Facebook Changes Its Name to 'Meta'

I have no idea who you're talking to then. Because I made 0 edits. Oh oh I'm editing this one though. YOu must be high on something if you think I am editing my previous posts. Only this one. And it is a sideways 8 infinity distortion. So Meta. If you lack the imagination to see it then I can't help you. Which drugs are you smoking, snorting, injecting? Cause you have to be think the opposite of what I'm stating.
 
I clearly remember when I first felt Facebook was done for.

It was 2014 and my younger cousin moved to the city to live with my wife and I for his first year of university.

That was when I learned what a ‘snap chat was’, and that an 18 year old of that year’s Facebook profile looked more like someone’s today’s MySpace page.

I’m honestly shocked that Facebook is still a thing to anyone who isn’t in a third world country or one of my aunties and their multi level laser beam marketing shams.

They knew their days as “Facebook” were numbered years ago. They lost their growth, the kids; which is why this name change being long in the works makes sense.

So, before the inevitable decay of FB, they goose the algorithm more and more, dividing the world, all while profiting like crazy, spring boarding themselves financially into a virtual social media engineering empire.

But then we got papers which basically just said the quiet part out loud.

As a parent, I’m dreading the day my kid moves closer to living online.
However; I’m looking forward to a repeat of what happened to the cigarette companies.

Sorry for the little rant there, just kinda flowed outta me lol.

Radio Edit: Rage against the Meta. Grrrr, lol. So many are so mad at FB. But it's just a infinite mirror of yourselves.

If Google can rename themselves Alphabet (stupid much, Google?), then Facebook can rename themselves Meta... AND IT WON'T MAKE A (!!!) LOAD OF DIFFERENCE!!! :rolleyes:
 
But FB is staying FB. It's just going to be ruled under the Name Meta as a parent company along with all their other products.

Now Wendy's has gotten into the act and they've changed their name to "Meat"

Gee the logo almost looks like a google symbol. FB, Google...none of them are to be trusted and the more info we volunteer the more they love us.
 
From a purely marketing and corporate point of view, I guess the new name makes sense. Facebook the APP will continue to be called Facebook, but it's kind of awkward for a company to be called Facebook and yet have products that are not Facebook products (IG, Oculus, etc). Hell, it will probably work better as a name than Alphabet does for the Googles.

All that said, I am unaware of anyone interested in or truly looking forward to become part of the Metaverse.
