…Where did he get the info from ?? The assembly line
Or from A person in the know??
Like I said no substantiation

FaceID is meh. FaceID with facemasks? Useless and frustrating step down.
Would have REALLY appreciated TouchID on the power button for the iPhone13, you know, during the era of COVID.

‘Industry consultant’ according to who ?? Where’s his track record
More important…Where did he get the info from
Where does Ming Kuo gain know his sources and insight from from?

Where does Gurman harvest his predictions, rumors and claims?

Where does Slashleaks find their info, more specifically about the iPhone X when it launched?

Do you question those sources that have been proven track records? My point to you, why does it matter, it’s based off a rumor on a rumors site. Are you suggesting Macrumors shouldn’t report any of this information, because you have a personal issue against because you’ve never heard of somebody with a title of a ‘industry consultant’.

How many times has Ming Kuo been wrong, and he’s made predictions two years advance about things that have changed.

Again, you’ve been here long enough to know how this works or should have some concept. Try not to overthink it.
